I (A blind user) need voiceover support for mozilla thunderbird. when will it be done?

Gentlemen,
I recently lost what was left of my eyesight and can no longer function in large print mode. I have attempted to get mac's VoiceOver to work with your thunderbird app, but to no avail. it will not read my active mail pane. I do not have the time or patience to want to dump a perfectly good product otherwise and migrate my mail to apples mail app (which has less features). I need to know WHEN VoiceOver support will be operational. I can't function without my mail.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I first started using VoiceOver. ==
== User Agent ==
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_4; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.8 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.1 Safari/533.17.8

I am having to use safari to access even here. mozilla firefox and its mail application thunderbird are not en tirely compatible with OS X VoiceOVer.
most of the menus get read, but the text windows I am interested in (in t-bird) remain unspoken. I'll his the feature request site.
****** public notice to apple and mozilla ********
btw, mozilla needs to get off their collective butts and quit worrying about apples developer license. all they need to do is contact apple, and arrange for source access. enough of the pointing fingers people, I am a customer of both of you and I am waiting for help!

I want to know about voiceover support for ABBYY pro in macbook pro. and also want to know whether voiceover support reading pdf files. If so, which is the best pdf reader.

Not sure if this is what you want, but for reading PDF files out loud, Apple Preview has a command Edit/Speech/Start Speaking, and Adobe Reader has View/Read Out Loud/Activate Read Out Loud.

    Hi every one,
I need coding support for accessing Mysql stored procedure from java and JSP.
    Please help me

You'd better have a recent version of MySQL, because earlier ones didn't support stored procs.
If your MySQL and driver support stored procs, maybe you just need a JDBC stored proc tutorial.

You can buy Applecare anytime before the 1 year warranty expires, so you could leave that to his discretion if you wanted, and he'd have 1 year to consider it.

  • What is my password for mozilla thunderbird?

I cannot find my PW for Mozilla Thunderbird. I may have set up my MT account originally with <[email protected]> and not changed it to my current address, which is <[email protected]>. Thus I am not receiving messages from MT when I request a reset.
So there may be 2 issues: the correct (incorrect) email address and the PW.
    Help!

re:'' I cannot find my PW for Mozilla Thunderbird. ''
Not clear on what you are talking about - can you eleborate more.
Are you talking about mail account paswords or did you setup a Master Password to help protect access to your stored passwords?
Thunderbird itself does not use a password.
Passwords can only be set/modified via the relevant webmail account using a browser.
Then you update the password in Thunderbird to match the one you updated in webmail account. You may need to remove the old stored password in Thunderbird first and then input new password at prompt.
    Thunderbird stores passwords here:
    Tools > Options > Security > Passwords
    or
Menu Icon > Options > Options > Security > Passwords
    click on 'Saved Passwords'
    Clickon 'Show passwords'
There should be a mailbox entry for the mail account and an smtp entry for the outgoing server.
Each mail account will have it's own entry.
re:'' I may have set up my MT account originally with <[email protected]> and not changed it to my current address, which is <[email protected]>.''
If you created a mail account for the first email address, then it will use a password to access the server to access emails. This is the same password you would use to access that email address webmaill account. You can choose to enter it each time or allow Thunderbird to remember the password and access automatically.
The second email address would be set up as a separate new exisitng mail account with it's own password, which ideally should not be the same as the first email address mail account password.
So, if you have two email addresses and need to see emails sent to both email address, then you should have two mail accounts in Thunderbird, one for each email address.

  • Also I need ndiswrapper support for solaris 10

I have a linksys -G type router and my computer uses a Linksys Wireless-G PCI Adapter with SpeedBooster
which works in Linux like mandrake , debian systems like knoppix and kanotix but their are some buggy like debian also that don't let me change the essid in debian but most linux works with the drivers for my card which are
    04/13/2004 10:01 AM 7,870 BCM43XX.CAT
    03/31/2004 08:44 AM 11,960 BCMWL5.INF
    02/19/2004 11:51 AM 300,928 BCMWL5.SYS
normally you install the drivers with ndiswrapper -i BCMWL5.INF then use -m to add it too the model loader program in linux which adds wlan0 to ifconfig and iwconfig programs
which also ndiswrapper requires the source code of the kernel to install the ndiswrapper right , it req. it too compile the drivers, and using the linux gui programs to setup essid and key wep info
also I use a script in kanotix to use /etc/network/interfaces to load the info on bootup etc.. to get my wireless network card up in linux.
also how the support for soundblaster sound cards in solaris 10, I have not fingured out if theirs sound yet. freebsd 5.4 seemed to be missing the sound support
one more thing in bootup of the install program for Solaris 10 my geforce 6800 card detected right but my tv output was all wrong in since the picture , was only on the monitor and tv had stange graphics on it which did not look right I hope nvidia drivers fix this problem , Is their any different command needed for clone mode in Solaris 10 then free86 nd xorg scripts use?

I got the solutiion from Canon Customer Serivce, temporary until the 10.10 download is released.  It works:
"You can download the latest software updates at this address:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/professional/professional_cameras/eos_digital_slr_cameras/eos_...
Please select "OS X Mavericks v10.9" using the drop-down menu on the page.  You have to pick the previous version of Mac OS, because the options for OS X 10.10 Yosemite have not yet been populated.  I sincerely apologize for any confusion this may cause.  After selecting OS X 10.9, please click on the red triangle next to the word "Software" to see the software updates available for your computer.  I would recommend updating all of your software including EOS Utility and Digital Photo Professional."
I never did find the drop-down menu, but I went into the site map and found what I needed.

  • What does a new non-DE user need? | Help for a Wiki page

    Hey Archers,
I'm using Arch with the Compiz Standalone Window Manager and I need some help for a project.
It turns out (who knew) that computers need a lot more to run smoothly than just a desktop and applications. You need network managers, gtk themes and much much more. Now, Desktop Environments such as GNOME and KDE provide a lot of these programs built-in, good for them, but I'm looking to build my system as dependency-free as I can and the big DE's don't really provide that. Especially GNOME just ropes me in whenever I want to use the tiniest piece of it (darn you gnome-keyring).
So I come to you fora, with a quest for information. I want to compile an overview of essential and useful applications with minimal dependencies that allow a CompizIndy user to build his system freely. And if I get enough information, I want to turn it into its own page for the Wiki so it becomes easier to get started with a birds-eye view of what you need to flesh out your system (not exclusively for CompizIndy btw). So please help me!
What applications/daemons/tools should a new system install? I'm not asking which ones are the best or worst or your favorites, just which kinds do you need --that aren't covered in the install guide--?
For example it's advisable to get:
    Panel/dock
    desktop manager
    network manager
    compositing manager
a tool for managing removable devices (ntfs-3g etc)
    a packer/unpacker
    a screensaver
    power management
    alt-F2 runcommand
    custom keybindings
    a user switch/logout manager
    a volume manager
    etc.
So what do you recommend? What do you need to get up and going?
Hoping to hear from you guys and girls,
    Matthias
PS: if I'm doubling up on anything, please let me know and save me effort and embarassment ^_^

There are many threads on this, although individual ones asking for "the best app to do XXX". You could try searching those. Also Search for the LnF Awards threads. you might find a few ideas there. We also have wiki pages for light-weight applications which might be useful
    Panel/dock  none
    desktop manager none
    network manager netcfg
compositing manager none or xcompmgr (for basic compositing)
a tool for managing removable devices (ntfs-3g etc) udiskie or udev rules or devmon
a packer/unpacker coreutils eg - tar, bzip etc with an alias called "ex" in .aliases
    a screensaver none
    power management ???
    alt-F2 runcommand gmrun
    custom keybindings xbindkeys
    a user switch/logout manager none
    a volume manager see udiskie....
BTW, if this is for you, then simply install Arch and use a non DE based WM --- eventually you will figure out what you are missing

Hopefully Apple is updating his support for these new cameras (they are still a few month on the market).

  • Support for XP ends when?

I have been looking for some info on when ZCM support for Windows XP will end? Given the timeframe for 11.3's release, will XP be dropped when 11.3 is released? I seem to remember Windows 2000 being dropped right away when it went out of MS support.
I am trying to get the remaining computers upgraded to Win7 but I am running into to opposition and need as much ammo as I can gather to push the issue - Doctors can be very stubborn.

The reason for dropping Windows 2000 support did not have anything
directly to do with Microsoft Dropping Support. It was the fact ZCM was
moving to a newer, more stable, and more robust version of .NET.
Microsoft never released the newer version of .NET for Windows 2000 and
hence Windows 2000 support for ZCM was no longer possible.
ZCM 11.3 will again be moving to a new version of .NET, but this version
of .NET is available and supported by Windows XP.
Novell has never removed support for an OS within a Service Pack Level
in the past, though some have been ADDED in the past. Traditionally,
support is removed during Service Pack Upgrades and even then it is
    uncommon.
I would not expect Windows XP Support to be removed prior to ZCM 11.4,
which would be a long way off. Even then, I would be quite surprised if
XP support was lost since work on that version is already underway which
means that the technology it uses would be available to XP.
In short, I have not heard of any discussions for the removal of XP
support, the removal of support for an OS any time soon would be a
departure from past ZCM support history, and even the major release
AFTER the soon to be released major update would most likely support XP
    as well.

  • BAM 11G support for Mozilla Browsers

Does anybody know if and when Oracle BAM will support more browsers than MSIE?

    Hi
You can use the IE plug in for Mozilla today on 11g. However, we do not certify this solution.
If browser flexibility is important , please look into the 11gR1 PS1 BAM-ADF data control functionality. You can create ADF based applications powered by BAM server. As a result, you will be able to use Mozilla and other browsers supported by Oracle ADF technology and also, get the real time automatic updates. There are samples and recordings posted on soasamples.samplecode.oracle.com on OTN.
Browser independent functionality is on our roadmap for a major release in the future.

  • Support for Mozilla/Firefox record & playback

I was just wondering if e-Tester supports recording and playback of test scripts in Mozilla/Firefox? I know the embedded browser in the application is based on IE.
I know that the documentation mentions something about support for Netscape, so I was wondering how that worked and if that can be extended to the Mozilla family of browsers.
    Thanks...

Right now e-test only uses IE and IE7 only on 8.2 ....word on the street is that FF support is coming before the end of the year but nothing official yet....
The netscape option is carry over from the 'ole days you can see it on one of the last options in the tree for the script (options>script) ...guess it's hard to let go of the past..
Now in E-load I understand you can emulate Mozilla browsers for your load scripts but at the thin client level it wont tell you much more then what IE would see...(application independent of course)...
    Hope this helps
