I almost always receive the message "[filename] file couldn't be opened" when opening an existing Pages file in iCloud. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I am using a MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.2, using Pages 5.5.2.
I've tried signing off and on, and restarting my MacBook, which sometimes works, but the problem re-occurs. Same problem using Apple Numbers and iCloud.
Opening local files seems to work more consistently.
This issue has made Pages and iCloud fairly useless to me. Does anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

This is what just worked for me:
In Finder, I've dragged all Pages files from the iCloud Drive to the Documents folder on my iMac. (Finder asks your confirmation to remove the files from iCloud; confirm that)
Once they were on my local hard drive, the files could be opened again.
It looks to me as if something has changed in iCloud quite recently, leading to this mess. Not the first time, I've had this before. Now it's back. Sigh. And, as you wrote, it renders iCloud fairly useless. Back to Dropbox I suppose.

After I downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox, I started getting these error messages every so often when I launched the browser. These messages will usually pop up every third time or so I open the browser and pop up on every page, sometimes multiple times, and I have to clear them away before I can do anything on the page. I am trying to place text in an Adobe Reader document. I have done this hundreds of times. Everytime I click on the text icon it Adobe crashes. How can I fix this.

I have a regular post for the top 3 or 4 fixes for that 9808 error. Obviously you are going to skip #1, since you've already tried it. Let me know how you get on with the next 2.
The top 3 fixes to itunes error 9808 seem to be
1) Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced, make sure that SSL 3.0 is checked and TLS 1.0 is checked. Also under Security make sure that the “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)” is unchecked. Then click ok and fire up iTunes.
2) The culprit was Norton. The users are set up as Admin and Standard. I have Parental Controls turned on in both Vista as well as Norton. Admin users had no problems connecting to iTunes. Standard users would get the error. I had to go to Norton’s Personal Firewall and add the program “iTunes Helper.exe” and set the option to “Allowed” (”iTunes.exe should already be in the Allowed category.) in order for the standard users to be able to connect.
3) close iTunes if you have it open right now. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes. Delete or cut the preferences.xml file which contains your iTunes preferences. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes and delete or move the preferences.xml file. For Mac users, there is only one file you must delete or move a to a new location and is located at User > Library > Preferences > com.apple.itunes.plist. Restart iTunes and it will recreate those two (or one) files with the default settings. Feel free to set your preferences back to what they were and then connect to the iTunes store and enjoy!
And #4, see if you can get into the iTS from a different windows admin account on the same PC. -
In Word I get the spinning pinwheel when I try to copy and paste. I can switch to other programs just fine but I can't perform the copy and paste and I need to perform a hard reboot to close Word. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.

Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, double check the volume button just in case. If you still can't hear the tones go into your settings>sounds and make sure the options are on.

I have been trying to update iTunes, Safari, and Quicktime. Keep receiving "invalid signature" and then it removes the attempted download. Does anyone know how to fix this?I have had this happen as well. What I had to do was sync the iPod to remove the album and the resync the album back to the Classic. I've had this happen with my iPhones as well. Must be a bug in either the current OS or iTunes versions.

After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
And that did the trick.
