Hyperlinks Test Style

I made a custom hyperlink text style with different colors then the default. When I choose that selection the color of the link is a light grey versus the gold color that I chose. If I try and go back to the default selection the color stays grey and I cannot even manually change the color to the desired color that I have chose. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have tried to use that approach, but it doesn't work for my case. My intention is that certain column(s) in EACH ROW in the data table change their styles when condition is true, but it turns out that the WHOLE CULOMN(S) of the data table change the styles according the condition of the last element of the List.
If I didn't make it wrong, the problem should be the fundamental mechanism of the JSF. I like the event driven way to deal with web programming, and like to see it works well. But alone with others I have experienced which was really frustrating, I do think a significant improvement is needed for JSF.
Is there anyway which I can achieve what I want to do? or I have to give up JSF, or even worse, no option but force to follow MS?

  • Print Without Hyperlink Character Styles

    Hi,
    I have applied a character style to URLs in my document that look like links so that when I export to pdf, people can click the obvious URL link.  However, the document will also be printed and I do not want the text to have this character style applied to it (or be a hyperlink).  I thought when I exported to PDF and unchecked 'Include Hyperlinks', no hyperlink formatting would be present in the pdf, including character styles applied to hyperlinks, but I cannot seem to print without the character style being applied.
    Is there a way to choose in the print dialog whether I want the character style applied to the text?  Or what is the easiest way to toggle between showing hyperlinks and not showing hyperlinks (including character styles) as I need to switch between print versions and electronic versions of my document?
    Thanks so much!

    Or maybe easier would be to define a second style with attributes, then use find/change to change from one to the other. Easy to go back and forth that way.

  • Hyperlink styles in menu look correct in editor but wrong in Preview or real Web Browser

    The default hyperlink style of my site is:
    Normal or Visited links are black, boldface and underlined
    Hovering or active links are grey boldface and underlined
    Except for my menu where I want them this way:
    Normal, Visited or Active links are black, no boldface and no underline
    Hovering links are grey and underlined
    But I can't manage to do it!
    The items appear in boldface with no underlines and no colour change (so the only hint when you hover them is the pointer changing from arrow to hand)
    The only different is the last item that is the only one that has submenu and is not a hyperlink by itself. It doesn't appear in boldface but again no underline or colour change. Also the first item of this submenu appears without boldface.
    in the editor the menu looks fine but in the preview or when HTML exported, the menu looks as explained.
    As Menus behave differently than other hyperlinks, I've tried to click and drill down to the text in the menu then modify the text appearance using the States panel, but as I said, the menu looks fine in the editor but not in the preview or web browser.
    I also have tried to remove the menu completely and creating again from scratch, but even with all the default options of the widget (not even font size change nor font type), it appears as non boldface in the editor but boldface in the preview.
    You can see the menu live in the site here:
    http://www.dblanco-weddings.co.uk
    Pictures can be seen in the old forum here: http://support.muse.adobe.com/muse/topics/how_do_i_change_hyperlink_styles_in_a_menu

    Mail sent:
    I'm attaching a .muse file in response to the problem I posted here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4316724#4316724
    Instead of the original Muse file for my site I thought it would be easier for you to have a minimal site that also reproduces the problem so this is the test.muse file I'm sending to you.
    Meanwhile, I had to make a workaround for my actual site menu to work as intended by removing the boldface attribute from the hyperlinks default style of the site. This is the dblanco.muse file I'm also attaching. You just have to activate the boldface in the default style to have the problem again.

  • Why is the character style for hyperlinks not displaying correctly in design mode/viewing/output?

    I am using RH9 and generating WebHelp, and I needed to globally bump up the font size of just my hyperlinked text. I went into my Style Sheet > Character tab, changed the font size of the various character settings for hyperlinks, and clicked Apply and then OK. Normally, this would change all of my hyperlink text font sizes immediately across all of my topics. However, this time, it made no changes to any existing hyperlinked text, and it only affected new hyperlinks that I subsequently added. For the existing hyperlinks, I can only manually change the font size of the each hyperlink one at a time, but that's crazy (there's 100's in this help).
    I can successfully change other characters styles and paragraph styles. This issue only affects the hyperlink character styles. It also shows up in all RH modes - Design mode, viewing, and in the final output.
    Is this an indication of a corrupted style sheet or some other combination of events that I have yet to discover?

    Hi,
    You probably have inline styling in your project overwriting the font size of your style sheet. How are you changing the font size of the individual hyperlinks?
    There is a workaround for inline styling: Open your CSS in notepad and add !important after the font-size:
    font-size: 4pt !important;
    Note that this is a workaround, not a solution. As a solutions you can remove all the style attributes from your hyperlinks to force them to take the CSS styling again.

    Willam

  • Hyperlink style

    I'm importing a Word doc into RoboHTML and I have a custom
    css I want to use. Unfortunately, the style sheet for the topic
    always overrides the style sheet I assign, so to make my hyperlinks
    look the way I want them to, I have to manually delete the
    hyperlink (visited) and hyperlink (unvisited) styles from the sheet
    for the topic. Is there a way to do this
    en masse?
    Also, how do I delete an unneeded css from the
    project?

    Dan
    Have you tried applying your custom .css via the Appearance
    tab on the Topic Properties.
    When you import, a .css (with the name of the Word Document)
    is automatically created in the project. You can change the .css on
    one topic (or on bulk topics) to use your custom .css. Once all the
    topics have been the correct .css, you can then just remove the
    unwanted style sheets that were creating during the import.

  • Hyperlink Styles

    Hi,
    This is going to sound like a really dumb question but I am having trouble finding good info on the web. I am trying to make a document in INdesign Cs5 on a mac running os x and want to make a hyperlink. I am not so much concerned about making the hyperlink functional since it will only be included on a printed document. Mosty I am just looking for the character style. In many programs as soon as you type a url it is automatically changed to a hyperlink character style. How do you do this InIndesign?

    You would have to apply a Character Style something like this

  • Pages Default Hyperlink Style

    I want to change the default hyperlink style but don't see any means to. The default is the blue underlined text which is a bit MS Word. I can create a new style and convert it but this is an extra step I'd like not to have to take!
    Any ideas for changing the hyperlink default style?
    Thanks.

    Yes, but we are talking about cutting and pasting text which contains URLs into a Pages document. Pages has its own style for hyperlinks - blue text that is underlined. This is what I wanted to alter.
    Anyway I found a solution for anyone else who is looking to do this.
    Make a new character style of how you want the hyperlinks to look, e.g. no underlining, but bold text. When you insert the text and Pages auto-detects the hyperlinks and applies its own style, but click the downward arrow next to "None" in the character style window, and choose "Select All Uses of None" and it will highlight all the hyperlinks. You can now click your character style and it will be applied to all the hyperlinks.
    I don't know if this is a bug as such (as the style is not "None"  - it is Apple's default style for hyperlinks) but at least it does the job.

  • Design view different from preview  -  is muse still in beta testing

    I have limited experience with coding html so when Adobe released Muse, I was excited. However, I'm wondering if they released it too soon and/or if it is still in beta testing - which I don't mind but would like to know what I'm dealing with. It seems to have a lot of quirks - mainly that the design view is sometimes different from the preveiw or browser view. I spent over an hour yesterday trying to get text boxes to line up. If there is an hidden element affecting the text boxes, I don't see it. I have moved everything off the page and >selected all
    and nothing shows up.
    Other issues:
    Sometimes paragraph styles do not apply - even though in design view it looks like they do.
    Can't find a way to center text vetically in a text box other than adjusting the leading?
    Can't find a way to organize assets into folders?
    When an object is selected on a page, is there a way to indicate that that is the object in the assests panel?
    Sometimes the padding options are not available for no apparent reason.
    Thanks to the Adobe staff for being responsive as these issues are discovered. One staff member in particular was very helpful as I was trying to get hyperlinks to work right. But I am STILL having a problem. The text box and the text itself have the hyperlink style applied but as you can see on the Dardanelle and Chad Lawson Trio hyperlinks - the style did not take even though they are both hyperlinks that point to the right URL.  -- geezermusicclub is the correct link for Dardanelle - It's difficult to see in the pic, but the Dardanelle and Chad Lawson text color is black but the hyperlink text style is brown.
    Persoanlly, I feel Adobe should lower the subcription price while all these kinks are being worked out in Muse. In a way, subscribers are **** a LOT of beta testing for Adobe. Not only are we not being compensated for that, we are having to pay for an application that has too many wrinkles.

    Murray and David: it worked! It is a rare and joyous experience to have a straightforward solution to the sorts of problems I come up with (including other realms). But I have to say that with HTML and CSS (and hence with Dreamweaver), solutions to difficulties have seemed within easier reach than in other parts of the computer world.
    By the way, I wanted to choose "correct answer" for both your posts, but after making the first click it was no longer available for the remaining post--so I typed "helpful" even though that one was correct too.
    Thanks again.

  • InDesign and truncated hyperlinks after PDF conversion

    I have encountered what may be a similar problem to the one experienced by Greg Hogan posted on 10-01-2007 (http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?224@@[email protected])
    I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 1.5 GHz Pentium M processor, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP/Pro, and InDesign CS3 (v. 5.0.1).
    Problem description:
    I have a multipage InDesign document with multiple hyperlinks, and some of those hyperlinks are very long and require more than one line. The hyperlinks that require more than one line look OK after conversion to PDF, but, if I hover the mouse over the link in the PDF, all the characters in the URL on the second line are missing, and the link doesnt work. I first discovered this using Acrobat Professional 7. I recently downloaded a trial version of Acrobat Professional 8, and I still have the problem, so I have concluded that the problem is with InDesign, not Acrobat.
    Yes, I know I can create a hyperlink character style with the no break feature enabled. However, that can result in appearance and text flow problems.
    Is there a fix available?

    I found the instructions on creating named hyperlinks in the InDesign Help file to be incomplete. Here is what I do, if I want a text hyperlink that "masks" a long URL (especially a long URL that wraps to a second line and gets truncated in a PDF):
    Let's say I want a hyperlink in my InDesign document to say:
    Membership Application
    I type that text into the document. Then I highlight it (not absolutely necessary, I think, but I find it helpful).
    Open the Hyperlinks panel: Window/Interactive/Hyperlinks
    Click on New Hyperlink Destination (NOT "new Hyperlink From URL"). Select URL from the "Type" drop down box. The highlighted text will appear in the "Name" field. Enter (or paste) the complete URL into the "URL" field. Click OK.
    Now, click on "New Hyperlink" in the Hyperlinks panel. With the text you want highlighted, that will show up in the "Name" field at the top of the dialog box.
    In the "Destination" Section of the "New Hyperlinks" dialog box, select "URL" from the "Type" drop down box, and (once you have more than one link), the name of that link that you earlier assigned from the "Name" drop down box.
    The correct URL will appear in the "URL" field.
    You also have some "Appearance" choices that you can make from this panel. When you are finished with your selections, click OK. The link "Name" will show in the Hyperlinks panel.
    Use a Character Style to apply a text color, and perhaps, a different font to the link.
    If you subsequently want to change the "Appearance" features, click on "Hyperlink Destination Options" from the Hyperlinks panel.
    The link name example I used, Membership Application, isn't likely to wrap (and therefore be truncated in a PDF), but suppose you had a really long URL like this:
    http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/12/24/technology/LA-TEC-Peru-One-Laptop-One-Village.ph p?page=1
    and a narrow column. You could use "OLPC Article" as a link name (for example), and paste the complete URL into the appropriate field. Your link will work in InDesign (you can test this by selecting the link in the Hyperlinks panel and clicking on "Go To Destination"--provided you are connected to the internet). The link will NOT be truncated in a PDF and will therefore work in the converted file--provided you have checked "Hyperlinks" in the Include section of the Export Adobe PDF dialog box (under "General").
    This sequence is reasonably straightforward, if a little tedious. However, it took me a while to figure it out. To me, the instructions in the Help file (and 2 other books) are not as clear as they could (and should) be. Perhaps the sequence is obvious to the vast majority of InDesign users.

  • Insert String to JTextPane as hyperlink

    Hi,
    I have a JTabbedPane with 2 tabs, on each tab is one panel.
    On first pannel I add JTextPane and I would like to insert in this JTextPane some hyperlinks.
    I found some examples in forum, but doesn't work for me.
    Could somebody help me ?
    Thank's.
    Here is my code :
    JTextPane textPane = new JTextPane();
    textPane.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(500,300));
    HTMLEditorKit m_kit = new HTMLEditorKit();
    textPane.setEditorKit(m_kit);
    StyledDocument m_doc = textPane.getStyledDocument();
    textPane.setEditable(false); // only then hyperlinks will work
    panel1.add( textPane,BorderLayout.CENTER); //add textPane to panel of
    //JTabbedPane
    String s = new String("http://google.com");
    SimpleAttributeSet attr2 = new SimpleAttributeSet();
    attr2.addAttribute(StyleConstants.NameAttribute, HTML.Tag.A);
    attr2.addAttribute(HTML.Attribute.HREF, s);
    try{
    m_doc.insertString(m_doc.getLength(), s, attr2);
    }catch(Exception excp){};
    The String s is displayed like text not like hyperlink..

    Hi , You can take a look at this code , this code inserts a string into a StyledDocument in a JTextPane as a hyperlink and on clicking fires the URL on the browser.

                        ex.printStackTrace();
                 public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
                         execute();
    }Here , what I have done is associated a mouseListener and a mouseMotionListener with the JTextPane and I have created the hyperlink look with a Style of blue color and underline and have added the LINK_ATTRIBUTE to that Style which takes care of listening to mouse clicks and mouse motion.
    The browser can be started in windows using the default FileProtocolHandler using rundll32 and in Unix/Sun we have to take a wild guess at which browser could be installed , the first browser encountered is started , in Mac open command takes care of starting the browser.
    Hope this is useful.

  • [JS InDesign CS3] Style groups, begone! (or: How do I take paragraph and character styles out of style groups?)

    Sorry for this question (and my terrible English, by the way), I'm a javascript noob and I know when I've reached my limits.
    Well, I'm trying to take a set of paragraph and character styles out of the style groups they are placed in, in hundreds of InDesign documents (that cannot be treated as a book). As far as I've tried (thanks to the invaluable help of previous posts in this forum) I've been able to move a style into a group and change it's position inside the group, inside the root level or even between groups. But it doesn't matter how I try, I don't know which move reference should I try in case I want to take every style out of their style group and place them after their original group folder, at the [Root] style level .
    I have tried:
    var doc=app.activeDocument;
    var pGroups=doc.paragraphStyleGroups;
    for (i=pGroups.length-1; i>=0; i--){
         var pStylesInGroup=pGroups[i].paragraphStyles;
         for (j=pStylesInGroup.length-1; j>=0; j--){
    // Here I am, trying to move a style outside the folder that contains it, and failing miserably.
              pStylesInGroup[j].move (LocationOptions.after, pGroups[i]);
    It didn't work, the script sent an invalid parameter value in the reference field, so I cant use the group folder itself as reference.
    Tried other (obviously wrong) solutions, like use the first available style as reference. Therefore, my second script was
    var doc=app.activeDocument;
    var pStyles=doc.allParagraphStyles;
    var pGroups=doc.paragraphStyleGroups;
    for (i=pGroups.length-1; i>=0; i--){
         var pStylesInGroup=pGroups[i].paragraphStyles;
         for (j=pStylesInGroup.length-1; j>=0; j--){
    // Now I try placing the styles after the [Basic Paragraph], that is, the second paragraph style in the document style list
              pStylesInGroup[j].move (LocationOptions.after, pStyles[1]);
    It didn't work either, another invalid parameter in the reference field. Similar results with my other attempts (I even tried "[Root]" as literal with similar luck).
    So, my question is: Which command (or script, in case my whole approach is utterly wrong) should I use to achieve my goal?
    Thanks in advance to whoever decides to spend more than a minute thinking about my humble worries, and my apologies for shamelessly ripping some of your lines of code for my purposes.

    Okay, tried a few things and got really weird results!
    1. You can move a style around inside its group.
    2. You can move a style out of a group "to" another, but it will appear 'inside' that style. I got my test style as a sub-item of [Basic Paragraph], using index #1. With index #0 ([No Paragraph Style]) InDesign crashed.
    3. You can duplicate the style, but then you get a copy in the same group. Still no luck.
    4. Finally! What is the parent of a paragraph style?
    Document | Application | ParagraphStyleGroup
    "Application" is easy -- that's when you make a style global. So what's the difference between 'Document' and 'paragraphStyleGroup'? Simple -- well, when you finally get it...
    pStylesInGroup[j].move (LocationOptions.AT_END, doc);
    moves the style out of the group and to the end of the list in the document. I don't think it's possible to move it directly to a specific position into the main style list -- you first have to move it out of a group, then move it around in its own list.
    Fortunately, it returns its new position as a ParagraphStyle again, so if needed, you can use
    newStyle = pStylesInGroup[j].move (LocationOptions.AT_END, doc);
    newStyle.move (LocationOptions.AFTER, pStyles[1]);
    -- I didn't really try that out, but it should work.

  • [CS3 JS] Correcting a Character Style Anomaly

    It used to be that you could define a character style to merely colour the text and give it an underline (e.g. for Hyperlinks) or just superscript the text (for Reference citations). When such styles, which do not call for a particular font or font size, are placed into InDesign CS, the styled text would take on the font and font size of the underlying paragraph style. However, after placing a Word .doc with these styles into a CS2 template, the font and font size becomes Times New Roman and 10 pt. The solution was to save an .rtf file and re-import the text. Now, in CS3 this work-around doesnt quite work: the font is okay, but the font size reverts to that default size of 10 pt.
    So, I would like a script that finds all occurrences of two specific character styles (Hyperlink and bibref) and then corrects the font size of the found text to that of the underlying paragraph style. These styles can appear anywhere within a document, including in tables. I have trawled through this forum and found enough to be able to search for the character styles, but I cannot fathom how to apply the font size of the underlying paragraph style. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    By the way, re-applying the character styles doesnt work because the character styles dont define the font size; also clearing the overrides on the paragraph style while the text is selected isnt a viable solution, because other local formatting (i.e. italic) would be lost.

    Hi Peter
    Thank you very much for your quick response. I tried your script and it did as you intended by clearing the Font, Font Style and Point Size in the character style, but unfortunately it did not correct the problem of the style becoming some default style and size (Times New Roman 10 pt) when placed into ID.
    In fact, I had already set up the 'bibref' and 'Hyperlink' character styles with these fields blanked out. Also, I made Adobe aware of this bug when CS2 came out and they warned me that CS3 wouldn't fix the problem; but I didn't realize that CS3 would be worse than CS2 so that using an rtf file wouldn't fix things.
    So, I am left with my initial query: is it possible to write a script to search for the character styles in question and apply the font size of the underlying paragraph style?
    Thanks a lot for any help you can give.

  • InDesign CS3 crashes when applying styles to pasted text with formatting.

    Running InDesign CS3, v. 5.0.2 on Windows XP, SP2
    InDesign is crashing whenever I do the following:
    1. Paste or place text from Microsoft Word -- with existing formatting preserved.
    2. Apply any character or paragraph style to that text.
    This happens 100% of the time when I try to recreate the error. It happens on more than one computer. It never used to happen in IDCS2. It's not a missing font issue.
    I've tried recreating the InDesign preference files, but it didn't work. (See help file at http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb400616&sliceId=1)
    Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated! This is slowing down my work a ton, and manually adding things like underline is killing me. If it persists, I'll have to roll back to CS2. :(

    We had exactly the same issue - but it only seemed to happen when a "Hyperlink" character style came in with the pasted text. In fact, the crash only happened when we tried to apply a paragraph style to a paragraph that had a hyperlink in it.
    Our solution: before we try to do anything else, we delete the "Hyperlink" character style. I can't guarantee that this will solve your issue, but it has worked for us (so far!) in those rare cases when we cut & paste Word text.
    We have never had this issue when we import ("Place") the Word file - that's generally a better workflow anyway.

  • Hyperlinks in epubs? Indesign CC 2014

    Hi everyone,
    Apologies if this has been asked before, but I have search and can't seem to find an answer. I have created an ePub for iBooks/iPad. Inserted hyperlinks, tests ok in the dialog box, but doesn't work at all on the iPad. I know the link works as I printed the book to PDF and it worked. I am using the Fixed Layout.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Vic

    Hi Steve, I am a regular subscriber to Creative Cloud and have updated all apps.  My version of Adobe InDesign does show 2014.1 under About InDesign.
    Believe it or not, one of the more helpful videos out in Adobe TV land showed interactive under the Object menu:
    See 5:30 on this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/interactivity-fixed-layout-epub.html?set=indesign- -key-techniques--epub-fixed-layout  I finally found the answer here at Adobe forums (monica).   Now I have it installed in the panel on the right.
    I'm on an iMac and use all Apple products.   I've tossed Windows to the wind.
    Thank you so much for your support.
    Mary
