I accidentally reset my Ipod nano 5th generation and now it say's window's Ipod and will not sync in Itunes... How can this be fixed?

The Ipod shows up in Itunes as "Window's Ipod" but won't let me manually sync through devices or restore. I can't seem to click on the "window's Ipod box to cjange it back to "my Ipod" either. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes and used different USB ports and still no change.

What happens when you try to restore the iPod?

Ok last year I got my first Toshiba laptop for Christmas and had my iPod nano since 2010. The iPod was fittied in perfectly when I first got the laptop and there was no problem with it until a few days ago it wasnt able to recognize the device at all. My iPod will not sync to iTunes I can't do anything to it.

The iPod isn't recongnized in iTunes but Windows reconginzed it but it won't format the disc in the iPod. The iPod also says it's connected to my computer but iTunes does'nt recongnize it. I don't know what to do I'm hoping the iPod isn't broke. I've tried resetting it and that has failed.

Not sure about the Nike, but do NOT buy the InCase armband. This product is HORRIBLE for at least 3 reasons. I am tall and of normal build. Tried to wear it while working out (have worn other iPods and MP3 players in armbands/cases while working out with no problems at all).
1) The strap is barely long enough to fit over my biceps (which is normal sized). The strap is not flexible, so it's loose when your arm is extended, tight when your arm is flexed. When doing a normal arm exercise (not even a biceps exercise), with a normal amount of weight, the very first time I tried to wear this, it popped right off my arm (literally).
2) This generation Nano is longer than previous ones. The case is even longer (longer than necessary). It barely even fit on my arm, length-wise, between my elbow and my shoulder (and my arms are somewhat longer than average). Also, it was so long that I had to try to wear it in only one position, otherwise I couldn't really even bend my arm (during the 1 minute it stayed on my arm to begin with).
3) The case has a thin opening at one end but none at the other, and is difficult to get in and out. Thus you can either have access to the earphone plug or the "lock" button, but not both. I actually "solved" this by creating a small hole in the bottom that allowed me to stick the earphone plug through it, allowing me access (sort of) to both ends. (Unfortunately, did this before testing the product out and can't return it now, if I could have to begin with.)
Do NOT buy this product. I wish I hadn't.

Ipod nano 5th generation freezes when trying to play a song or video

Within the last couple of day my ipod nano 5th generation started freezing whenever i tryed to play a song. Oly way i could turn it off was by resetting it, however it did not fix the problem and still freezes whenever i try to play a song. I have even restored it to factory setting and it does the exact same thing. I don't understand why it does this, does anyone know why it freezes and won't stop? i don't have any warrenty on it and want to know if it is fixable, because it just randomly started freezing when trying to play music. If any one knows why it would be appriacted to know.

Does this happen with any song or video you play? If so, then my best guess would be a hardware issue since a restore to factory settings did not resolve it.

I was thinking that you may need to reset the iPod Nano, outlined here How to reset iPod http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If that doesn't quite get the iPod going again, then it will need to be restored. Use this article to help with that Restoring iPod to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?

My Ipod Nano 5th generation keeps skipping songs!

Please help! I have been having trouble with my ipod nano 5th generation skipping and fast forwarding songs. I have done a hard reset of the ipod nano which helped for about a day. However, the next day this problem started again. When I walk with it, it begins to skip songs, fast forward songs and act as if there is something pressing the buttons. A male voice will begin reading off songs on a playlist I'm not even on. This problem has rendered my ipod basically useless and I don't know what to do! I even locked the ipod so touching the click wheel wouldn't do anything; however, there was no success in fixing this problem. Also, I turned off the playback feature 'shake' and I feel like it still thinks that that option is on! I feel that maybe my click wheel is short circuiting. However, I am not sure. Any advice would help me! Thanks!

I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for about two years now and after about one year, I plugged in my iPod into my computer to sync more music. Here is the problem: The tab where you go to sync music to your iPod and shows the list of artists and songs you want to sync to the iPod, the tab I can get to but the list of songs and artists does not show up and the only way I can sync music to my iPod is to basically wipe my iPod and start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to do that because I do not have all the songs in my library that I have on my iPod. I have uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed it, but it did not work and I do not know what else to do. I would really appreciate helpful guidance to get it fixed if it can be fixed. Have done all trouble shooting tech a through Apples and still have not resolved issues on Windows and itunes not detecting my Ipod nano 5th generation device. Tried restoring the device manually using disk mode and still not being detected by the computer. Device is our of warenty as when service repair charges are $125.00 dolars more than I paid for this device. There must be some way to restore the entire device to factor settings without having to be connected to itunes and Windows. I wish I could connect but again device is not being read. I have another Ipod that is 8GB instaed of 16GB and it works fine. The sad thing about this situation is that my 9year old daughter worked hard doing delivering fliers for a long time to save her money to buy this 16 GB 5th generation Nano. Otherwise the Ipod works well but will not syncronize songs as it is not being detected. Maybe this is a result of corrupt files that got onto my daughters Ipod somehow and thus causing it not the be detwected through the USB connection thus as a result not be understoud as a working device through Windows and itunes. If anyone can help me out there including itune techs that would be well appreciated, but for now my daughter is not able to add new or delete any songs on her ipod as well pictures, and everything. Try changing the cord. I could NOT get my computer to recognize my iPod 5th Gen until I read somewhere that different apple devices use different cords. I was inadvertently using my iPad cord and that caused my computer to not recognize my ipod.
