Hyperlinks within Object States?

Is it feasible to have working hyperlinks (to URLs) in text contain inside an Object State?

I'm thinking you could achieve this as follows.
You could insert a Click Box that you would use to pause the project. The trick would be to time it so it pauses at the right time. You would then configure it as Hidden by clicking the Options tab and clearing the Visible check box. (If it isn't visible, it won't pause).
Now you configure your Click Box for Multiple actions. The first action would be to open the URL in a New window. The second action would be to show the hidden Click Box you inserted to pause the project.

How can i enlarge a graphic within an existing object state

Hi all.
I am currently building a swf file for my daughters homework.
I need to enlarge the scroll so the viewer can read it properly. The text either side and the scroll are grouped together and are currently part of an object state hence the green button. I thought this would be straight forward but because the scroll is already part of an object state im unable to create another object state for the scroll to enlarge.
I have tried various different work arounds but nothing is working out. It might mean i should have constructing it a different way so im more than happy to rearrange my document to get this thing working.
If you can help i will be more than happy to email you my swf file so you can view it properly.

Make two instances, large and small, of the scroll
Make the small instance a button
Make the larger instance a button
Add both instances to a Multi-state object (MSO)
Name the states Small and Large appropriately
Click the Small State in the MSO panel
Double click the MSO to access that State
On the Buttons Panel click the Plus Sign Beside the Action
Name = Enlarge
Event = On Click
Object = MSO
State = Large
Then go the Large MSO in the Panel
and do the same but activating the Small image instead
That should do it

Links in object states don't work

I have an object state with several text boxes, hyperlinks and buttons works fine, UNTIL i create buttons to control the object states appearance. Then the integrated links in the mso don't work.
Have tried with new document, new folio etc. As soon as I delete buttons to control the mso, the links works perfect. HELP please

You can solve this problem putting the buttom outside the MSO. And recreate the links inside the MSO.

Object state not working if exported in PDF

I'm working with Digital Publishing Suite and I have deeply appreciated the function "Object state". When used in connection with buttons and, eventually, the "Overlay Creator" it enables superb effects.
I wonder about the fact that this helpful function does'nt work if the document is exported in PDF.
Just in fact, at the moment, this feature works only with DPS, but I know that it is present since CS4, in times when DPS did'nt exist.
Can you explain this?
And when will be available in PDF exported documents?

Hi Rahul,
I have created the hyperlinks in the interactive (html) mode.
While creating the hyperlink you just need to check one option "Use Complete URL path". This option will enable the hyperlink
in the pdf mode too.
FYI.. I am on BO XI 3.1

Hyperlinks within Crystal Reports

I am using Crystal Reports to create a statement. We would like to include hyperlinks in our report. We have already created hyperlinks within the report. The hyperlinks are only operational when I click within the subreport. I want to process my report to a PDF and have the hyperlinks work. Any Suggestions? I am currently working in Crystal 8.5 (we have 10 but our database is not matching up).

As an alternative, at least one of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports Manager tools listed at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html can use visible or hidden (white font) formulas anywhere within a Crystal report (including inside subreports) to create file, web, or email links at that same location within the pdf export of the report. Optionally, an image (such as a .png button image can be added to provide a GUI for the link.

I am using Crystal Reports to create a statement. We would like to include hyperlinks in our report. We have already created hyperlinks within the report. The hyperlinks are only operational when I click within the subreport. I want to process my report to a PDF and have the hyperlinks work. To create the hyperlinks, we placed a forumla into the hyperlink tab to an existing webpage. The formula that we have established grabs data from our database and places it into the webpage browser address. Any Suggestions? I am currently working in Crystal 11.5.

U can include any text rt click on it goto format text
Hyperlink tab and add any type of hyperlink there.
If you want to add something specific please do let me know

Hyperlinks within css

hello all. i am stumped as to how to create a hyperlink within a css object. basically have a box, within that box is text, i would like the entire box to be able to hyperlink not just the text. i can see in the page properties at the bottom of the page in html view you can link the text, but i want the enire box to be the hyperlink.
i messed around with the hyperlink chain link in the top menu bar, but when i choose the page i want to link to it puts text below my box, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to control Object States of different objects with single button?

I have a set of Images, stacked one on the other. I have selected all of them & created Object States for them. I also have a set of Text Objects, each containing a description of the images. These text objects are also stacked on top of each other & I've created object states for them too. I have two buttons which go to previous state & next state. When I do a mouse release operation on these buttons, only my images are moving from state to state.
My question is how do I control the states of these different types of objects (images & type) so that they change states in sync with each other - I want to have an image 1 with its description, then image 2 with its description & so on. Thanks in advance.

Above select statement uses pa_periods view which only works when I set my client using "exec DBMS_Application_Info.set_client_info(83);" in Toad or SQL*Plus session.
I was wondering how can I achieve it within select statement. so that I don't have to use another PL/SQL statement to set my client. Is there anyway to set client with my org id within above select statement ?

You can simply create a function which calls dbms_application_info and use that in your sql statement as in

ITunes opens and within seconds states it has to close. I've uninstalled

iTunes will open, but within seconds states it 'Has to close'. Occasionally, I'll see a notice for an update and quickly click to 'Download update?', but when I click on 'Download', a new page opens with 'Thanx for updating', except it hasn't downloaded the update. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times, but that hasn't helped. My phone is a 5S and it won't sync to iTunes either.

Try working through TS1717: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues to start with.
Otherwise, for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Problem with object state...

Hi guys
So I have this grid with 25 pictures.
And I would like to use each of these pictures as a button. This button will trigger a frame with text in the center of the grid, like so :
The X close the text frame and the user go back to the grid.
But, I have 2 problems. I can mak a object state of the text frame and the button triggers one state (open/close for exemple) and it work. But if I click on the second square without closing the first text frame, the text frame linked to the first square is still there, underneath...
Is there a way to 1 : a click triggers the texte square link to it AND close all the other
Or is there an easier way to do it without object state?

You have the grid of pics as your background. Then buld a state for each photo/description.
If you have have 16 pictures you'd build 16 different states for them. Combine them all into one MSO.
You'll need to put the buttons into each state to make it work and you'll need one state with only the buttons with no fill or stroke over the background grid.
You'll need to experiment to decide if you want the buttons to be live for all of the images in each state. It's lots of buttons and there's no automated way to do it, but it works well and avoids the problem that you're having now.

Hyperlinks within .PDF document won't open in browser.

So what I want to happen is when I click a hyperlink within a .PDF file which is opened via Adobe Reader XI, I want a new tab/browser (the link) to be opened with/in Chrome.
Currently when I hover my mouse over a link, it turns into a clicky hand thing with a tiny letter 'w' and the address floats above in a box. When I try to shift/normal/ctrl click the link, nothing happens.

Yes. If I open this .pdf file in chrome and click the link, a new tab will open with the link.
Also, I just found something else out. When I open the settings in Adobe Reader and try clicking on the 'help' links such as 'What is protected view' under 'security', I get a message saying "Online help content cannot be displayed. Verify you can launch your web browser and have access to the Internet".

Can ObjectStates become buttons that link to another object state?

Hi. I am working on Adobe CS5 and I am trying to create an Image gallery. I know how to create the basic type which is stacking the images, making them as object states, and then linking the navigation buttons to "Next State".
The type of image gallery i'm trying to make involves thumbnails. In the thumbnails menu, there are back and forward arrows that will move the thumbnails from left to right. The way i did it was grouping the thumbnail images, convert them as object states, and just do the Left/Right animation through the Object State menu. The problem is, I can't make those thumbnails link to the picture it is assigned to. The Object states that appear in the button menu is just the object state of the thumbnails and not the Image viewer it self.
If it is needed that i post a SWF demonstration of this, can someone show me how to?

What I'm trying to do is have a scroll like action with the thumbnails and when the user clicks the specific picture/thumbnail, the enlarged image will appear on the top.
the only way i can create the scrolling action is by making the thumbnails into MOS and just change their position in each state. the problem is I can't link the thumbnails specifically to the image it is supposed to display. I hope this explanation helps.

Object States panel not working in CS6, please help!

I have InDesign CS6 installed (same license) on my work computer and home computer. The Object States panel works just fine at home. But at work the panel shows up, but it is always blank even though I have an object selected that has a State applied to it.
I am thinking I need to uninstall/reinstall and hopefully it will work again.
On a side note, when I save the file down to CS5 from CS6 and open in CS5, the Object States is now visible. I attached a photo. Top two images are screen grabs from file opened in CS6. Bottom two photos are same file opened in CS5. See how the Object States are visible in CS5 and not in CS6.

Thjnis sort of problem is usually fixed by trashing the prefs. See Replace Your Preferences
