I accidentally uninstalled bonjour (part of iTunes) HELP!!!!

Hi,
I have accidentally unistalled the bonjour part of iTunes and I need to get it back. I have tried system restore but that only brings back the settings and not the actual program. I would prefer not to have to reinstall iTunes because I have heard that sometimes everything may be deleted and i have of 4500 songs so this would be difficult. I have a windows PC. I would really appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Uninstalling and then reinstalling your iTunes should also get your Bonjour reinstalled.
For the reinstall, use an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
... or you could get it back via your Apple Software Update for Windows.
If you'd prefer not to uninstall iTunes, try the following procedure.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the Bonjour.msi (or Bonjour64.msi) to do a standalone Bonjour install.

  • I accidentally uninstalled Bonjour - is there a way to reinstall it ?

I accidentally uninstalled Bonjour and ya gotta know my system restore was off. Can I just install that component. It's an old Windows XP and I haven't been able to do a secondary back up of my music. If I have to uninstall and reinstall itunes will it affect my library, apps, etc... I have several different ipods registered will it affect any of those?

If the solution above doesn't work, then uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. That happened to me and doing that worked for me.

  • I accidentally uninstalled QuickTime, and now iTunes won't open. What do i do?

I was uninstalling some programs on my laptop since it has too much. I uninstalled QuickTime, not knowing it was needed to open iTunes. So, now, I downloaded QuickTime so that i can reinstall it. However, it said that it's "not a valid Win32 application." Before that, I tried to open my iTunes, but it said that it needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled. So, i did just that. I saw an old itunes setup in one of my folders. However, it was an old version, so it won't open. So now, as i'm typing this, i'm downloading the latest itunes in hopes of getting it right. What should i do? Can anyone help me?

You can install it again from mac OS dvd, there's a folder named "optional installs" or "additional installs"with a installer in there, simply pen that installer and select from the list  QuickTime and that's all

  • I was deleting some things on my computer that I didn't need. And I uninstalled bonjour on accident. And now when I try and download the newest version of iTunes a pop up comes up saying "Service 'Bonjour Service' failed to start.' ect.

I accidently uninstalled 'BONJOUR' and now iTunes, the newest version, wont download. A pop up comes up saying that bonjour failed to start and I have to verify my privleges ect. SO PLEASE HELP!!

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I can not uninstall bonjour or itunes. I get a error message that it is on a netwok resource that is unavailable. help get it off so i can load a newer version.
I had a issue when my bonjour was deleted so I tried to delete all apple itms and then reinstall them but a few are left behind and I can not delete them so that when I try to reinstall itunes a error comes up that it can not delete a older version. Help me delete or fix this.

    Doublechecking before proceeding:
so that when I try to reinstall itunes a error comes up that it can not delete a older version.
At that point in time is it saying that it can't remove the older version of itunes or the older version of bonjour? (Either could be possible in this context, given your other symptoms, and whichever one is mentioned will make a difference to the treatment method.)

  • I accidentally removed bonjour and now I cant even open my itunes to uninstall it and then reinstall.

How do I uninstall and then reinstall itunes if my itunes wont even stay open since i accidentally removed bonjour?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes (similar to those above) and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if iTunes or one of the components won't install normally.

  • Unable to uninstall Bonjour and iTunes, and cant get into iTunes at all!!!

I have been trying to install the new iPhone update for iTunes 9 (I have Windows Vista), but it didnt work. So following advice on the Apple Support pages I tried uninstalling it, as it suggests in this order... 1. iTunes 2. QuickTime 3. Apple Software Update 4. Apple Mobile Devices Support 5. Bonjour 6. Apple Application Support, and managed to uninstall everything apart from iTunes and Bonjour, it just will not let me remove these?? so I have tried to re-install iTunes 9, and then I get a message coming up saying 'the older version of Bonjour cannot be removed' and then at the end it says 'installation interupted' I now cannot open iTunes at all and the message I am getting is 'this action is only valid for products that are currently installed' very annoying as I cant do anything at all and so am unable to sync my iPhone!.
    I hope someone can help!
    Many thanks

  • NEED HELP: Bass disappears after accidentally uninstalling Ope

I am running an X-Fi Platinum Fatalty card with a 5. THX certified speaker system. I was trying to clear out space on my hard dri've and I accidentally uninstalled OpenAL since it wasn't marked as part of the Creative software package. I system restored and the problem wasn't fixed. So, I ran a repair operation using the original disk. Still no bass. I then did a complete uninstall/reinstall using a driver cleaner to make sure it was completely uninstalled before reinstalling the drivers and software. Still no bass, but now the highs are much too loud. Then, installed latest drivers from Creative. I can hear the lows trying to go through the subwoofer, but they just don't make it. ?I turned on the THX Bass redirecting but it still took turning on the 5dB boost just to get the sub to play the lows in my music. Also, with some songs that used to have a lot of bass the bass is no longer there. But for some reason other songs have retained their bass sounds. I am pretty sure this has something to do with the THX settings for the card but I just cannot get my system to sound the way it did before I uninstalled OpenAL. Someone please help me.Message Edited by PawWriter on 07-23-200709:04 PM

I don't know if this helps, but I've figured out something concerning the constant hard drive access in the IDE. It seems to be constantly updating a large number of .BTD, .BTX, and .BTB files in my user directory: \.jstudio\Ent81\var\cache\mdrstorage\org-netbeans\java\0.70\; as well as master.btd and master.btx in \.jstudio\Ent81\var\cache\mdrstorage\org-netbeans\java\. The files have long names that somewhat resemble registry keys, followed by what looks like a file name (example: f25937eeba6ba265b3364690828492863ee19a278dk16004jrelibrtjar.btd).
The update process seems to be running constantly--the file Modify dates are repeatedly updated to the current time while the IDE is open and thrashing the disk.
Does anyone know what this is or most importantly, how to stop it? I have to get the IDE back in working order on this particular machine, and reinstalling has failed to help.

    Many thanks.
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
