I am completely frustrated trying to get rid of Bing on new tabs I open. I have searched and searched and can find no soltuion. I am about ready to ditch Firefox.

I dont have a toolbar, it does not hijack my homepage. But everytime I open a new tab (which was always blank) I get a stupid bing search bar. That is the only place it shows up, but it is sooo annoying because I always go straight to typing whatever url I a going to, and this bar changes my cursors postion to it. How do I get rid of it?
I have looked in plugins/extensions. It is not there. I have looked in program files, and in control panel -> programs. Nothing there either. Just cahnge the e-mail account asssociated with the account. There was no need to start another account.
You cannot delete and account, nor would you want to. All purchases made with an account will always be tied to that account. -

New tabs had started opening to Yahoo. Stopped using Mozillauntil Chrome started annoying me. You cannot merge two Apple ID accounts. The main reason for this is to prevent theft. If someone were able to get your account information, and then they transferred your purchases from your Apple ID to their own, and then changed all of your login information, you'd not only be locked out of your account, you'd lose your purchase history.
You can download content from multiple Apple IDs (and there's rarely a reason to create more than one Apple ID for a single user) onto your devices, though. Log in with one, download the content, then log out, log in with the second, and download that Apple ID's content. -

You do not copy the profile folder from your old to your new computer; Firefox has created a new profile folder with a new name and will not recognize the old profile folder name. You copy certain files (some items, like passwords, require more than one file) from your old profile to your new profile. See the following articles:

You should not try to copy the Extensions from the old profile to the new. Sometimes it works, but sometimes the extension database files do not update properly. My page used to open to avg secure search for new tabs. I figured out how to disable it but now cannot figure out how to set it so that my new tabs open to a google search.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that wasn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior and you probably did disable that extension.
You need another extension if you want a new tab to open with a specific page.
You can use an extension to set which page to open in a new tab:

My default search engine is Google and I deleted Bing from the Search Providers. Facebook is set as my home page. Whenever I open a new tab, a Bing search box is displayed on the page and it takes the focus so when I am trying to type a URL in the new tab, it is entered in the damn bing search box. trouble with Safari - it keeps shutting down - all because I tried to get rid of MacKeeper ad - after I install what I thought was an update since I already had MacKeeper, it would not allow me to continue without buying the new one. Make a long story short I switch to Firefox and deleted as much as I could of Safari (files, preferences etc) Now I'm at OS Yosemite X 10.10.2 and would like to get Safari up and running again - I've searched for Adware in applications etc but could not find it. Found what to do from the community, but before I go that route...Do I have to know where or if I actually have this spyware? And if I were to reinstall Maveric - would my files and such be undisturbed? so that only Safari would be replaced? I"M LOST .... (as if you couldn't tell)

You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.

In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
