I accidentally deleted photo files, can I retrieve them?
I accidentally deleted photo files, is there any way to undo or retireve them?
I spoke too soon! The Picassa 3 photos do not import well into my elements
program! I just don't understand why, when I accidentally deleted the
files from elements, they don't show up in the trash bin. I looked/searched for
the pictures...they seem gone! Is it time to call in a tech? I really
appreciate your help with this, you can imagine how distraught it is to lose
about 6,000 pictures!!!

Lost photos on photo stream can I retrieve them
Could somebody please help me? I have deleted some pictures off photo stream on my I phone and thought (stupidly) they would stay on my iPad, they are precious photos and I'm really hope I can retrieve them. Does anybody know if I can?
Thank youIf you have not transferred these photos to your computer or saved them to the camera roll on another device, then they are gone.
Photostream is not a permanent storage place and actions you take on one device are synced to others. -
can i retrieve my photos after uninstalling and then reinstalling itunes back to my pc. iphone and ipad lost photos after sync
I suggest you download a program called "Media Widget" from bootstrapdevelopment.com, it's free but you can only do 5 songs at a time unless you want to pay for it. I've used it plenty of times, best of luck!

SMS's deleted by phone - can i retrieve them
I was trying to send an MMS on my iPhone 4 from the Photo's app, after i clicked send in the message window, the SMS app closed down, and my phone showed me the apple symbol for start up for a minute, then i found all my SMS messages had been deleted. Any idea what happened and how to retrieve them, or is my only option to do a restore from back-up, and i guess i'll lose the messages since the last back-up.
ThanksWelcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, not unless you have made a back up. -
My son used a passcode, but then forgot what it was. I had to do a complete restore. However, I know the Ipad had been sync'd with iCloud. Aren't my pictures in the Cloud? How do I retrieve them if they are? If they are not, then what??
CathyMany users seem to have lost photos doing a restore of a device from an icloud backup. I don't know why some backups seem to not have photos, unless they were not in the camera roll. But, it seems they are gone unless you have been following the suggested practice of always periodically syncing photos on a device to a computer, much the same way you'd sync photos from a digital camera to a computer for archiving.

if i deleted my notes on i phone 4 can i get them back & How?
Not sure why you posted your iPhone question in the support forum for the Apple routers.......the AirPort Time Capsule, AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express.
You will likely receive a more informed answer if you post your iPhone question in the iPhone support forum. The link is just below.

You can restore from iTune or iCloud backup if you have one.

I can't delete photo files to make room for iOS 8.
I can't delete photo files to make room for iOS 8.
Ive had this and solved it an entirely different way very quickly.
Connect the ipad to the imac (i assume its an imac);
Fire up itunes;
while thats happening create a new folder called EMPTY in your Pictures folder on the imac;
go back to itunes;
select the ipad;
go to photos on the ipad;
select SYNC FROM SELECTED FOLDER;
select your EMPTY folder;
then hit SYNC and the photos / videos in photo albums / the albums will all instantly disappear.
We had 7.98 Gb of syncd fotos and videos on the ipad and tried all the more lengthy [and unsuccessful] ways suggested elsewhere.
There was so little space we couldnt u/d the IOS !
OK, so we werent bothered about keeping the fotos that were on the ipad (they'd all been filed in iphot on the imac so not 'lost').
Nice to find a solution for yourself when you're a silver surfer in your mid '60's

What app do I use to recover accidentally deleted prproj files on a Mac?
Umm... unless you can find an app that will rebuild data off of your hard disc by identifying sectors and re-writing document headers, you're out of luck... There is no app that I'm aware of for recovering deleted Project files. If it was on a RAID that failed, I've got a recommendation for you... otherwise, I think you're headed for some long, hard work rebuilding your project.

Hi, I accidentally deleted photos from my photo stream, causing them to disappear from my camera roll aswell. I am desperate to get these photos back. Is there any way I can recover them? Thanks
Hi Am1121,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
If you have a backup of your iPhone on either iCloud or iTunes from the time when those photos were on the Camera Roll, you can restore from that backup and recover those photos. Please use the following article for information on restoring from backups.

Retrieving accidentally deleted photos
Is there any way to recover accidentally deleted photos from the iphone? I was on vacation so I had not backed up any new pics. Thanks!
Unfortunately, if you haven't synced to create a backup or turned on Photo Stream there's no way to recover them once deleted.

I accidentally deleted photos on my ipod touch, is their a way to get them back
hello everyone,
i accidentally deleted photos i need, can you get them back.i havent made a back up with the photos i need, i tried alot of programs to get them back but that didn't help. i heard that when you delete photos from a portable device like ipod, the photo itself isn't deleted, just the space containing the deleted photos is now marked as free space so it is available to the system for other new files to be written there instead. Do you know where deleted phtos are stored? Can you please help me, is there a photo recovery that actuallyworks, and what is it?
Thank you all for your helpThey are gone.
Sorry.
You should be importing pics to your computer regularly as with any digital camera. -
I'm having some difficulty with Time Machine. It appears to be deleting backups from random dates on my external hard drive. I am not deleting them. Are they hidden and how do I prevent this from happening? Can I retrieve them?
... I didn't know that Time Machine was more a last resort back up instead of main back up.
Don't rely upon Time Machine to the exclusion of all else. I compliment Time Machine with a periodic "clone". TM is much better than nothing, but it's a safety net, not a hammock
Here is my understanding of Time Machine's file deletion algorithm, distilled from Pondini's FAQ, Apple's KB articles, and my own observations.
Time Machine deletes ("thins") files from the backup disk as follows:
Hourly backups over 24 hours old, except the first backup of the day
Daily backups over 30 days old, except the first backup of the week
Older backups get deleted when Time Machine requires space and you deleted them from the source disk.
Therefore, assuming TM has been performing at least one backup per day, backup files will remain available:
at least thirty days, if they existed on your Mac for at least a day
until you run out of space, if they existed on your Mac for at least a week
In addition to the above, Time Machine always keeps one complete copy of your source disk so that the entire volume could be restored if necessary. Any files that remain on your source volume will be present on the TM backup, no matter how old they are.
If you are using 250 GB of space on your source disk, its Time Machine backups are likely to require at least twice that much. A good estimate of the minimum required backup volume size would be about three times the size of your source disk - 1.5 TB in your case.
A more thorough explanation would require Pondini since he has plumbed Time Machine's mysteries far more than I have.
