Hyperlinks to bookmarks

When i get my printed documentation as a pdf. The hyperlinks that link to Figures and Tables, via bookmarks, don't work. However, the hyperlinks that are linked to Sections and headers within sections do work.
How do i get the hyperlinks for figures and tables to work?

No, I didn't plan on printing. I wanted it to be viewed online.
What do you mean that's how the process works? Is it impossible for the links to bookmarks to work in a pdf?
The Apple help said that hyperlinks work, but widgets don't.

  • Cannot Export PDF with Hyperlinks and Bookmarks

    August 1, 2008
    Hi Everyone,
I've recently upgraded to InDesign CS3. I opened a 40 page document that was completed in InDesign CS2. When I try to export to a PDF (with include hyperlinks and bookmarks) the program quits once it reaches the 5th page.
I've tried exporting without hyperlinkes and bookmarks checked and PDFing works fine. I had no previous PDFing issues when working in CS2.
    Any suggestions/tips/guesses would be appreciated.
    Thank you,

Hi! I need help w indesigns hyperlink...
I am working on a long document and have 5 files, I was able to use hyperlink on each one that way the reader could jump fr one file (or page) to another. The hyperlink worked perfectly on PDF. Now I need to merge these five PDF's into 1 PDF file but the hyperlink that I have created on individual files doesnt work in a combined PDF. Is there a run-around on this? Any suggestions? I'm just new in indesign and need inputs. Thanks!
Im using Windows XP and CS3.

  • Hyperlink to bookmark

When you create a hyperlink to a book mark the linked items color is changed to red. Using the inspector you can change the color of the item to any color on the pallet. However the color of the linked item as changed only displays at full page. Is this normal behavior?

Ok went through that process and nothing has changed. This issue appeared in Lion and I have since upgraded to Mountain Lion and the problem has not been resolved. So everything I am running is at the latest versions including the upgrade to iBooks Author which came with Mountain Lion.
This is really a cosmetic issue which does not affect the performance of the book. Where it just stands out is on my index page where every alphabetical item in columns is a hyperlink to a bookmark and in this case the whole page appears to be 'Red' text but this changes to the assigned colour as previously described.
Now I can understand why Apple in the iBooks Author software would want to show the author/publisher which text was a hyperlink by maintaining the default color so my guess is that this is a code issue and not a setting in the application.
I guess what Apple need to consider is when you export as an .iBook then these items should be changed to the assigned color when viewed on the iPad rather than being left at the default color 'Red'.
I guess I can live with it in the meantime but I hope that Apple are reading this post because I beleive that it might be an issue that they need to address. Thanks for you help Ken which was very much appreciated. If there is any magic which I am not aware of please let me know. Cheers Ant..

  • Hyperlinks to bookmarks not working

When I create a hyperlink to a bookmark it works fine when I create it: as soon as the bookmark is chosen from the drop-down menu the link takes me to it. However when I subsequently click the hyperlink (with the 'make all hyperlinks inactive' box unchecked) nothing happens. Hyperlinks to webpages work fine. I'm using iBooks Author version 2.1.3 and Mavericks version 10.9.5. I've scoured the net but no-one else seems to be having this problem so I guess I must be making some elementary blunder. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure how some of the links in one of my notes were created.
My thinkng is that there are many applications that can make the determination that something that starts with http:// or https:// can be made to behave as a hyperlink
I do know that I did not purposely create a hyperlink and then paste it into my note.
Also, the only time that I receive the Open URL option in the services is when I select text.  E.G  if i have text in my Note like  jguitar.com  and I select the text and then choose Notes > Services, the Open URL option appears and the link will open.  If I select the word jguitar all by itself/alone, the option doesn't appear, so the application can tell if it is a possible choice for opening a URL.
    Something isn't quite adding up......

  • Bookmarks vs. Hyperlink Anchor Bookmarks

    Hi! I am using CS5.
Bookmarks that I create via the Bookmarks Panel all have the little anchor icon and can be used as destinations for hyperlinks. But the bookmarks that I create via script work as bookmarks, but do not have the anchor icon and do not work for hyperlinks. The line that I use to create the bookmark is this:
    myDoc.bookmarks.add({name:my_Chap_Name, destination:my_page});
Thanks for any help that you can provide. And please let me know if you need more information.
    Andy

Well, I've moved ahead on a lot of scripting fronts, but I'm still stuck on this point. So, I'm bumping.
I did find something called a HyperlinkTextDestination, which sounds promising, but I'm still trying to figure out how to set them.

  • How can I convert MS Word to PDF (w/ hyperlinks and bookmarks)?

    Hello,
I have a 1000+ page MS Word document that I'm trying to convert to PDF.
If in MS Word I select Adobe PDF > Convert to Adobe PDF my system hangs. (I've let it sit for over 2.5 hours with no progress.)
I can easily print to a .prn file and then distill the file to create a PDF. However, when I do this method, the PDF comes through with no hyperlinks and no bookmarks. Are there any conversation settings so that this method will create the hyperlinks/bookmarks?
Given the size of the PDF, hyperlinks/bookmarks are extremely important. Any other ideas/tips would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Kara

Please itemize how I can convert a MS Word document into a PDF document.

  • Problem in templates with hyperlinks to bookmarks

    Hi. I'm using Robohelp X5. I have a template with a hyperlink
in the footer, to link to the top of the page. The link works fine
in topics that are in the root HTML Files folder (in the Project
Manager tab) but it doesn't work in topics that are in sub-folders.
The hyperlink target is being prefixed with "../" to account for
the extra level. I have been asked not to use Javascript in the
help, so need to use html. Does anyone know of a way to prevent the
link being altered in the sub-level topics, or some other solution
    to the problem?
I can't ask all the authors not to use folders to organise
their topics, as some of the projects are large and they also use
the folder structure when generating the TOC. I'd also rather not
have to advise them to create a different version of the template
for each folder in the topic structure, which is the only other way
round it I can think of. Any advice would be greatly
    appreciated.

    Hi again Kat
Hmmm, quite a conundrum you have there, eh?
Well, there is one other possibility. Similar to the number
42, you probably won't like it much. But here goes anyway.
Assuming you are the person who has final say over the
project, meaning that you are the only one that generates and
distributes and the others are simply contributors, you could use
something like ReplacEm or FAR to perform a small post generation
process of performing a search and replace. You would search only
the folders for the desired string looking for ../# and eliminate
the ../ or possibly even ../../ or ../../../ depending on how many
    folder levels you have.
Besides that, I'm about out of ideas.
    Sincerely... Rick

  • Hyperlink word with bookmark not converted in HTML

    Hi,
I use RH10 to create an HTML help from several Word documents.
I have a problem with Word hyperlink that is not converted in the HTML output. In my RH10 project, i have 2 link word document. I created with Word an hyperlink with bookmark in a document called docA.docx on another Word document called docB.docx. The docB.docx document contains the bookmark called by the docA.docx document. The hyperlink property in Word is "docB.docx#myBookmark".
This hyperlink works fine with Word, when i clic on the link in the docA.docx the docB.docs document is open by Word.
Problem appears when i update the word document in RH10 to generate HTML document. The HTML hyperlink token href="" is generated so there is no hyperlink on the HTML output.
When i remove the bookmark in the Word document the HTML hyperlink token href="docB.docx" is generated. So i don't know if it's a RH10 bug or if this feature is not supported by RH10.
For information, i used hyperlink with bookmark because cross-reference is not allowed with multiple document.
    Regards,

your example show a conversion of a cross-reference in Word.
I'm talking about classic hyperlink in Word.
    Clic on hyperlink
Select an another Word file containing a bookmark
Clic on the "Bookmark" button in english version of Word ("Signet..." in my french version) and select the bookmark
When you clic on "OK" button the hyperlink path is updated with the bookmark
And this path link is not converted in the HTML generated by RH. If i change the "#" by another character the generation is ok.

  • Hyperlink/bookmarks pointing at the bottom of the page

We have a problem with the behaviour of hyperlinks and bookmarks pointing to external documents in Adobe 7.0 and 9.0.  When we click on these bookmarks/hyperlinks, the target document opens at the bottom of the page. If the user's page setting is set to "continuous pages" it appears that these bookmarks/hyperlinks open to the next page but the adobe pagination at the bottom of the screen still shows the correct page. If the user's page setting is set to "single page" the bookmark/hyperlink opens the document to the correct page but at the bottom of the page (when the zoom is set to magnification 66% and above) .  We are not sure why the document is opening at the bottom of the page. The document properties - initial view settings are for Page layout and Magnification: Default.  Does anybody know why this is happening and how can it get resolved?

    Hello,
Did you install the PL/SQL Web Toolkit version that come with the APEX 3.x distribution file?
Please follow the instructions in the readme file, to check if you need to upgrade your db installed version, and if so, how to do it - http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/install.300/b32468/pre_require.htm#BABGBJJD .

  • PDF from PostScript file with hyperlinks/bookmarks

Is there a way to include hyperlinks and bookmarks when printing to Postscript file.
Direct Export to PDF creates a huge file size so I need to go the PostScript/Distiller route.

Would it not be possible to use the famous Acrobat Replace Pages featurebug/bugfeature here? (Hyperlinks on, and bookmarks to pages do not get replaced when you replace those.)
    Something like:
    1. Export to PDF.
    2. Print and Distill.
    3. Replace all pages in the document from step 1 with those from step 2.
    4. Done.

  • Export Large Indesign Document to Hyperlinked/Bookmarked PDF

I am trying to export a 600+ Indesign book as a PDF with hyperlinks and bookmarks but it constantly crashes. I have tried many things, including splitting the document into small batches, exporting and appending the pdfs but that is most time-consuming and definitely not efficient. I am using CS5. Does anyone have any solutions. Thanks.

There’s a script floating around but it’s easier to export one PDF and then use the extract pages command in Acrobat to make single pages.

  • Is there a way to link from one application to another? Like Hyperlink but instead of cyberspace just internal. Application linking.

In "Pages" you can Hyper Link a word or phrase by going to Inspector Link highlight the word or pharse click on "Enable as a hyperlink" and then place a URL address. The highlighted word or phrase will now be blue and anytime I click on it I will be taken the the URL address.
What I want to do is that exacltly, but I want to able to link a word or a phrase to another internal Mac application.
Example from Pages to Logos Bible Software.

    Feature not available.
Hyperlinks and bookmarks are used in documents that will be viewed onscreen, either as HTML files or as Pages documents. You can add hyperlinks to jump to another page or to open an email message or a webpage on the Internet. Use bookmarks to mark passages in the document that you want to refer to as you work.
This I found in the Pages User Guide, downloadable from your Pages Help menu, on pagge 110.

  • Acrobat 9 and Internal Word Hyperlinks

I currently have a Word document that contains many hyperlinks and bookmarks. A majority of the hyperlinks in the document link back to bookmarks in the document so that you can click on a link and it will take you to another location in the document. When I use PDF Maker in Word 2007 or even create a PDF from a file in Acrobat 9, I lose all of those links. This also includes the Word created links for the Table of Contents. Is there a way to create a PDF, but retain those hyperlinks?
    Thanks,
    Merg

I finally figured out how to add the TOC bookmarks to a PDF.  One of the reasons this was so challeging is that I moved up to Microsoft Office 2010 from Microsoft Office 2003 which used to convert the hyperlinks automatically.  Add to that the fact that I can not access the PDF add in options without Office 2010 freezing, it proved to be a hard task.   Also, if you try to print with the adobe printer, these options are not available.  You must use the Create PDF/XPS document to find the options until there is a patch.
    Here are the steps:
Adding TOC from Office 2010 to PDF 9
When you are ready to convert your document, go to the file tab.
On the file tab, select Save & Send.
    Select Create PDF/XPS Document.
Look below where the file format bar says PDF.  You will see a box that says Options.
This is where you add the word TOC and convert them into PDF bookmarks.
Under the name Include non printing information, check the boxes Create Bookmarks Using & Headings.
I hope this really helps you out.  I also was having a hard time with the TOC.  It would have been trouble adding each of these one by one.

  • Can't create hyperlinks after converting a Word document with Acrobat XI Pro

    Hello,
    Here's my problem.
I'm making a catalog document for my company.
The document that I'm converting to PDF is made on Office Word 2013 and it's a .docx format file.
I'm on Windows 8 and the latest version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed.
Inside my word document I have some pictures that have a hyperlink. Those hyperlinks directionate to a bookmark inside the word document. Inside the word document, if I do Ctrl+Click over the image, it will go to the page that has that bookmark. And it works. Period.
Beside that I also have some Cross-references on the word document. Those cross-references basically are the page number from the bookmark reference. By accident on most of those cross-refrences I left enabled the "Insert as hyperlink" on the cross-reference box options. When I Ctrl+Click over those cross-references I also go into the page of that cross-reference.
After I convert the word document into pdf, I can't get any hyperlink on the pictures, if I simply click on them, like if I click on a hyperlink on a webpage or something similar, the pdf won't go the the bookmark on the page that I've set on the word document.
The funny thing is that if I click on the other cross-references I can go to the page were that cross-reference is...
I tried all the methods to convert the file in order to obtain hyperlinks on the images...
I tried to use the Acrobat tab and the File -> Save as Adobe PDF, as both uses Acrobat PDFMaker, but nothing works.
Even tried all options on Acrobat PDFMaker but can't get it. "Create bookmarks", "Add links", "Convert Word Bookmarks", "...Word Styles to Bookmarks", "...Word Headings to Bookmarks", none works....
If I try to simply print from inside Word by choosing the Adobe PDF printer (like if I choose a regular printer), in the printers options it doesn't show up any hyperlink/link/bookmark option related, so that way is definitely a no go...
To reference, on 2006/2007 I also worked on a similar project and used this method on the word document (on Word 2003). At that time I had another Adobe Acrobat version, can't remember what version was...
This hyperlink situation was without any problem. After conversion, on the pdf file, if I click on a image it went to the right place inside that pdf file...
So I'm simply lost wether it's a problem of me, a problem of Word, a problem from Acrobat... simply lost...
    I'm desperated....please, someone help me!!!

Ok, sorry for never talk since the last time, but I finally discovered why I had this problem.
I found out that M$ decided somehow to change the process of embedded hyperlinks on a image, but in a docx it doesn't get affected. Only after transforming it into a pdf by Acrobat that the problem emerges...
    I found this site http://www.pb-solv.net/2013/08/embed-pictures-in-microsoft-word.html
Basically all I have to do is "Use Insert, Quick Parts, Field, IncludePicture. This inserts the picture in the old way as a field. You can use Alt-F9 to reveal the field codes and change the images to be embedded rather than linked."
Then, after converting it with acrobat, the pdf finally have hyperlinks on the images!!!
They change this on Word 2007. As I had the 2003, at the time, I didn't had this problem.
As I said, M$ changed something, but only is affected after converting with acrobat. So, acrobat also missed something in the process. I call it a 50/50 guilt.
To bad no one ever notice this problem...

  • Hyperlink to a later page/text in a pages document

how do i hyperlink a piece of text, say on page one of a 66 pages document, to another pece of text on page 53 of the same document?

    Hi,
Open Pages '09 Help (in the Help menu when you're running Pages).
    Search "hyperlink"
Choose the first topic, "*Using Hyperlinks and Bookmarks*"
Look in the list on that page for "*Using a bookmark hyperlink to go to another page in the same document*" and click the link beside it.
    Regards,
    Barry
