I accidentally deleted my bookmarks.
I accidentally deleted my bookmarks and I have no backup. Can I recover them?
If it happens again:
If you have accidentally removed bookmarks then use "Organize > Undo" in the bookmarks manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) to get them back.
The Organize button is the first of the three buttons next to the Back and Forward buttons on the toolbar in the Library (Bookmarks Manager).
That only works if you haven't closed Firefox.
If it didn't work then you can restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
*Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore
This will replace all current bookmarks and you lose bookmarks that were added since that backup was created.

An hour ago, I accidentally deleted a Bookmarks folder, and all of subfolders and hyperlinks. The lost items are not in "Trash." Are they still retrievable? JAW
They don't go into the Trash. Unless you have a backup prior to the deletion time it's gone.

I accidentally deleted some bookmarks and need them back
I deleted some bookmarks and when I go into Time Machine there is no user/library/safari/bookmarks.plist. So I got out of Time Machine and went and searched for that file and it isn't even on my machine! It's completely gone. help!
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the menu bar, copy the text on the line below into the box that opens, and press return:
~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
A folder should open with an item selected. Enter Time Machine and scroll back to the snapshot you want to restore from. Click Restore. Confirm. -
Focus causes accidental deletions in bookmarks
When the sidebar is opened and there is an (active) selection, the focus stays there, even if you right-click on a toolbar bookmark. The context menu appears near the toolbar bookmark, but belongs to the actively selected sidebar item!
This leads to undesired behavior, e.g.: if you right-click a toolbar bookmark in order to delete it, you instead delete the item in the bookmark sidebar ranging from a single bookmark, to possibly a folder with tens or hundreds of sub-folder and items. This has happened to me several times (even after I was aware of this behavior)! :-( When I manage my bookmarks, I manage them in the sidebar /and/ the toolbar.
To avoid the undesired behavior, first close the sidebar; or click somewhere in the main browser window, to make the sidebar selection inactive.
If the undesired behavior has occurred, you can restore bookmarks from the Bookmark Library. You might want to backup (what is left of) your current bookmarks before restoring - you otherwise lose all changes since the last restore point. I do not see a practical way of "joining" the restore point and the (rest of the) current/backupped bookmarks - anybody?
It might be possible to simply "undo" the sidebar item deletion, but since I did something else in between, I do not know whether this was an option.Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?
Why does the Right-click -> "t" delete a bookmark on the bookmark toolbar, when Right-click -> "t" opens a new tab elsewhere in Firefox. The bookmark toolbar use Right-click -> "w" to open in a new tab. Please change this to "t" to... I keep deleting all my bookmark because you don't make the commands consistent!

Accidentally deleted History folder in Safari on IPad 4.
I must have accidentally deleted the History folder from the Bookmarks/Favorites bar in Safari (iPad 4) and I currently have no way of viewing my web browsing history on the actual iPad. Private browsing most definitely is not the problem, as is the suggestion I keep seeing for this type of question.
Is there anyway I can get my history folder set back up? Here is what I am working with:To illustrate.

As a result of accidental import of older bookmarks I have hundreds of entries to remove. When I attempt to remove them even singly, Firefox hangs for a long time after a few removals. I"ll never get done at this rate.
Is there another technique to do this? You can use this extension to find and delete duplicate bookmarks.
Hello.I ve accidentally deleted one of my folder in my tabs in safari. How can i retrieve it.Regards.
Ah, they are Bookmarks, not Tabs...
They are stored in ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist.
To get to the library folder you need to hold the Opt key while hitting Go in the drop down menu in Finder.
To keep the library visible, run this command in Terminal
chflags nohidden ~/Library/
I see an item called "Last session.plist" which may still contain your's, but probably they are gone for good. I suggest some backup strategy in future, Time Machine or a clone.
Also make an archive copy of your bookmarks, by going to File>Export Bookmarks, an save it somewhere safe. (I do this for my Contacts and Calendars too, and keep them in a backup folder). -

Is there any way to recover an item in my calendar I accidentally deleted from iCloud?
Temporary flet battery in iPhone 5. Checking calendar in iCloud via laptop, I accidentally deleted a calendar item. Is there anyway of recovering it as it has a number of recurring events in it?
Hi SandieMo,
If you made an iTunes backup of your device while you still had the Calendar item listed, you may find the following article useful:
