  • PLEASE HELP ME! I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED ALL MY SONGS!!!

I got a new computer the other day and followed all the directions given on the apple support site to transfer my 1080 songs. When i connect the ipod to the new computer at the end, it gives me a popup that says
Would you like to make your ipod correspond with this library? (something like that)
and the apple site told me to say yes. Well all my songs got deleted. I tried a few times before hitting yes, hitting no, but nothing ever happened.
    can anyone please help me?!?!
    im really distressed right now!

As I mentioned, since you said "yes" before moving the music, the songs are gone.
There are some programs that can try to recover your data, but I'm not sure of names.
You're going to have to reimport your music to your library.
Hitting "no" simply means the data on the iPod won't be overwritten with the data from the new iTunes library.

  • How do I addmy I tunes songs to my I phone if I have two different I tune accounts? Ive heard of people accidentally deleting all of their phone info when trying to do so, so I'm trying to avoid that!

I don't know why the songs aren't matching.
Just because a song does not "match" does not mean it won't be available in the cloud. Non-purchased tracks that are not matched will be uploaded to the cloud. You need to enable the iCloud Status. Pull down View > View Options and select "iCloud Status" then close the small window.

iTunes only shows one kind of cloud icon next to songs, viz, a cloud with a down arrow set in a grey background. There are no cloud icons next to any other songs. I'm not sure what their status is consequently.
Unless you've deleted the track from the iTunes library you shouldn't see any cloud icons next to songs that have been successfully processed. Did you delete any tracks?
    Rick Fernandez1 wrote:
What is really want is to match and also be able to keep the songs that don't match. Are these mutually exclusive goals? If so, then I don't want iTunes Match after all.
You do. The tracks in the iTunes library are not touched or modified in any way. They stay right where they are unless you delete them.

Also, I thought Match was supposed to convert the songs that are matched to 256 kbps. This has not at all happened. I don't see any that were upconverted at all.
This does not happen automagically. You must delete the track from the iTunes library and download the "matched" track. But upgrading only works for tracks that have been "matched." Tracks that have been "uploaded" are exactly the same as what was on your HDD. See my instructions above to enable the iCloud Status column.

  • I think i deleted all my songs...

ok. well, I'm using XP home edition or whatever, and there's multiple users on one computer (multiple files etc.) mind you, i have itunes on both accounts, (for some reason) one with alll of my songs, and another with just one movie trailer. I accidentally transfered my files or something and deleted all my songs from my ipod.. i reeeeally don't want to get all the CDs i imported from into my ipod.. I have a 4GB ipod mini, like the first kind, and i use itunes version 6.
is there any way at all to get all of my songs back?
dell   Windows XP   if you have an answer, please pleeeease answer now. =)

    rayychii,
Does the iTunes under the other user still have all the music?
If so, all you need to do is log back in under the user with all the music, and then connect the iPod.
It should allow you to sync the iPod with that user's iTunes Library at that point.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

How do I completely clear my ipod music, and how can I solve the syncing problem?

Sync works the same way it always has, connect the device, select the content desired to sync and sync.
All the media should be in iTunes already, iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
If this is a new computer, move the content from the old computer to the new computer.

  • I deleted all my songs off my hard drive and I went to download them again, and i can't, is this normal?

I deleted all my songs because for some reason they were all duplicated on my list, so i had to listen to every one of them twice so I didn't want to have the same problem when I redownloaded it.
I'm new to the digital era so you can only download the songs you pay for once? This isn't a joke right?

If these playlists are still on your iPod, check out this older thread on how to export playlists from your iPod via iTunes.

Otherwise, I'm afraid you are of luck and will need to rebuild them.

  • I accidentally deleted all my music and now can't download an album I downloaded of a CD

I accidentally deleted all my music off my iPod and then synced my iPod to iTunes on my computer. However, it says "Some of the items in the iTunes library including --------- were not copied to the iPod ----- iPod touch because they could not be found". What do I do to get my music back as it is in my iTunes on my computer but not in my purchased file on iTunes on my iPod as the music is off a CD. Help would, as always, be helpful. Thanks.

That message means that iTunes can't find the actual music files. You need to find the music files. This may help

  • I accidentally delete all my photo in the "all my files". How could I back up all the photo? (time machine is turn off)

I accidentally delete all my photo in the "all my files".
actually I delete every thing in ALL MY FILES.
How could I back up all the photo?
and other data, such as movies and so on?
Do I need to go to Apple store to back up?
    (time machine is turn off)

If you don't have a back up then you'll need to use a file recovery app like File Salvage
To back up iPhoto you make a copy of the Library on another disk.

  • I want to delete all the songs with broken links at once

I lost a file with a lot of songs on it and it can't be retrieved.  How can I delete all the song titles with broken links at once without having to delete 500 songs one at a time?

One way to identify the broken links in your library is to create this set of playlists:
    Lost & Found playlists
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist. They can be deleted with CTRL+A then SHIFT+DELETE.
Or use iTunes Folder Watch and enable its option to check for dead tracks on startup.
If you have any Apple devices that could hold the lost media see this user tip.
Finally, while I'm handing out advice, see this backup tip to avoid this problem again.

  • Deleted All My Songs And I Want New Ones On But It Wont Update

    Ok Well,
i Deleted all my songs on porpose and Then i Put New Songs Into Music On Itunes And Then I Pluged My Ipod In and i went to music on my ipod and all my old songs are still there then i pluged it in again and then it comes up with ''DO NOT DISCONNECT'' and it being like that for a good two hours
    Help!!!

If you have your iPod set to transfer your music manually, then that “do not disconnect” message will continue to be displayed on your iPod until you manually eject it.
You can do this by clicking on the little eject icon next to the iPod listing in the source window of iTunes, or right click on it and select “eject”. There is also an iPod 'eject' icon in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. Another way would be to use the “safely remove hardware” icon in the system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on this then select your iPod. Or through Windows, select start/my computer, right click on the iPod, select eject. With a Mac, drag the iPod into the trash.
If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes version 7 or later, connect the iPod and when you see the summary screen, uncheck the box marked "enable disk use".
If you are using an earlier version of iTunes, right click on the iPod in the source list, select options and uncheck the same box.
In future your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.
