I accidentally clicked on Bold in Pages 5.01.  How do I get rid of it?

I tried clicking on bold again but it doesn't disappear.

OK, there is no text to select, but if you place your cursor at the VERY begining of the page, left click and drag down is anything highlighted - even just a space or two? If so, release the mouse/trackpad and mouse across to bold and click it.  Does that help?
If not, type something (which will, of course be in bold) then select it and click bold again - it should go back to normal.
One final thought - are you using a font that only comes in bold?  Try a common font such as Arial, Times New Roman or Helvetica and see if you can toggle bold in that font.

While types a blank document on pages, there are "invisible" boxes at the top and bottom of each page, and they only appear when I scroll over them. Does anyone know what these boxes are, and how i can get rid of them from my paper?

Those are the Header and Footer spaces. You remove them using the Document Inspector. Uncheck the "Headers" and "Footers" checkboxes shown checked here:

The settings for the warning messages have been removed from the user interface (Bug 513166).
You need to change the related security.warn_* prefs directly on the <b>about:config</b> page.<br />
    Filter: security.warn
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • My pop-up blockers stays on, but when I would click something a pop-up a bar would come across asking if I wanted to "allow pop-ups for this site" or view a specific block pop-up. I accidentally clicked on "do not ask again". How do I get the bar back?

My Firefox is set up to delete cache, and all history upon closing. But when I restarted my Firefox, or manually deleted everything, nothing worked. Is there a way to reset these? Or do I have to completely uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Even that might not work though.

    Please do the following.<br><br>
#In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
#In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
#Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q= and then click OK.<br><br>
    #Close the tab
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.

  • I have 2 Pages icons. How can I get rid of the old one?*

I can't gey it out of launchpad. It won't go in the trash. It's confusing to have 2 icons.

    Hi rointhestudy,
I understand you have duplicate icons of the Pages application in Launchpad. Here is some more information:
OS X Lion: About duplicate icons in Launchpad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4836
Launchpad will display an icon for each copy of an application that is currently installed (as well as any aliases to those applications), so you will see more than one icon for an application if you have more than one version of the application installed or aliased.
It sounds like we want to remove the duplicate from your computer:
OS X Mountain Lion: Install, update, and uninstall apps
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11356
To uninstall apps you purchased from the Mac App Store, hold down an app’s icon in Launchpad until all the icons begin to jiggle. Click an app’s delete button (x) to uninstall the app.
If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, that app can’t be uninstalled. For example, apps that come with OS X can’t be uninstalled.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I'm getting a tiny little square box with a cross in the middle on some of my Pages documents. How do I get rid of it? It's where I've got a text box.

Why is this tiny little box, less than quarter inch in size, appearing in some of my Pages designs? It has a + in the middle of it.

The cross indicates an overflow of text. Increase the size of the box as needed. Since you didn't indicate that some of the text is missing it may just be an invisible character or that a little more space is needed below the text.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

I downloaded a "free" version of FLIP4MAC, and now I have Ads popping up with EVERY click of the mouse... How do I get rid of them?
And no, I haven't turned on TimeMachine yet, so I can't "turn back the hands of time."
Also, I cannot simply "block pop-ups" because other sites which utilize pop-ups are necessary to my daily activities.
Oh, and I have an iMac 24", Early 2009 with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Memory RUNNING OS X Yosemite.

  • I want to see my chosen home page when I click on Firefox, but your ad shows up. How do I get rid of it?

When I go to Mozilla Firefox, I always see YOUR page first instead of my chosen home page. This page says "Committed to You, your privacy and an open web under your logo, and in top right corner, it says "See what's New" and it makes me either check "No Thanks" or "Let's go". This is annoying because I really just want my home page when I click on Firefox.
How do I get rid of YOUR page that comes up first? If I can't get rid of this, I plan to no longer use Mozilla Firefox. Please advise. (I would have given you a screen shot, but your system doesn't accept it here)
    Thanks!
    Kathy Burden

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
Do you still have your home page set correctly?
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.
You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

A number of extensions can cause that problem, you'll need to do a little troubleshooting to find out which extension is causing that to happen for you.
