Hyperlinks or Cross references for Figures and Tables in PDF.

Hi All,
I've created the Hyperlinks for the Figures and tables using the Text Anchor options in Hyperlink Destination.  But I've problem in showing the destination image view when clicking on the figure references text.  The figures links are shown me the figure caption text.  How I set the properties of the Destination object to show us the exact Image when clicking on the hyperlink text.
Thanks in Advance for any help !.

Fit options is unavailable for the Text anchor destination,  it's need to include in the feature release.

  • Numbered captions for figures and tables

Can anyone tell me how to create captions for figures and tables such that they are automatically numbers (ex. Figure 1, Figure 2, ...) so that when I remove or add a new figure in the middle of the document I don't have to manually re-number everything. If it still is not possible in Pages ver. 4, I hope that someone can write an applescript that will post process a document to prefix captions preceding tables with Table # and any captions following images with Figure # or "Some custom phrase" followed by #.

Writing that here is perfectly useless.

  • Consider cross references for comparison

    Hi All,
I am using EMFCompare.createDefaultScope(EObject, EObject) for comparing a tree structure. That tree structure contains cross references as the least child node. These cross references are not considered within the scope of matching phase so all the cross references will be considered as differences.
How to consider cross references for comparison and make them behave in the same way as other EObjects?

"cross references" don't help define what you are trying to do; but I guess your "two trees" are actually more than two, referencing other trees elsewhere.
"EMFCompare.createDefaultScope" is deprecated. you should simply be instantiating the DefaultComparisonScope. It takes not only "EObject" instances, but accepts "Notifiers". This means you can and should be using "Resource"s as in your case, or better yet, "ResourceSet"s.
What you need to do is properly load your resources in separate resourceSets (one for right, one for left, one for the common ancestor if there is one) and use that as the comparison scope.

  • Setting up Figure and Table Titles for Translation Import and Export?

    Hi,
I use InDesign to write User Manuals. Once the manual complete, I use SDL World Server to translate the document which works wonderful. The way it works is the document is parsed by the xml data and when you export the document from SDL, the translated data replaces the English data, it’s pretty slick! The problem that I have is that my Figure and Table numbers are hard coded with the word "Figure" and "Table” as part of the numbering system and will not translate nor export (see screenshot below). Is there A.) A way I can make the code become a reference to a text box in the document that then can be translated? B.) A common or different way to handle this?
If you need any more info, just let me know. Thank you for your help!

I've always avoided that auto-figure-naming stuff, in any application, for the sole reason that it often doesn't localize well. I'm not a WorldServer user, but a SDL Trados Studio user, so I don't know exactly what to tell you. If you're the kind of person to pop your IDML open in a text editor, you'll find that the actual "Figure" text appears in Styles.xml, and I doubt that SDL's IDML filters look there for text for translation. I don't actually know for sure, and I do know you're using an SDL product with which I have no familiarity whatsoever.
A different, somewhat kludgy way to handle this would be to use auto-numbering to create an invisible paragraph number (color of Paper, size of 0.1 pts, glyph width of 1%, or something along those lines), and then have the phrase "Figure" in your live text, followed by a cross-reference to the paragraph number.
A common way to handle this would be to ask SDL to update their IDML filter to pick up terms used in auto-numbered lists.

  • How to move elements (figures and tables) to float

    Hi all,
We have created an XSLT for the XML-IN in Indesign, its working fine and all the styles are applied automatically and figures and tables were placed as inline.
Now we need to move the INLINE elements to FLOATING.
How to move the INLINE elements such as figures and tables to Floating. This is for automation purpose.
We are stuck up, please suggest.
Our requirement is need to move the "figures" from "Inline" to "float" for auto pagination purpose.
Please give us a route to end with proper result. We are at learning stage of Java Script.
We use Indesign CS3 with JavaScript, I am not asking the full code, just give us an idea, how to pick from the XML tree and make it as float.

Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the object, then place it on its own layer.
In your example, you would select the moon. You will see "marching ants" surrounding the selection, delineating  the boundary of the selection and that it is active.
To place the object on its own layer, go to Layer menu>new> layer via copy, or CTRL+J. You will see the object surrounded by transparency (checkerboard pattern).
Use the move tool to position the moon object wherever you want
Place a blank layer below the layer created in step #2, then fill it with your new background.
You can select multiple objects and place them this way to suit. Again, back to your hypothetical of.10 objects on 10 layers, you can link these layers by pressing CTRL+left clicking on each of the 10 layers in the layers palette.
If you use the move tool, you will see that they move as a block. If you are unhappy with one of the layers as you go along, simply delete it, and replace it with a new one.
As for naming the layers, right click on a layer, and from the menu select "rename" layer to bring up the layers properties, then rename it to something meaningful.
    Good luck with your project.

  • Word 2010 cross references drop when converted into a PDF

What do I need to do to make my Word 2010 cross references appear as active links in a PDF generated by Adobe PDFMaker?
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro installed onto my PC.

I have 13 documents - "Word 10/AAX (all updates installed)", with many cross-references.

  • How to Maintain Surrogate Key Mapping (cross-reference) for Dimension Tables

    Hi,
What would be the best approach on ODI to implement the Surrogate Key Mapping Table on the STG layer according to Kimball's technique:
"Surrogate key mapping tables are designed to map natural keys from the disparate source systems to their master data warehouse surrogate key. Mapping tables are an efficient way to maintain surrogate keys in your data warehouse. These compact tables are designed for high-speed processing. Mapping tables contain only the most current value of a surrogate key— used to populate a dimension—and the natural key from the source system. Since the same dimension can have many sources, a mapping table contains a natural key column for each of its sources.
Mapping tables can be equally effective if they are stored in a database or on the file system. The advantage of using a database for mapping tables is that you can utilize the database sequence generator to create new surrogate keys. And also, when indexed properly, mapping tables in a database are very efficient during key value lookups."
We have a requirement to implement cross-reference mapping tables with Natural and Surrogate Keys for each dimension table. These mappings tables will be populated automatically (only inserts) during the E-LT execution, right after inserting into the dimension table.
Someone have any idea on how to implement this on ODI?
    Thanks,
    Danilo

    Hi,
first of all please avoid bolding something. After this according Kimball (if i remember well) is a 1:1 mapping, so no-surrogate key.
After that personally you could use Lookup Table
    http://www.odigurus.com/2012/02/lookup-transformation-using-odi.html
or make a simple outer join filtering by your "Active_Flag" column (remember that this filter need to be inside your outer join).

  • Cross references for Partner Profiles

I have a requirement that I am not sure if is possible to do it, we have an IDOC/ALE integration with a middleware called Inovis TLE. From the side of TLE the communication with SAP is through Trading Partner that has to be created for every partner profile.
According to Inovis guys is a very tedious process to create a Trading Partner, In this implementation we are using an internal number for partner and every time when we have to test in a different environment the number of the business partner changes and it is necessary to create new trading partners.
We want to create a cross table in between for messages inbound and outbound, the purpose of this is to send and receive to the same trading partner number and control this with a Z table.
    •     Inbound - the user exit programs takes the incoming trading partner and lookup at the cross reference file and replace it with the new SAP trading partner
    •     Outbound - the user exit programs takes the SAP customer or trading partner and lookup at the cross reference file and replace the new sap trading partner and replace it with the old trading partner
I don’t know if this is possible.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

    Hi,
Recently we have acheived the same requirement.
Here instead of maintianing/changing partner number in field RCVPRN.
You can use the field RCVLAD ( Logical address of recipient ).
The required partner number fill in this whle creating IDOC and use this as required.
By this the issue should be resolved.
otherwise you need to maintain TVARVC entry and utilize it.
    Regards,
    Ramesh.

  • Cross-reference between structured and unstructured FM documents

    Hello,
Is it possible to retain FM cross-references from structured to unstructured FM documents during an XML round trip?
From what I know, cross-references between or inside structured documents form pairs of ID and IDREF, while cross-references to unstructured documents are dumped as normal text and lose their functionality.
The unstructured target documents might be converted to Structured FM at some point, but for the time being I'd like to find another solution. Do you know any solution to this?
    Thanks,
    Johannes

    Johannes,
This is just a guess, because I do not do this.
First, of course, you cannot export the unstructured file to XML, because it is unstructured.
Second, IF the cross-reference from the structured file to the unstructured file were done via your cross-reference ELEMENT, then the cross-reference element should export to XML as an XML element with one of its IDref attribute set to the ID of something in the unstructured file. When you open the XML file in FrameMaker, the cross-reference is re-established.
In other words, when exporting to XML, FrameMaker does not care to what you are referencing. It just converts the cross-reference element into an element with an attribute in the XML file. So, it should work as expected when opened in FrameMaker. Of course, I am assuming your read-write file is set up to handle cross-references.
On the other hand, IF you are creating your cross-reference from the structured file by simply inserting a cross-reference, that is NOT as an element, then I do not know what happens. If it is being exported as text, then I am not sure FrameMaker will know what to do with it when you reopen the XML file.
    Hope this helps,
    Van

  • Open VI reference for VITs and VIs

    Hi
I have a VIT and I get the reference using the Open VI reference. When I change (rename) this back to a VI, and get the reference for it, its much faster. Does the open VI reference takes longer for VITs than VIs in obtaining a reference?
Another question  is the same VIT, takes lesser time to get the reference using the Open VI reference in LabVIEW 8.5.1. It takes longer in LV8.6. Why is this happening?
    Thanks
    Vaa San.

The two main differences between a VI and a VIT are that   VITs are never run, but are templates that generate a VI instance immediately that has all the properties, attributes and limitations of a VI.  A VI on the other hand has only one instance (unless you make it reentrant)
    ·         A VI generated by a VIT is debuggable just like a VI in that you can trace the execution along the wires. In general, a VIT creates a copy of the VI in memory when you open a reference to it. Creating that copy takes time, which affects performance when doing recursion. That copy is then a standard VI in every sense, except it is not a file. Also, if you don't close these references, they will take up space in your RAM. Reentrant VIs can currently only do real recursion in 8.5 and if they are part of a class. If you open a VIT, you don't open the actual file, but a clone. This way you can open it multiple times. Each time you open it, you get a clone. This is especially useful when you open the VIT with VI Server. VIT's are useful to make an interface window once, and use it multiple times in your program. If the code should run multiple times, but doesn't have a user interface, use reentrant VI’s instead. As far as having the project open, a VI will reload all instances related to the project therefore causing the Vi to load slower. Best Regards,

  • Create a Cockpit (Transaction) for Reports and Tables

    Hi Gurus,
i am very new in ABAP. I want to create a Transaction/view in SAP BW where i can put my favourite Abap reports and tables and execute These directly from the created view/Transaction without se16/se11 or se38 Access and dont know if this is possible and how to do it.
the reason herefore is that we get deprived in differently time ranges our authorizations for the Standard Transactions.
I have a list of my tables and programms.
    Thanks for your help.

we get deprived in differently time ranges our authorizations for the Standard Transactions.
So you try to bypass security checks put in place by the Basis team
or could you explain your requirement ?
Remember (or learn) that creating such transaction, you are able to bypass following authorization checks using SU24 (Identity Management, User and Role Administration of Application Server ABAP, AS ABAP Authorization Concept, From the Programmed Authorization Check to a Role, Editing Authorization Default Data (Development System) / Editing Authorization Default Data (Customer System). )

  • Figure and Table number out of sequence between chapters

I inherited a lengthy Service Manual consisting of 6 separate files (chapters) that are intended to be consolidated into a book when complete. Page numbering, Figure numbering and Table numbering is supposed to be sequential, but I find when I delete a figure in one chapter, the next figure number in the subsequent chapter is out of order.  I'm new to FrameMaker 10 and can't seem to correct this.
    Please help!
    Margie

I've checked the paragraph tags in each chapter, they appear identical:
    C:\tTable\<><><><n+>\t
What happened is, the preceding chapter became shorter and I noticed the next chapter page numbers started incorrectly. I went to Format, Numbering, and changed the starting number to the correct one.  That's when the Table and figure numbers started renumbering from 1.
I'm thinking it might be better to compile as a book, but I'm getting the "unvailable fonts" message. I've checked every font and they seem to be OK, but there's 150 pages and a zillion tags.  Is there any way to make a global deletion ofo fonts?  I can see the problem fonts screened back iin the font list.
