I absolutly hate the new itunes, why change something good?!

I absolutely hate the new itunes, why change something good?! I have no time or need to get used to the new layout, it is NOT user friendly, things are in places where I'd not look for them. I even don't like the red icon. Please change it back.

Hhhmmm!
Not only have you not been polite enough to acknowledge or respond to my question, but now I'm really confused...

A big ITunes problem is the lack of album artwork that comes along with CDs you install and the lack of the "next" button in the get info area makes adding anything extremely clunky!
Do you mean this Next button...
...after selecting Get Info? It will be greyed out if there is nothing "next" that is selectable.
You then go on to say...

I am still very sad that the flow cover for artwork has been dumped- perhaps my biggest annoyance with Apple. Album artwork is an integral part of music enjoyment.
While you are correct that cover flow appears to have been dropped, you can still see the artwork in large form, by clicking on the thumbnail that you mention:
And if you hover the mouse over the picture, various options, such as the play controls and close picture will appear.

  • Does anyone else HATE the new iTunes Software layout?!?!?!?!?!

I HATE the new iTunes Softare for Windows! They made it exactly like Windows Media Player! If I wanted to use WMP, I wouldn't use iTunes!!!! But I preferred iTunes over anything else. It was much more user friendly. Now its like the rest of them!!! I hate it!! PLEASE, CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!!

I love the new version of Grid view but some of the other changes feel like they still need some fine tuning. And I miss cover flow even if I didn't use it that often...
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl+B to turn on the menu bar
Ctrl+S to turn on the sidebar
Ctrl+/ to turn on the status bar
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
Should you feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • Is there a way to roll back ios6? I upgraded before I knew about the new mapping. I used google maps all the time and absolutely hate the new one. Just about everything I've looked for is wrong or missing.

I hate the mapping in IOS6. Is there a way to roll back to the older OS? When I upgraded I didn't know about the mapping change. I used google maps a lot, for a variety of things. In just a few searches I've found more errors or missing landmarks than anything else. I really hate this app!

I agree. How can I roll back to the previous OS? Developers, please post a procedure for reverting.

  • Hate the new Itunes.

If I wanted Windows, I would have bought a PC. Terrible navigation. How can I convert back to the old iTunes??

Google "old apps itunes" and you'll find a site with downloads of earlier versions. At first, you'll be told that iTunes can't access your music library because it's a newer version, but you can get around that by dragging the music data file onto iTunes. There's also a tutorial on YouTube that explains pretty clearly how to go back to older versions of iTunes.

  • Who else hates the new itunes update?

Not happy with the fact that i cant edit song titles, even though i've bought them as CD's, saved them to external and copied them to new computer. NOT COOL APPLE!!!

This topic has been covered countless times on this forum ever since iOS 5 was released months ago and I'm sure that countless others have sent feedback to Apple about this - and to date nothing has changed. I would not hold my breath waiting for Apple to change the UI again - but it does not hurt to continue to leave feedback.

Sorry, I forgot we were in the iTunes for Windows forum. To get the menu bar, press Control-B or click the little icon in the upper-left corner:
and select "Show Menu Bar". You'll then see the standard menus including the "View" menu.

  • My iPhone 4 isn't recognized by the new iTunes

My phone worked just fine with the old iTunes, until I updated. I absolutely hate the new iTunes. It's unorganized and hard to work with. Also, now whenever I plug my iPhone 4 into my computer it charges and is recognized by iPhoto, but won't show up in iTunes. I've already gone through the troubleshooting steps Apple supplied, none of which helped. I've also looked at other questions like this but most of them were for Windows, and I'm on a Mac. Any advice? And is there a way to uninstall the new iTunes and just go back to the original? It was so much nicer.
    Thanks!

Ok so I found the solution, sadly i had to reformat my laptop to figure out the issue. Anyways, if you have a passcode (PIN) to unlock your iphone then make sure before you plug in your phone to the computer that you have already unlock your phone.  Give that a try and see how you go.
But I do not think you would miss this

  • I absolutely and whole-heartedly hate the new vers...

Hello. I am not going to sugarcoat anything, I absolutely hate the new version of Skype, Skype for Windows Desktop. It runs horribly on my computer, and I have Windows 7, so I really don't need this new version. I know that Skype says they do not offer older versions of Skype, but I am begging you. I do not have Windows 8. I don't need this new version. I liked the older, more user-friendly version better. So please. Please. Help

  • HT4915 Since downloading the latest iTunes, I am unable to delete songs from my iPhone 4s and songs I have purchased on iTunes are not available on my iPhone 4s. My computer no longer seems to recognise my iPhone or iPad. How do I work the new iTunes plea

I hate the new iTunes, I can't find anything and can't delete music from my iPhone4S. I can't find my iPhone or iPad when I plug them into my computer and I now have a whole lot of stuff I don't want on my phone. I have relaxation music on my iPad (for work) and other music on my iPhone. The new iTunes has now put everything on my iPhone and I can't get it off. I've disabled Match from my iPad to prevent the wrong music from appearing. Help please someone, I'm going insane.

In iTunes go to View>Show Sidebar.  This will make it look and behave more like previous versions.  Then connect your phone, click on it's name on the left side, go to the Music tab and make sure you haven't selected Sync your entire library.  You may want to check the songs in your library that you want on your phone, then go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and select Sync only checked songs and videos, then click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.  This should transfer only the checked songs and remove the rest.

  • Why can't I change the genre on the new iTunes

I wish to change the genre of a song on the new iTunes.  I right click on the song go to details, write in the genre and then click on OK and yet nothing changes.  So how can I effectively change the genre of a song?

I found out that in order to have iTunes accept changes, I must first go into Windows Explorer to the music file under properties, in the General tab, then uncheck in Attributes the read only box. Then iTunes accepts the changes.
Thank you and have a great day!

  • Where is the EXACT version number shown?  Where is the menu link to the Help file?  Why is there no scroll bar?  The new iTunes is terrible in more ways than I can list... how do I switch back to version 10?

The newest iTunes version has no Help option.  Why?  And, no ability to find out the version number.
The new iTunes, when in album view in Windows 7, has NO SCROLLBARS, so it is impossible to scroll the albums.  Why?
Answer these questions, as I am an AAPL shareholder and I am NOT happy with these and other changes you've made to iTunes.

The newest iTunes version has no Help option.  Why?  And, no ability to find out the version number.
You may need to bring up your Menu Bar to see the Help menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Once you've got your Help menu showing, go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen, as per the previous versions.

I have this issue.  Album artwork was totally fine before.  After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.
    Please fix!

Contact Rhapsody to see if they have or plan to release an update for the app. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

  • How do I change the new iTunes play list total time display from 1.5 hours format to exact display of 1hr 31min 12sec.

In the new iTunes the play list total time displays in 1.5 hours format, how do I get it to clearly show 1hr 31min 12sec like before, I want the exact time so I can properly fit all the songs when I want to burn this playlist to a disc. You can no longer just click on it to change the display format. Nor can you right click, control click, or change it in options. If anyone knows I would very much appreciate your imput. Thank You.

Actually, that's the problem ... in iTunes *11* it has stopped working.  I have the status bar displayed, and it is stuck on the 1.x hours format.
That is very, very strange !!
I can't get that to happen on mine. It worked in 11.0 and I updated today to 11.0.1 and it's OK.
I've tried making a new playlist, I've tried changing an old playlist, smart playlist ...... all OK ????
