I already own Student Edition CS6 Photoshop Extended and Want to Buy the Design Standard Student

I already own the Student/Teacher Edition CS6 Photoshop Extended and want to buy the Design Standard Student/Teacher edition in order to add In-Design and Illustrator to my Mac. My concern is that, since Photoshop is included in the Design Standard collection, will my pre-existng copy of Photoshop keep me from getting a serial number/license on the other two products since I know you can only puchase one product per student? I was just hoping someone could clarify this for me before I spent money on something that I may not can use. I really want In-Design and Illustrator and this is my cheapest route as a student.

Hi findezel1,
There will not be any issues, while you are installing the Adobe CS6 Design Standard, you would not have an option to install Adobe Photoshop CS6 as its already installed.
Alternatively, You may de activate and uninstall the Adobe Photoshop CS6(curently installed) and keep it as a back up and use the Photoshop which is a part of Adobe CS6 Design Standard.

  • Need to download design standard student cs5

I am changing computers and need to download cs5 design standard student edition as i no longer have the discs.  i tried the regular design standard, but the serial numbers didn't work with that version, and I can't find a student version to download on the site...

Normally, the only thing that differentiates a student version from a commercial version is the serial number that is used.  The software is exactly the same.
The only downloads available for CS5 products from the Adobe site are available thru the following page...
    CS5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Already have Photoshop CS6 extended and want CS6 Design Standard Student and Teacher.

Will this overide Photoshop extended and if not, where will Standard Photoshop go?

Only one PS can exist. If the Extended version is already in place, the suite should leave it alone and not lock it onto its serial so it would revert to Standard...

  • Upgrade CS5.5 Design Standard (Student Edition) to CS6 Design Standard (Student Edition) ?

    Hello everybody,
in 2011 I buyed the Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard (Student Edition). Is it possible to uprage this version including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, to CS6 Student Edition with the these programs?
    Thank you very much,
    MediaMarv

    Hi MediaMarv,
Student edition software is already at a discounted price and not eleigible for an upgrade.
You can though buy a new student version of CS6 software.

  • Crash when trying to print in cs6 photoshop extended

I need to troubleshoot printing in cs6 photoshop extended. I have printed a lot but it started crashing yesterday. Toshiba - All-In-One 16gb 64 bit Windows 7 home premium. video driver is up to date. I have uninstalled/reinstalled.

Because this forum is for beginners learning the basics of Photoshop, I'm moving your question to the Photoshop General Discussion forum.

  • Says invalid serial number-i got it via email from adobe. (CS6 design standard student edition).

says invalid serial number-i got it via email from adobe. (CS6 design standard student edition).

I think that you'll need to get in touch with support to sort this out.
But you could check your order to see if you ordered and upgrade or a new purchase. The serial numbers for upgrade are different, and require the earlier version on your computer ( or its serial number instead).
If you've oredered an upgrade, check that you're entering the correct serial number. You'll probably be prompted to enter both: once for qualifying product and once for the new upgrade.
Let us know if this was the issue. If not, I suggest that you get in touch with Adobe Support.

  • CS6 Photoshop Extended

After installing the trail version of CS6 photoshop extended , why do i not see the 3D pull down menu?

Because your graphics card isn ot supported or at least its driver is not up to snuff. 3D featurtes require working GPU features.

  • Photoshop vs. Photoshop Extended and FCE

Due to a variety of reasons, I need to move up (way up) from Photoshop Elements to the full Photoshop program.
I'm reading all about the neato video-related features that the PS "Extended" version has for users. It all sounds pretty sweet, but I'm wondering if the extra cash to pony up for it is worth it.
Also, the kinds of things that Extended can do brings up another question in my mind: Can FCE handle everything that Extended offers? I'd hate to buy Extended, only to find out that it overpowers FCE and is a better match for FCP/FCS.
I'd appreciate any guidance from those "in the know." Thanks in advance.
Before I forget: I'm struggling with deciding between CS4 vs. CS5, too .. I'd also appreciate any help on that question, especially vis-a-vis video.

    Hi -
Ask yourself what your goals are.
If you are interested in pursuing a professional career in video post production, then having both a working knowledge and efficient skill set for working in Adobe CS is essential.
The Adobe CS is the de facto standard in professional edit bays worldwide, and is used to create, manipulate and convert graphics 24/7 around the world.
I cannot imagine an editor being hired today that was not at least familiar with Adobe CS and as proficient in Photoshop as FCE/FCP.
If you are a hobbyist, then PS elements will be fine. That is the market for which it is intended.
If you are aspiring towards a higher level of production ability and quality, then buying the Adobe CS is an investment that you will not regret.
Having Adobe CS will allow you to take your FCE projects to a higher level.
Learning curve: steep. Cost: steep. Value to you once you get going in it: priceless.

  • I have the Cs5 student Edition of Adobe Web and design, do I have to upgrade to a full?

I'm close to graduating and I plan on getting CS6 before I graduate so I can get a student discount, but will I have to upgrade to a full verson of the sofeware once I gradate? If so how much is that going to cost? Will I be able to use the CS6 student for commercal use so I can work at a job/office? Can you please tell me? I really need to know this!

You can continue to use your Student Edition after your graduation for any legal purpose. As a student you can purchase a new version of CS 6 Student programs. There is no upgrade from one student edition to another. You can of course, upgrade a student version to a non-student version, but the cost for doing so is ussually much more expensive than a new student version, so take advantage of your student status while you can.

It relates to Elements 10, but it's the same for 11.
