I am a fool

After having phone for nearly 2 years, I decided to use the device lock.  Needless to say 20 min.  later it would not let me open it.  As a definition of insanity states- "doing the same over and over and expecting a different result"  I used all 10 attempts.  I realize I have lost all information - oh well.  Now I am attempting to reboot or start again, screen says "www.bberro.com/bb10-0015" I have attempted the reload.  Downloaded "BlackBerry Link. dmg" installed link.  No luck- just seems to want me to install link again.  See nothing to indicate what device or anything.  When I plug into Q5 from computer where to I plug in (recharging port or that opening in the below keyboard- if so where do I get the cable for that?  I have only used phone as a phone, camera, and document.  Live in an isolated place 25km from Arctic Circle and no support available till I leave at end of June.  Would really appreciate some help.  Thanks Cam
Found the little micro card- I guess it and the sim card would be erased also?  Do I try downloading to it from my computer? I am out of my league.  Any suggestions?

It sounds like something happened during the security wipe.  Did the battery die during the wipe process?
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33480
As per the KB above, you'll need to reload the OS.
The microSD card should not have been wiped unless you had encryption enabled on the media card, in which case all the data on the card will no longer be readable.  The white-ish sim card won't be erased.

You didn't mention what error(s) you've encountered? A workaround for the most commonly hit problem is here Re: error in Muse : Object UID:U6875 has two (or more) owners: U3633 and U3165
If you have a copy of your .muse file that has not been saved using 2014.3, you can downgrade by uninstalling Muse and then choose Previous Version in the Filters drop down in the Apps panel of the Creative Cloud desktop app. There will be a popup next to Muse where you can select a prior version to install.

  • How I got fooled by Nokia Care, Bangalore. [Lumia ...

    Hi,
I purchased a Nokia Lumia 720 on May 2nd week 2013 from an authorized Nokia vendor in Bangalore. Now, here are the issues I've faced, and here's how Nokia has been 'kind' to serve me.
    > The phone has had reception issues from Day 1. The person on the other end of the line, cannot hear my voice clearly, which ends up in me shouting/talking louder than usual to make sure the person gets me. Initially, I thought this might be a network issue, or maybe because the phone is too new. I decided to give this a few days.
    > Day 7, and things got worse. Poor reception, phone lagging, volume increasing decreasing automatically, notifications failing. On contacting Nokia care, they asked me to format  my 'seven day' old phone. That was done. No change.
    > Day 10. I finally gave up and thought of switching networks in hope of getting better reception. Mind you, I was getting excellent reception at my house with this same SIM on my previous handset.
    > Day 14. New SIM activated. Issues remain. Contacted Nokia, they asked me to move to 'Micro Sim' and not cut the normal 'Sim' as that might be the reason for the issue. Plus, the other issues increased making the phone unusable at times because of the lag.
    > Day 17. Microsim activated, Issues gone worse. Planned to visit Nokia Care, Bangalore. Got told that I need to format my phone again and everything will be fine.
    > Day 18. Formatted. Issues remain. Visited another Nokia Care in hope for better service. But well, got treated arrogantly. According to the customer 'care' rep at the Nokia Care, water has made it's way into the motherboard of the phone and that has been causing issues. When told that these issues were there since day 1, the customer care guy cuts you off arrogantly, and instead blames you of phone tampering. Like, really. The phone wasn't even taken to any service station apart from Nokia, and even when it was taken to Nokia, they did not open the phone. Apart from that, I have taken utmost care of the phone; no rough usage at all.
Now, it's pretty clear that the phone has had issues since day 1, and I've followed every instruction given by Nokia to hopefully fix my phone. Nokia on the other hand is hell bent on blaming the customer for the issues in the phone; also washing their hands off from fixing it within the warranty period since the supposed motherboard does not come under warranty, and has billed me Rs. 1200/- and asked for SEVEN day period to fix the phone, today being the second day of waiting period.
I do not understand why I have to pay Rs. 1200 to fix a brand new phone which has had issues since day 1, plus, why is Nokia so stubborn in proving that the customer is always wrong, a fool; and whatever the reps at Nokia Care say, are as accurate as it can be. Oh, not to forget the arrogant behaviour of the reps which make you embarrased infront of the others queued up to service their phone.
A truly apalling experience for a Nokia lover like me, do not think I'd ever buy a Nokia phone ever; even if given for free. I'd rather save myself the harrasment the reps intend to cause you.

P.S. I can give you the various acknowledgement, jobsheets, and IMEI number of my phone in case you need to retrieve any detail.

It appears that this is due to firmware corruption and you can fix it by using the micro USB cable and hooking it to iTunes.  I have not tried it yet but supposedly several people were able to resolve their problem this way.  If you do try it, let me know.  I don't have the cable at this time.

  • Dual Displays (Fooling Keynote)

I read something online and I can't find it anymore. What I'm looking for is how to "fool" my Powerbook and Keynote into thinking I have dual displays so I can test out my presentation's presenter options.
I know it had something to do with attaching the dongle, changing the System Preferences and Keynote Preferences. I also remember that things had to be done in a specific order. I have tried a few combinations, but none of them work. I've also searched the web with not luck.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
I'll be presenting Monday morning at a convention from my laptop with a projector that will be set up in my classroom. Unfortunately, I won't be able to practice until 1 hour before my presentation.
    Thanks!

  • I am fooled by Oracle installation since Oracle 6 ( 7 years ago )

The purpose of the "Public Download of Oracle Products" should be a good advertisment of Oracle towards all the users.
But the installation is so much difficult that made everybody complain.
After more than 20 times of installation - uninstallation, I start thinking whether should I give up considering Oracle (speically 9iAS).
Also, the patch installation (of 9iAS for Linux) is so much complicated, some of the steps cannot succeed. In this situation, How can I feel reliable to put such a system on working ?????
When I recall the experience of installing Microsoft's BackOffice4.5 or BackOffice 2000, I never have any error during installation, no matter on the first installation steps or add more components after first installation.
When will Oracle simplify the installation step or made the installation more friendly and more stable?
I am fooled by Oracle Installation since Oracle 6 (7 years ago), and now still fooling by Oracle9i Products yet...

  • How to manually uninstall or fool the dynadock U3.0 drivers

I had to restore my computer from a backup image.  After the restore, my dynadock U3.0 was no longer recognized, and even the icons in 'Programs and Features' did not look normal.
I thought to myself, "No problem...I will simply uninstall and re-install the drivers..."
I tried to gracefully uninstall the drivers via 'Programs and Features', but the two line items that were related to the dynadock would not uninstall.  They both claimed they could not find the appropriate MSI package for their respective installs.
As a result, I used the third-party utility 'Revo Uninstaller Pro' to force the uninstall.  Revo seemed to indicate success, and the two line items related to the dynadock are no longer seen in Programs and Features.
HOWEVER, when I now attempt to re-install the dynadock drivers, I get the message:
"DisplayLink Software for TOSHIBA USB Display Drivers is already up to date."
So I'm looking for guidance on what to hack to fool the dynadock installation program into thinking it needs to perform a fresh installation.
I was really happy with the functionality and performance of the dynadock U3.0, but right now it is a brick.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I figured out why my dynadock installation was corrupted in the first place.  The disk imaging software that I use did some incorrect things with the Windows registry *after* restoring a backup image to my hard drive.  The registry manipulation adversely affected several things, including the dynadock drivers and programs (and the ability to uninstall them).  I addressed the fundamental problem that led to this misbehavior and executed another image restore to my hard drive.  My dynadock and everything else worked perfectly after this restore.
Even though my issue was rare, I thought I would pass on knowledge of the following cleaner/uninstallation utility that I found at the DisplayLink website.  It worked perfectly during my diagnostics...
    http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297
The TOSHIBA dynadock U3.0 utilizes a chipset/technology from DisplayLink (i.e., it is OEM'ed to TOSHIBA from DisplayLink).  This software and hardware technology is what allows the dynadock to receive the video stream via USB from the host computer.  Vendors--in this case TOSHIBA--build the rest of their functionality on top of the 'DisplayLink Core Software'.  As a result, the cleaner utility from DisplayLink wipes out all trace of the entire dynadock installation.

No, Mozilla doesn't send such a alert, so don't get fooled by it.
If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
*Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
*Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

  • There is a problem with this connection's security certificate The remote computer cannot be authenticated due to problems with its security certificate. Security certificate problems might indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send

    Hi,
I have this Windows 2008 R2 on which I installed remoteapp some years ago.

"There is a problem with this connection's security certificate

Security certificate problems might indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the remote computer."

Does the computer account have Enroll permission to the certificate template?
From the Server running your CA, run mmc, click File then Add/Remove Snap-in...
Add Certificate Templates and click OK.
Find the certificate template, then right click and select properties.  On my CA its call ed RemoteDesktopComputers but might be called something different depending on what what template your certificate is based on.
On the security tab, click Oblect types, check Computers then OK. Enter the Computername and click OK.  Then give your computer account Enroll permisssion.

  • How to fool the cluvfy (11g) into thinking CentOS is an acceptable OS

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to fool the CVU (11g) to think CentOS 5 is acceptable? With 10g it was easy, just edit the /etc/redhat-release file. But it seems Oracle has gotten wise and made 11g tougher to fool.
I am in the midst of installing Oracle 11g Clusterware. I am at the tailend of the Clusterware Installation, on the "Configuration Assistants" screen and I just got a failure message at the part where the OUI runs the "Oracle Cluster Verification Utility", this command is executed:
cluvfy stage -post crsinst -n node1,node2
The command fails because it doesn't accept the Operating System and then OUI reports the error.
Has anyone got a workaround for this?
    Thanks,
    Phany

    Thanks for your response.
I see what you are saying. You are saying it is safe to click the Next button on the OUI if you are confident the error thrown by the CVU is ignorable.
I want to clarify that my initial impression was that the OUI was stuck at this failure and it was unsafe to ignore the error and proceed farther because perhaps some important step may be skipped. However I reviewed my screenshots from the last time I installed RAC a year ago (10gR2), and it seems like on this "Configuration Assistant" Screen the CVU is the last step. The other assistants "Succeeded", so I feel fairly confident with clicking the [Next] button on the OUI and proceeding.
    My screen looks like this:
    ==================================================
    Configuration Assistants
    Tool Name.............................................................Status.............Type
Oracle Notification Server Configuration Assistant.......Succeeded.... Recommended
Oracle Private Interconnect Configuration Assistant.....Succeeded.... Recommended
Oracle Cluster Verification Utility................................Failed (See Details).... Recommended
    ...................................................................... [Retry] .......[Stop]
    Details
    |....blah, blah, blah.............................. |
    | ........................................................|
    [Help]...........[Installed Products].......[Back].......[Next] ........ [Install] ...... [Cancel]
    ==================================================
LOL, I guess it was the popup error message that spooked me into not clicking the Next button:
OUI-25031: Some of the configuration assistants failed/cancelled.
It is strongly recommended that you retry the configuration assistants at this time.
Not successfully running any "Recommended" assistants means your
system will not be correctly configured.

  • Making test code 'Fool Proof??' using an Abort type option

I have created 2 different tests for the Techs where I work. I have both set-up with abort buttons so if something should happen it will abort the test. but every now and then it seems as if someone will close one of the prompts for the test by clicking the 'X' in the upper right. I know I can just do away with the title bar and MAKE them press the button on the front panel to continue but I am not sure I want to do that just yet. What I am curiouos on is if the prompt vi that is running is a subvi in my main program, is there a way to pass through some sort of output if the vi is closed by that 'X'? this way I could put the program into an idle state. allowing the user to select a new task in the program without having to close it and restart.
This program was made about a yer agao and since then I have learned more with LabVIEW and will be working on cleaning my code and improving it as there are some things I should address, but making it fool proof is at the top of my list.
I am hoping there is a way to allow the subvi to pass a boolean or something to know that the prompt window was closed prematurely and to go into an idle state. if not I will remove the title bar to fix that problem.
