I am converting a PDF to a Word Doc and it is not converting our logo or any handwritten notes to the new document

I am trying to convert a PDF to a Word Document.  I have only recently started using this item so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  When the PDF document is converted to the Word doc it is not converting any symbols, logos or handwritten items.  For example I have a sign letter of intent with a signature that I am trying to convert from a PDF to a word document and the signature does not appear on the word doc.

Hi judyf73891847,
I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I'm not surprised that ExportPDF is having a hard time converting handwriting. One option is to disable OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. Then, ExportPDF won't try to convert those elements into editable text. The only drawback to that is that you won't be able to edit those items when you open the converted document in Word.

Sara

    Hi christinemsd,
It sounds like you may be trying to access the service via Adobe Reader. What happens if you log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com directly?

    Hi conversionnewbie,
Are you able to select the text in Word by triple-clicking inside the text box? (Sometimes text selections can be tricky in converted files.) If you can't select the text, then I'm guessing that the PDF was created from a scanned file (so the text becomes images). Make sure that OCR is enabled when you convert the file to Word. OCR is enabled by default in the ExportPDF web interface, but can be disabled in Adobe Reader. If you're converting to Word from within Adobe Reader, make sure that OCR is enabled and that the correct language is selected:
Please let us know that works for you!

  • After I exported a PDF to a Word doc and downloaded it, I can't get the pointer tool to work.

After I exported a PDF to a Word doc and downloaded it, I can't get the pointer tool to work. When I click on the document text, the only tool is the "move" tool. I can't edit or select text. Please advise.

Version of Adobe: Adobe ExportPDF (not Pro)
    Operating system:  Windows 8.1
Steps I am taking: When the PDF file is selected and opened, I clicked on Tools menu on right side of the screen; then I clicked on Select PDF file; then under Convert To, I selected Microsoft Word (*.docx); then I hit the box below that; and clicked Convert. I then see the message that says it is Converting to Export PDF Online. Then I see a link below that, that says Download Converted File. This takes me online to Adobe Acrobat .com, where, I see the command, Export PDF, and see a blue box on the same screen that says Select PDF Files to Export. I click on the thumbnail of the file I want to export. This brings up, online, a screen containing the file I wanted to convert to Word. Then, on the same screen, I click on the icon on the right hand of the screen that says Download. then I click on the box on the bottom the screen that contains the Word document I had wanted to convert. This brings up the Word doc. in Compatibility Mode the latest Word version, which I am unfamiliar with and which has a Picture Tools tab that I cannot escape from and I cannot get any selection tool other that the Move pointer, and I cannot find the Select text pointer to select any text on the page. I don't want this Word version and do not know how to return to the old version of Word that I am familiar with.
    Can you help me, please?

  • Creating a pdf from a word doc and the image and footer will not show

I am trying to create a pdf from a word doc that has an image and footer. Neither will show in the pdf. Also getting this message "Adobe Acrobat Updater has not been able to check for updates recently. Check online to see if solutions are available from the Adobe website." My Cloud says it is updated.

    What was the Original?
If it was from Word, chances are the top and bottom Margins were set too narrow. (should not be less than .5 inches even more safety 1" would be better). As for graphics. Check in Word preferences (may be called different in a windows machine) make sure in view and Print settings "Graphics" is checked (show Graphics and Print Graphics).

  • Why does choosing "convert to PDF" from a Word Doc's context menu bring up two Save As dialog boxes?

I have a user that every time she chooses "Convert to PDF" from the context menu on a MS Word document she gets a Save As box, enters the name and location, clicks Save. Then Word starts and it brings up another Save As box and makes her enter the name and save location AGAIN. It does then create the PDF, but it is very annoying to her as she makes lots of PDFs for our board of directors (she is our CEO). I have tried it on other PCs that have a similar setup, but none have done this. They all just run the converter window after one dialog box. Please HELP

Does your user have custom add-ons besides the Acrobat PDFMaker add-on?  If so, try disabling the other add-ons as a test to see if you get the same results.
Does your user have a custom template?  Try moving it out and using the standard MS Word template as test?
Did your user have a previous installation of Adobe Acrobat??  If so, check the Add-ons to see if an older version is still registered with MS Word.

  • How do I convert a pdf file into word doc.

I have been trying on my own to figure out the above question, to no avail.  If anyone can help me, I would truly appreciatel it.  Thank you.

Converting a PDF to Word requires Acrobat, or the ExportPDF service.

You have to check with support. This is a user forum. Some of the folks may come by with the phone # or other contact. When you sign up for the conversion, you are using a subscription service that has a period associated with it, not a number of uses. It sounds like you are not using it enough to benefit from the subscription. I believe that is covered by the ExportPDF forum.

  • I keep getting error message when trying to convert a pdf to a word doc

  • Adobe reader has just stopped allowing me to convert a pdf into a word doc.

I have been converting PDF documents today and just randomly, it stopped allowing me to do that. When I click the convert button, it pops up with a message saying, "An error has occurred while trying to access the service." I really need this function ASAP. What can I do to fix this??

    Hi rolandl,
This error has been popping up in Reader, and Adobe engineers are investigating the root cause. Please try signing out, and then signing back in. And if that does't do the trick, you should be able to sign in without issue directly to the ExportPDF website.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Using Adobe ExportPDF to try and convert a 73 page pdf to a word doc and it just keeps on spinning.

It has been over an hour now and I have a lightning fast Comcast cable connection.  The document was scanned into an OCR PDF file and it is 73 pages.

You may want to try the ExportPDF forum.

  • Converting a PDF to a Word document that maintains formatting

I am trying to convert a PDF to a Word .doc and it when I select the Export to Word Document option, the formatting goes crazy.  Is there a way to maintain the formatting from the .pdf  to .doc?

Not really in Acrobat no. If the original document used proper tagging you'd have a better shot at it but those are rare.
There are PDF to Word converters that do a better job available. Try Google and you'll get many options (can't vouch for any personally).
