I am a newb! How do i connect 2 or more computers to a single a drive?

Okay this is what i am trying to accomplish...
I want to link 2 or more of my macs to a single a drive(or i guess a raid not really sure what that even is lol) I do HD editing so i know that it need to be fast. I dont really want to spent anymore money than i have to. I have heard things about a NAS and RAID. I am not really sure what it all means. I basically just need to know what software(os x, os x server, idk) i will need and what hardware (cables, cards, drives, computer)
I have a 466 mhz g4 that i dont use, a QS dual 1 ghz G4, 1.6 ghz g5, dual 1.8 ghz g5 it might be (2.0), quad-core macpro, powerbook. and multiple firewire external hard-drives.
I understand that in a NAS that one computer is a dedicated server which one could i use. and how do set it up with software and hardware.

I have just refromatted my hard drive and reinstalled itunes; how do tie it back to my library on an external hard drive?

If the whole library was on the external drive then press and hold down shift as you start iTunes, then use the Choose option to reconnect to it.
If it was only the media folder, but you backed up the library folder then restore that to <User's Music> in your rebuilt machine and you're good to go.
If you forgot to backup the library folder, but you don't care about ratings, play counts, playlists etc. then shift-start-iTunes, Create a new empty library at the root of the external drive, e.g. at X:\iTunes, move the media folder inside that as X:\iTunes\iTunes Media, then use File > Add Folder to Library to import the media.
Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Sorry for the delay. I really wanted to see if I could figure this out before bothering anyone else.So far I have done the following: Created a new ODBC connection using Admin Tools > Data Sources (ODBC). I created a USER DSN connection (the first tab) and filled in the following fields:Data Source Name: orclDescription: Linux Oracle database (192.168.1.150)User Name: hrServer: 192.168.1.150When I create a new report (as you suggested), I chose this ODBC connection as the data source. But when I click the data source name (orcl) in CR after creating the blank report, I get these errors: ORA-12504: TNS Listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATAIs this because I have not configured my tnsnames.ora file properly on my Linux machine? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm stumped!

How can I connect to multiple WLS instances from a single Apache virtual host

Configuration : WebLogic 5.1 SP8 & Apache
I need to be able to have a configuration that looks something like this.
www.company.com/x -> WL cluster01
www.company.com/y -> WL cluster02
In all the examples that I have been able to find they alway defines the the WL
connection for the entire virtual host, but I need to be able to do it on a location
basis is that possible?

I have a MacPro on my work network and can only attach to the networked printer via IP address. The printer driver is on the print server and I have a path name but I do not know where in my MAC to input the network path/drive.

First install the printer driver on your Mac. Then add the printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan. Beyond that, specific settings for the printer & protocol depend on the printer & network. You may need to call your helpdesk for assistance. Exactly what make/model printer is it, and how is it set up on your network?

If Seagate made an older version of the App that runs on iOS 5 you may be able to get it by Downloading the incompatible App to a computer running iTunes or another Device that can run the iOS 6 version, and then looking for the App in the Purchased Tab of the App Store App on the older iPad.

I have 12 core with Quatro 4000 and 5770, I want to use dual monitor setup, monitors are NEC with Spectraview-II. How do I connect? 4000 only has 1 Display Port and 1 DVI. 5770 has 2 of each, if I use both 5770 Display Ports, does the 4000 contribute?

I read that Display Port has higher band width than DVI, NEC monitors for best performance they recommend using DIsplay Port.
When I was setting this up I looked at a Nvidia Quadro 4000, unfortunately it was for PC, it had 2 Display Ports, in the Mac version they reduce it to one. I did not think there could be a difference.
Mainly want to use it for CS6 and LR4.
How to proceed???
I do not want to use the Quadro 4000 for both, that would not optimize both monitors, one DP and 1 DVI. Using just the 5770 would work but I do not think the 4000 would be doing anything, and the 5770 has been replaced by the 5870.more bandwidth.
Any ideas, I am a Mac newbie, have not ever tried a Mac Pro, just bought off ebay and now I have these problems.
As a last resort I could sell both and get a 5870. That would work, I'm sure of that, it's just that I wanted the better graphics card.

I am a novice at Mac so I read all I can. From what I understand the NEC monitors I bought require Display Port for their maximum performance. The GTX 680 only has DVI outputs. Difference from what I understand is larger bandwidth with the DP.
You said I have the 4000 for CUDA. I am not all that familiar with CUDA and when I do read about it I do not understand it.
A concern I have is, that if I connect the 2 high end NEC monitors via the 5770, using it's 2 Display Ports I would have nothing connected to the 4000. Is the 4000 doing anything with nothing connected? I read where in a PC system the 2 cards would interact but in a Mac system they do not.
Bottom line, as I see it, the 4000 will not be useful at all to me, since I want a dual monitor set-up.
So far the 5870 seems the best choice, higher band width than the 5770, and it has 2 Display Ports to optimize the NEC monitors.
I'm not sure how fine I am splitting hairs, nor do I know how important those hairs are. I am just trying to set up a really fast reliable system that will mainly be used for CS6 and LR4. Those NEC monitors are supposed to be top notch.

Welcome to the Apple community.
The Apple TV doesn't officially support a DVI connection, however you may be able to get it to work. You will first need to check that your TV supports either 720p or 1080p as well as HDCP. If you are able to get the video working over the DVI connection, you may also require a DAC in order to connect with Apple TV's optical audio output to the TVs audio imput.
You may well wish to make sure that the DVI connection works before spending any money on a DAC..

How do I connect both a Mac and PC to Apple TV Home Sharing?

Goal
- I am trying to share both my PC and Mac through my Apple TV2 on the "Computers" home sharing menu.
- These are 2 seperate iTunes accounts as they are 2 different owners of the PC and Macbook.
- However, home sharing only allows me to have one at a time, can I not have 2 computers connected?
(The menu is in fact plural and says "Computers" not "Computer")
Attempt
-I turn on home sharing on my PC with my PC iTunes account, it then shows up on the "Computers" list as PC
-I turn on home sharing on my Mac with my Mac iTunes account, it then shows up on the "Computers" list as Mac, but it deletes the PC share
Troubleshoot
-So I started from scatch and connected the PC share with my PC itunes account, it shows up,
-Then I connect the Mac home sharing with the same iTunes login as my PC, but it also erases my PC from the "Computers" list and just displays the Mac.
Question
-How do I connect both a Mac and PC to Apple TV Home Sharing?
-I want them both to show up in the "Computers" list.
-So the final result will look like this on my Apple TV menu:

You can only assign task to user that are known by the LiveCycle User Manager.
When you configure LiveCycle, you can tell it where you want to get the users from. They can be created them locally in the local database, or synchronized from an LDAP directory in which case it'll read the users from LDAP and make a copy of some of the properties to the internal LiveCycle database.
Bottom line, all users have an id (in the edcprincipalentity table) in the adobe database.
If you need your users to come from a different database, then you need to customize the SPI (security provider interface) so that you can synchronize the users coming from your external database. Again, this is a customization since out of the box, we don't synchronize against external database. But it is possible, the API is there and other customers have done it.
I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Any printer software that comes on CDs will either be available from the printer manufacturer's web site or from Apple. In fact, it is often more current than whatever versions are on the CDs or DVDs.
Also, in most cases, printers with wifi capabilities have to initially be setup by using a USB connection.
