Hypertext lost in video. Sometimes.

I created a Quicktime export of a Keynote presentation but  lost the hypertext when reading the video, altoutgh it works on others Quicktime exports I did earlier ( not on the same file )
My presentation is finished, the web anchor is prefectly valid, as the file which is supposed to alllow download.
It has been working several times on others vids, but not on this one.
I suspected the Operation animation to corrupt the possibility of download, so I reduce it to it's simplest way, but still not working.
Any idea ?

Any chance you hit detach audio or mute clip in the "clip" menu item?

I've just synched my new iPhone 4s and lost my videos and photos as I opted not to save them when prompted - is there any way to restore these files?

No. Not if you didn't have them backed up somewhere.

Why does Quicktime tell me it can't play certain videos created with my Phantom 2 v3 drone ? I fly the drone and switch back and forth from video to still pics and while I may have filmed four videos , sometimes Quicktime tells me that one of them can't be played . Checking the info shows that each of the unplayed videos was saved in the same mp4 format as the playable ones yet some of my most important videos won't play . It's getting very frustrating .

first; I use Perian, that helps even though it is no longer supported, (must have for avi files)
the apple-cores at apple have gotten very sloppy -- quicktime is a bit finicky and flakey.
example,   occasionally (when copy file from quad's card to hard drive)  the avi will show up as a 'mov' file and qt plays it no problem and no conversion.
but that is very occasionally,  most of the time qt won't convert the file,   -- iMovie won't open an avi without Perian installed  ,  I don't know how that effects qt.
qt 7"pro" is no good either, (qt 10 does everything it does and for NOT the extra $35)
I have gone to VLC  and MPlayerX  for direct playback for drones and cameras.

    Hi jdbarrett1,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take for issues with "other" data taking up too much space:

  • Lost my video camera  when i upgraded to lion.should i upgrade to mountain lion?

lost my video camera capability when i upgraded to lion. any fix? should i upgrade to mountain lion?

If you are saying that you lost support for your video camera under Lion then I would say it's very unlikey the maker of the video camera will support it under Mountain Lion.
If you are talking about the built in camera, then thats different !?

  • HT204291 Plays audio but no video sometimes

Can someone help with my apple tv 2 playing audio but no video sometimes.  The icon comes up in the bottom corner the same as when I play a song and the video does not come on once Ina while.

    paulfromrivercity wrote:
Is that because AirPlay will not do streaming videos, just ones already loaded on the device?
It's as clear as mud but the explanation is here.  My interpretation is that it's a licensing issue.
AirPlay DOES do streaming videos.  Crackle is one example.  Netflix is another but, in the case of Netflix, there is no need for an iPad/iPod.

  • I recently purchased a video from the itunes store and successfully downloaded it to my ipad2. After syncing my ipad , the movie was lost and Videos App only shows Rentals, Podcasts, Music Videos, what happened to my purchased videos, please help

I recently purchased two videos from the itunes store. I downlooaded them both successfully to my ipad2 Videos App, the next time I synced the ipad the Movies title was erased and the remaing titles: Rentals Podcasts & Music Videos were left, what happed to the Movies title? I am now getting a message saying (my ipad does not support movies I purchased) anyone else experiencing this problem, any suggestions?

There is a few events where I could see this happening...
It's possible if you computer is not authorized with your iTunes Store account it may not have transfered your purchases from the iPad to the computer. To check, Open iTunes> Select the "Store" menu along top of the program and select Authorize this computer. Sign in with your AppleID and password, this will make sure your computer is authorized for the future so you can transfer purchases from your device.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
However, if your Movies are missing now you'll need to request to redownload or "regrant" them. Please send an email ticket into iTunes Store via...
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
Select "Video Purchases" in the grey boxes, then "Lost or Missing Items", then click the link to "Email Us" on the right. Fill out that form and the folks at the iTunes Store should get back to you less than 24 hours.

  • Grey songs appear after managing music, and seemed to be unplayable/lost. Videos lost as well. How do i retrieve them?

After doing some actions with my iPod Touch 4G, ALL my music AND video library turned grey, or rather, after pressing the Music app, I received the message, along the lines of "There is no music." This is on my Mac laptop with an older version of itunes, my main music is however backed up on my desktop Mac.
Actions and settings that i took which may have caused the grey-out or loss of my music and videos.
    1. Manually manage music and videos.
    2. Unchecked and rechecked a song, out of sheer interest (this may be the problem) whilst on my laptop
    3. Managing files inside the iPod, using another desktop application whilst the iPod was in my laptop.
    The situation
All music appeared grey in my iPod
    Majority of VIDEOS LOST.
Retrieved most of MY music from my Home Mac via iTunes auto-sync
Friend's music is LOST (greyed out and unplayable in iTunes)
My attempts to retrieve lost music and videos:
    1. Removed my iPod from laptop and attached my iPod to my desktop Mac, and it automatically synced, retrieving the music i had. The music my friend had recently lent me, that is, put in my iPod via his iTunes on PC APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN LOST. My music is in black font on the iPod, but the music my friend had gave me is in light grey/gray font.
Where did this video and music go? Did i delete the music and videos?

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not synced. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer which is not handled by iTunes. Most importing software includes an option to delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete. If is my understanding that some Windows import software supports importing photos from the Camera Roll, but not videos. Regardless, the import software should not delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll unless you set the app to do so.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup. If you synced your iPhone with iTunes before the videos on the Camera Roll went missing and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since they went missing, you can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. Don't sync the iPhone with iTunes again and decline the prompt to update the iPhone's backup after selecting Restore.

  • HP p6710f Lost DVI Video Output

    Hello,
I am using a P6710F HP Desktop with dual monitors. This video card is built onto the motherboard. One is VGA and the other is DVI. Just today I have lost the signal on the DVI, right after a reboot. Is there any tools to test the video ports? I checked with the HP software included with the computer and it says driver is upto date. Any suggestions?

  • Lost sync video speeds up when importing files AVI and MP4

I record my boss from a closed circut CATV system on a DVD.  Then I transfer the VOB file to my hard drive and convert it with MPEG Stream Clip 1.2b2 using the following settings
Codec Apple DV/DCVC Pro - NTSC
    audio - uncompressed
    resolution 720x480 DV/NTSC
It usually works like a charm, in the past I have been able to drop it into Premiere 7.0 or CS4 and edit away.  But today I am having this problem no matter what I do.  The video runs at 2x to 3x normal speed and the audio runs at the regular pace.  Needless to say it is out of sync.  I've tried rendering as an MP4 and Quicktime with the same issue.
I've rebooted my comuter.  I don't understand why it worked before and not now.
    Any advice would be apprecieated.
A real timesaver would be an update to CS4 that allow you to drop a VOB file into the timeline.  It seemed like such a basic file format, and Adobe's pitch for CS4 said it handles almost all video formats, so I didn't even bother to check before I bought.  Got what I deserve.
Oh, I am editing on a Toshiba tecra laptop.  Plenty of RAM and a good processor.
    Thanks
    John

VOB files have their own issues.
To start, they usually are just one part of a video program that contains several .vob files.  Any video program on DVD longer than about 30 minutes will usually be made up of multiple .vob files.
Then there is the issue of the file structure itself.  VOB files don't just contain the video and audio content - they also contain lots of non-media data that provide instructions to the DVD player on how to deal with the media content contained in the file.  The best solution is to strip away that extra data before working with the file(s) by ripping the DVD.  Otherwise, you are relying on your editing software to properly ignore the extra data.  Even dedicated MPEG2/DVD/DVDR editing programs like VideoReDo and Womble have trouble with some .vob files from time to time.
So the bottom line with .vob files is that they sometimes work, sometimes they only work after a file extension change, and sometimes they won't work at all.  Your best bet when re-purposing DVD video is to rip the DVD into usable, editable files.

  • Lost iPod Video - What Should I Do?

    Hello
I've just returned from New York (Apple Store was Amazing), anyway I fell asleep during the flight and with the bump of the landing my iPod Video fell to the floor. I was sandwiched between two people and I’m quick large so I couldn’t reach it. I immediately pressed the cabin crew call button, but they didn’t come until the plane had full landed.
Doors opened and everyone began moving around. I checked six rows in front and 4 behind (was in the tail section), but the iPod had vanished. (I’m 90% sure that the people behind me took it – but I can’t prove it).
I reported this to the cabin crew, the cleaning crew, the ground crew, three British Airways desks and filled in a lost property form.
What should I do now? Will contacting Apple help? If so how do I do that?
I’m completely at a loss without it, just hope my home insurance can cover it (only got medical holiday insurance).
    Thanks for any advice.

No, please do not call Apple regarding this.
The warranty does NOT cover lost iPods. It is not Apple's responsibility to replace lost iPods.
Apple will inform you to file a police report with your local authorities, as there is nothing they can do for you.
    Here is Apple's official policy:

  • Lost purchased videos after software update

My Videos purchased from the store have now dissappeared since I updated the latest i tunes version today, the videos all still show in the itunes libray on my pc (windows 7) but will not sync, the only one that will is the one I downloaded today, ( Blackadder goes Forth, Major Star ) all the others vanished ! I hope there is a simple fix for this any help gratefully received thanks

What happens when you try to sync? Error messages?
Try resetting the iPOd. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Lost photos/videos

I deleted some photos in error so tried to restore to my last iCloud backup to retrieve them.  When I restarted I had no photos or videos in my camera roll.  I got the Restore Incomplete message with the suggestion of syncing with iTunes.  I have never knowingly used iTunes since set up.  Would this even work for me?  Also I have no other computer or device to use to do so.
I could live without the photos I lost in the first place but I really want to retrieve the videos I lost by doing the erase all content and then restore from backup.  I am so upset and annoyed with myself.  I just assumed that restoring from a backup would have it all there.

As far as I know, you can only access the last three iCloud backups. There is no way that you can see the specific times in the iCloud backup. Photos and videos that you took with the iPad would be in the camera roll but you can't see each photo or video in the camera roll anywhere in the backup. The only way to access the backup is to restore from it again.
Im sorry, but I don't know of any way of retrieving lost data from an iCloud backup. There are third party apps that will let you recover lost data from an iOS device, but I think that they only work with iTunes backups. I don't know that much about any of them, but you can look at this one and see if you can find out if it will work for you. I don't think that it is an inexpensive way to go either.
