You should only make purchases for all your devices using a single Apple ID. There is no need, and indeed a good reason not to, set up a new Apple ID with each new device purchase. While items purchased under different IDs can be played on a single device, you cannot merge Apple IDs and it makes it cumbersome.
Apple IDs do not expire but may become dormant and require reactivation if they are not actively used.
You should make note of your Apple ID and passwords and keep a record of it. Like a bank account it contains access to items with value. Update your Apple ID email address as they change.

I have two accounts and need to merge into one account. How? Where to even ask this question? Chat will not assist in this.

Over the years I accidentally opened a second Adobe account, both with product registrations. I need to merge these accounts into one and see no way to do that. Updates to software will not install because serial for previous version not found on upgrade versions now installed. Could the 2 different accounts be a cause for this? I got no help at all from chat.

Now I want to carry all of these songs over into my library which is empty onto my labtop and continue to put songs onto it. I have already downloaded iTunes for my labtop and everytime I go to plug in my iPod, iTunes opens automaticly and this message appears The iPod is linked to another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library? I click no and this is wear I am at. If you want to use the iPod with more than one computer, you need to change to manual transfer as outlined here.

I have windows 8 and need to install itunes (without internet)

I've got the set up.exe file through another computer (latest version downloaded) and have put on desktop of windows 8, but when i go to use the set up it say "this app can't run on your PC" find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher" any clues?
My main reason for wanting to put iTunes on the windows 8 computer is so i can use my iPhone 4 as a hotspot, I've seen that it won't work unless iTunes is installed....
feel like I'm going around in circles!

You are allowed to have two activated installations, so if you prefer you can keep the original installation intact. If you prefer not to then the minimum you need to do is deactivate it.

Error message "scratch disk full"won't let me install it. It is NOT full...it's a brand new 2T hard drive. I don't want to have to partition the hard drive. Any other way around this?

I don't want to have to partition the hard drive.
It's inevitable. Those old programs simply cannot deal with anything larger than 500GB and you will be lucky if it installs at all, given other factors like UAC or general incompatibilities with current operating systems...
