I added Lion and lost word!!! Not happy! How can I get word back?

The "genius" at the genius bar suggested I upgrade to Lion in order to sync I-Cloud. He saw my computer and gave me no warnings about Lion
deleting my Word applications. Now I have a project I need to work on and cannot access my documents! Also, I need to change the scroll back since I don't like the reverse mouse scroll that automatically happened with Lion. How can I get Word back?

Regarding your other question about scrolling: Lion is really designed with trackpads in mind.
If you don't like the scroll direction then reverse it by un-checking "scroll direction: natural" in either your trackpad or mouse preferences.
You can use any number of applications to open and save Word formatted documents. Some are free. MS Office 11 is not your only choice.

This was the scenario:
The first time I updated, it was only my music that was lost.
When I got my music back, I lost my apps.
When I got my apps back, my contacts, notes and photos were lost.
Now I got back everything except for my photos.
(Yes, I restored from backup several times since the first update.)
Do you think if I try restoring from back up, my photos that were taken from my ipod will be restored finally?

i mistakenly dropped my iphone 4 in the bath, send it for repairing @ an apple reseller in my contry. now im trying to sunc my old iphone but find out that my photos are not backed up. how can i get the photos back. they mean the world to me alot of memories and photos of me and my father who passed away less than a year ago. what shall i do? can the techs @ the store back it up before repairing?

Restore the system from your Time Machine Backup.
Just downloading and Installing OS X Mountain Lion does not Delete anythng. That is a User choice and not really even a choice during the normal install of Mt Lion.
So it was Not Mt Lion that Deleted everything, that was you that made that choice during the install.
Maybe you shouldn't of made those choices with a computer you needed to use for school.

Me too, also upgraded to IOS 5 last night and all the apps, photos, books have disappeared from the iPod Touch. I can see them in iTunes, but can't figure out how to put them back into/onto the iPod.
I tried the right-click and choosing "restore from back-up" without success, as it had just backed up from the updated iPod without all the stuff on it.
I could use a really simple explanation: how to put the stuff that I can see in iTunes on my Mac, back onto the iPod touch??
And yes, it would be nice if Apple just posted a clear, simple explanation of how to do this . . . I haven't found that yet . . .

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.

Did this back along to mine. Plug it into itunes on your pc (or Mac) and click on the ipod icon on the left hand side. When the device options come up on the main screen, click on restore. Follow the steps and it should restore to factory settings. If you had icloud activated on the ipod all previous purchases should be in the cloud and ready to download onto the ipod afte rit has been restored to factory settings, otherwise you'll have to download them all again. Hope it helped.

You can do one of two things, first is to locate the songs on your computer by looking in the iTunes Folder. Once found then drag and drop them on top of iTunes to import them in. The second option is to revert back to a previous version of your iTunes library to get the data back before you installed. The articles below will assist with those steps.

Short of taking it to a repair shop for extraction, you can shut it down and try shaking the devil out of it.

Its a easy fix,it will take too much time to type out all of the steps,
Check your email account. see if they are their, You can then import them on your DAV card, The best thing to is add them to icoud then they will be safe.
Apple support can talk you through it.

I going to assume you use a mac,
connect to your computer,
open itunes,
go to the iphone page,
info tab
untick sync calendars, sync the iphone,
then tick the sync calendars again,
sync,
that should restore it.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.
