I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced. I want to go back to Firefox 3.6. I just downloaded and installed Firefox 4 and it looks alien and hostile to me. I am not computer literate and do not want to have to learn a whole lot of new navigational skills, having just had brain surgery. Firefox 3.6 was performing adequately and I mistakenly thought an "upgrade" would provide something that would be easier, not harder, to use. I guess I was just being naive.

After restoring your iPhone with iTunes, you can transfer the photos and/or videos back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process. This is selected under the photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Or you can create a backup for your iPhone with iTunes on your computer and when restoring your iPhone with iTunes, you can restore from the iPhones backup. Photos/videos in the iPhone's camera roll are included with the iPhone's backup. Although included with your iPhone's backup, I would still import the photos/videos from your iPhone's camera roll first.

Look at what is happenning with your Mac when you run Activity Monitor.
Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor
Click on System Memory to get statistics on memory usage. You should have some free memory.
When you have lots of page outs more memory will be helpful. My entry for entry for Page ins/outs is:
Page ins/outs: 29163/0
Notice I have 0 pageouts which says that I am not using my harddrive for extra memory space. Thus, I have enough memory.
Activity Monitor has a neat feature where it can display a dynamic dock icon. In Activity Monitor View > Dock icon > Show cpu history.

New SSD on the way, want to install Snow Leopard. What disc do I need?

Hi,
I have a 2008 Mac Pro, currently running Leopard 10.5.8 but along with the Snow Leopard OS I have ordered a 128GB SSD that will be my primary boot drive from the moment it arrives.
Since the Mac Pro has 4 slots for hard drives I will just throw out an old 200GB SATA HD and put my current 1TB bootdrive in its place.
My SSD will be installed and I plan on installing snow leopard on it without prior erasing of my Leopard 1TB disk.
How can I even accomplish this?
It seems that (this is what I have taken from a few threads around here) I will need to have Leo installed to use the upgrade disc (which I qualify for, technically).
When I want to install Snow Leo on a fresh hard drive, is there a step in the installation that simple asks to put in our Leopard disc so the installer verifies we have it, then continues with the Snow Leopard install?

You can do what you want with either the $29 or the $9.99 upgrade disk. Leopard does not need to be installed.
To erase and install (see upgrade option below), start up to your DVD and stop after selecting your language. Use the menus to start Disk Utility and erase your drive. Quit Disk Utility and proceed with your installation. At the end, you will be able to choose to reclaim your settings, files, and apps from your original installation (on the external now) (plug in the external at the point of the last install restart).
Upgrading is a very sound process on a Mac. An upgrade is performed by installing over your existing installation from the desktop or having started from your SL DVD. All your programs, data, and settings will be present after an upgrade, but incompatible programs will be archived.

Hi. Can anyone help me write a Java program that ask the user to input their class and the grade they think they will get in each class. Then find the grade point average for that user. it needs to use JOptionPane and display the classes, its grade, and the users grade point average

Self-note: Class needs to ask what class, ask what grade in that class, get gradepoint average.
If you're like me when I first took java and I started getting advice, though I heard terms like method/constructor/etc, I didn't truly start to understand it until way later.
Does your teacher require you to use more than 1 class for this program and are you using an IDE (Eclipse, netbeans, etc)?
Usually an IDE will give you options to complete a JOptionPane which saves your wrists some fatigue and helps you pick out what you need.
Here's something you may consider starting out with:

}What that does is declare three variables (grade, gpa, and class).
Then it asks the user for their class name and a number grade from 1-100. (If your teacher isnt asking for anything specific like a letter grade then I would go with that)
It takes the user's input and stores it into grade and gpa as shown to the left of the Joptionpane( ie. grade = )
You'll probably want to make a loop and use a YES_NO_CANCEL Joptionpane (google for usage and ask for more help if you need help writing this)
So that a student can enter as many grades as he wants before stopping the program.
Then you'll have to take all those grades and get the average and assign a letter grade based on what the average is( im not sure exactly how GPA works but it's probably like if you have a grade of 90+ it's 4.0, 80+ is 3.0, etc etc)

You may get a dialog box indicating you need to contact Microsoft to activate it if you've used up all your activations (2 for the professional version or 3 for the home/student version). Don't worry - you won't be hassled, just explain that you just bought a new computer and you are transfering the license.

sign in with the proper account
from then on, when the store ask for your password it should be with the correct ID

Yes, the email addresses need to be unique to each device. You may use the same Apple ID on each device, but the email address used by each device needs to be different.

New Home Movies from iTunes not showing up on Apple TV

I edit a lot of home movies in Final Cut. When I am done I use "Compressor" to convert the uncompressed movie files to an Apple TV format. The problem I am having now is that after I import them into iTunes they aren't showing up on either of my two Apple TVs when i use Home Sharing on my local network. I am able to play the movies in iTune and play them on my Apple TV by using AirPlay, but I would prefer not having to do this.
A few things to note:
1. Software is up to date on Apple TV
2. I have "Share my library on my local network" checked and "Share my entire library" selected under SHARING in my iTunes preferences

Are the files in the library?
I notice that music and movie categories exist, and I can watch the movies I have converted using handbrake, and iMovie for home movies that we're added to my iTunes library....but... I want to sort this into kid movies, parent movies, and home video categories. Apple TV will be so much more useful if I don't have to use my iPad to air play my home movies. Browsing a single list of video that includes these 3 distinct functional categories is pretty lame.   Where is my apple freedom here?
I expect this fixed or more easily configured with the new Yosemite and iOS update. I hope there is an Apple TV update to make this better too.
