Safari won't play youtube videos anymore. I've never had trouble in the past. I switched to chrome but then back to safari and changed the default browser to safari. Now safari won't open any sites that require a user and password. Any suggestions?

I've recently been getting error messages on youtube videos when using safari. This never used to happen. I tried using chrome but it didn't take care of the problem. When I set my default browser back to safari, safari won't open any websites that require a username and password. Any suggestions?

My case is different from those listed below. First, I'm running OS X 10.8.5 and Safari 6.0.5.
My problem is this:
I run a Google search, say, "youtube somesong", and from the hit list returned from google I
pick some selection. Youtube launches and plays the video without problems. However, when
i click on any of the alternate videos from the page's vertical list, only the name of the chosen video
appears beneath the video I just watched. The new selection itself is not loaded by Safari.
This occurs for any selection I choose. My way around this problem is to force a Safari reload of
the page by using the keyboard shortcut, Command-R. This fills in the old video window with the
video I just chose. Can I conclude that this is a Safari issue alone, or is it a Safari/Youtube combo gotcha? Anyway, the present condition *****.
This problem began sometime after i upgraded to Mountain Lion. I have reset Safari and have also
deleted the Youtube.com Cache, Cookies, and Local Storage from the Privacy settings under
System Preferences. I have also tested the problem by running Safari in 32 bit mode (no luck there).
If anyone out there has experienced this scenario, I sure could use a little help here.

I changed the drive letter on my iPod and now iTunes won't recognize it!

Help please! I contacted an Apple associate and they told me to change the drive letter of my iPod in My Computer. I did that and now iTunes won't recognize my iPod at all and I can't change the drive letter back to the original one. What do I do?

Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Try closing and re-starting iTunes. There have been cases where iTunes refuses to see an iPod, but after re-starting, it works again.
Also try re-booting the entire computer. Especially if the PC has been operating for a long time &/or many programs have been opened and closed, repeatedly.
Other USB connected peripherals may be the cause as well. Try removing all connected USB items and attaching the iPod. If you have a USB keyboard, it may be worth a try using the adapter to convert it to non-USB. If the iPod connects, continue plugging things back in until you have the problem return. You may have then isolated the issue. Sometimes it could be a printer, camera, Flash Card reader, or other attached device causing a conflict.

I downloaded iTunes 11.4 so I could set up an iPod Touch, and now it won't open at all. Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

As mentioned - I was trying to set up an iPod Touch, and it kept telling me "open iTunes," so it dawned on me that I probably needed to update it. So I updated it, and now it just doesn't open (it bounces once, and that's it).
For added info:
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
Technically I keep all my music on an external hard drive, but I don't think anything is corrupted (because it was working fine just before I updated it).

Logic unexpected quit now project won't open???

So, I'm working in a project for about three hours and Logic quits as I clicked to open the audio editor. It is a memory issue. I only have 4GB... But now I can't open the project because it quits every time. What to do???

Thanks SC. I'll try that next time. I was able to open the project in 64bit mode. If I tried to do anything other than play the project it would crash...so I exported the stems into a new project and finished my edits.

I hard re-set my airport extreme, and now it won't come back. Keeps flashing amber for ever!!! help

I forgot my network password, so I attempted to hard set my aiport extreme. Now I can not get it to come back to green. Won't stop flashing amber. Have tried to re-set and un-plug several times to see if I can bring it back and no luck. Anybody have any suggesions?

Sometimes you just have to perform the reset multiple times to get it to "stick." If after multple attempts, it still does not reset properly, it may be possible that your AirPort has failed.

Logic Pro 9 is suddenly crashing on opening any song! Help!

Logic is - literally out of the blue - crashing on opening songs that I've been working on daily for the last 3 months. Ive downloaded nothing and installed no upgrades and yet it hangs on opening every song, always on a different plug in, during the plug in verification...... sometimes it hangs when verifying the basic Logic 'chorus' plugin, and other times third party plug ins like Waves stuff.... Ive no idea how to resolve this, but I can open about 3 of the 13 tunes I have on the go. Any help REALLY appreciated.

Yup - exact same thing happened to me.
I was migrating from an older Mac Pro (2006, 1,1) running Snow Leopard to a brand new Mac Pro running Lion.
I was having weird 'insufficient access" errors, even after repairing and fixing all permissions. An Apple Support doc recommended trashing and reinstalling the prokit.framework.   But after trashing it, the OS would not let me install the new one, saying "a newer version is already on your system".    THe OS seemed to think I had a newer version even though I'd trashed it, and programs (Logic, iPhoto, Final Cut) would crash immediately on startup, saying the framework file was not found.
Grr.    Calls to Apple Support proved fruitless. The OS support guys tried hard but were baffled and sent me over to Logic support guys who were not only clueless but arrogant -- they insisted my hard drive was faulty even though it worked with every program except Logic and passed every diagnostic test.
I tried reinstalling Logic Pro from original disks. No fix.   I tried the OS 10.7.4 combo updater reinstall. No fix.
My fix was to copy the prokit.framework file from my old Snow Leopard machine onto the new machine.   At least now I'm able to run Logic but only in 64 bit mode.   Attempting to run 32 bit causes an immediate crash on startup. This ***** coz as we all know Logic only scans certain plugins when in 32 bit mode.   Also, since Logic "Pro" STILL can't export audio to quicktime movies in 64 bit mode, I have to use iMovie to submit my work...
I'm still hoping there's an answer for this one.   I'll be installing Mountain Lion soon and MAYBE that will do it -- but I don't dare attempt it while I'm still in the middle of projects that are currently running shakily, but at least they're running.
I'm at least a little heartened to see that I'm not the only one stuck in this bind.

IMessage - I changed the time on macbook pro and now it won't let me log in. All contacts are shown in red.

I have a macbook pro, bought new in Sept 2011.
Yesterday, I changed the date (forwarded it to 2020 - for a silly reason) and then changed it back. Now my iMessage on the macbook shows up that all contacts are offline and when I can't log in.
I've trawled through a number of the already-existing threads on this and tried a few things - in Terminal, or in Systems Prefs but can't get it to work.
Any thoughts?

Log out or restart the computer and try again. Make sure the date is now correct.

I set up wireless router and now it won't turn back on

I had a friend set up the router so that my Comp sent out wireless signal.
It doesn't automatically turn on and I can't find how to turn it back on.

Thanks for the answer, I have gotten it working, it was showing as being on (internet sharing) I then turned if off and on again (internet sharing) and that seemed to do it.

I was in editor and got a scratch full message, went to help, changed the plugins to C drive as stated, now editor won't open, just organizer

I was in editor and got a scratch something or other is full. so I went to help and it said add plugins locations, so per the instructions I went to preferences and changed my scratch/plugins to the C drive. Now editor will not launch, just organizer.

Could you describe the problem you're having with the new style email in more detail?
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove your live.com cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
This will open a dialog where you can remove the cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does that help?

I recently applied software updates for Mountain Lion (10.8.1) and 9.1.8 to Logic Pro and now Logic Pro is not operating correctly. Has anyone else experienced this same problem. (Mac Pro Desktop, Mountain Lion).

Thanks. I added the supplemental and it looks like I may be back to normal here. I will have to fully check it out but Logic is opening up correctly and no weirdness so far.
