  • I have a new iMac.  How do I transfer my files from my iPod into Itunes?

How do I transfer my music files from my Ipod to my Imac?  It appears to be simple to sync the Imac to the Ipod, but how to I put what I have on my Ipod on my new Imac?

You can't do that because the music is synced to  a computer. You can however move an iTunes library from an old computer to a new one.
BTW please complete your profile, it is incredibly difficult to help someone when there is no information about their system. If you don't know how please click Profile Update. After setting up your profile it will show in your next thread.

  • I redeemed my gift card on one computer, how do I transfer the balance to another?

I redeemed my gift card on one computer, but when I try to by music on my other computer, it asks for my credit card information. So I am guessing I need to some how transfer the balance on the card to the other computer? I assumed it would be there on both since it is the same account on both?
    Anyone have ideas?

A couple of questions for you...
Did you get an email confirming the card had been successfully redeemed?  Is it possible you've changed iTunes store since you redeemed the gift card?  The gift card can only be used within the iTunes store it was purchased / redeemed.  If you're still in the same store, then try logging out of your iTunes account and logging back in.  That should reset the balance.
The balance should be visible when you're browsing within the store (on the bar towards the top of the screen on the right hand side - next to the ID you've logged in to the store with.
If you're still not happy with the results, the iTunes Store Billing support staff will be able to give you a definitive answer on your account balance.  I don't know where you are, so here are links to the US and UK support pages:

  • Help syncing my Ipod for first time... when I already have music on my comp

Well. my Ipod Touch broke a few days ago, due to technical problems. Since I was insured Apple got me a new one, but I already have music on my computer, and my computer was connected with my old Ipod before. How do I make it so my new Ipod will take all the songs from my computer and sync it instead of deleting everything. I'm on the part where I set up my Ipod now and it gives me two options. I can either "Set up as New Ipod" or "Restore from the backup of 'Ipod Touch'"(which was my old ipod that broke). Which should I choose. My mom got the ipod for me, and she was told I was supposed to set it up as a new thing or something. But she was unclear and doesn't know exactly. So which should I choose?
    Thanks in advance.

Ok, so, I can't restore it from back up, since the new ipod is totally new, and it is not updated or anything. so should I just set it up as a new Ipod and go from there? Will anything i had on my old ipod be deleted from my computer? Like will my apps and music be deleted, or my mail info and bookmarks?

  • I have music that is playing within the iTunes program, but not on my iPod. How can I fix this?

I have music that is playing within the iTunes program, but not on my iPod. How can I fix this?

    Skipping songs
The iPod seems to fail to play all of the occasional track that iTunes, and indeed other PMPs, are happy to play. There is probably some minor technical error in the internal structure of the file which is normally ignored by other playback software but causes the Classic to bail out.
If you use Windows you may like to try scanning the files with MP3Validator which can find & fix some internal MP3 errors.
Some users have also suggested that completely removing all id3 tags and then replacing the information can be a solution. This can be achieved in iTunes by selecting an affected track, right/control clicking and using the option Convert id3 tags> None. Since some files may mistakenly have more than one tag you may need to repeat this action. Once you have confirmed that no tag is present you can replace the tag information using Convert id3 tags > V2.3 (I believe it is recommended to avoid using V2.4).
Personally I have found files for which these solutions don't work. In this case the workaround is either to re-rip the tracks or get iTunes to re-encode the file, e.g.convert AAC to MP3 or vice versa and sync the newly encoded file to the iPod instead. Because transcoding will cause a loss of fidelity you should keep your original file so that if a future iPod firmware resolves this issue you can put your original files back onto the iPod.

    Authorization
iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

  • I have an IPhone 5, and of course I have used ITunes. My Computer has been completely destroyed, so I have to Purchase a new one. How can I transfer my music from my iPhone to my New PC?

I have an IPhone 5, and of course I have used ITunes. My Computer has been completely destroyed, so I have to Purchase a new one. How can I transfer my music from my iPhone to my New PC?

The way I do it is I hook to my windows computer, it will pop up iTunes. I click iTunes off. The phone will show as another drive on your computer. Click it open then migrate to the photos folder from the iPhone.
Then select all, cut then right click on your pictures folder on your computer or make a new folder on your desk top like I do and right click on new folder and select paste.
Photos will be gone. Just remember to turn off the iPhone sync in your photos folder on the phone or they will come back
    Good Luck

If the music is in your music file or on an external hard drive (windows) then, on iTunes, go to file>add to library and then choose what you want to add. Then sync music to your iPhone and your done.

  • My hard drive with all my actual music files died.  how can I transfer the music on my ipod classic to another drive?

my hard drive with all my actual music files died.  how can I transfer the music on my ipod classic to another drive?

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. Here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.
