I am currently linked to my father's Apple ID how do i completely get his account off of my phone and my mac?

I have had my Iphone 5 for several months and just recently got my mac. I have been linked to my father's Apple ID for several years on another Iphone. I'm getting to the age where i need to have my own account, so when i created a new one, nothing changed... it says i am on my new account, but everything i had before is still there... I'm not quite sure what to do...

On your Mac and Your iPhone... You need to Sign Out of your iTunes account and Sign in using your Preferred Apple ID.
However...
Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID
See...
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • How do I change my iCloud account info so my husband and I can link calendars?

How do I get my iTouch to link calendars with my husband's iPhone?  My iCloud account info automatically lists my Apple ID, but his phone lists his Apple ID from work.  Do they need to be the same, and if so, how do we do that when the field is greyed out and unchangeable?

Thee if the gray indicates that there a Restriction set that prevent changing accounts. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions.

    unfortunately - no
if the device is on ios 7.1 or above there's two things.
    1) the device may be restored to factory settings - but the phone can't be activated. imei unlock is different to Iphone activatio. - your friend unlocked it to use any sim in any country. iOS 7 forces you to restore the phone and reimpit the original icloud login. This can only be solved if you a)forgot the login/changed  it, and can prove to apple youre the owner; b) to get the original owner to deauthorize his account associated with the phone, on his/her computer.
2)if there's also a Passcode lock on the phone, and the last registered sim doesn't work (in the case of a stolen phone) - then it's impossible for you to do anything, full security = restore will lead to activation lock immediately. There's no bypass to it, the fake videos online only allow a bypass if the device was a 'jailbrokem' one - which would invalidate apple trying/ever wanting to help you.
if you know who the phone belonged to previously (usually comes up with the icloud username on it) then you can ask them to deactivate it.
otherwise, you have what we call - a brickb- won't even work as a super iPod touch
my iphone was stolen on sat in prague - white, 32 gb iphone 5 - if it's mine, I'll have it back please   just incase

Hi, we have three iPhones and iPods which are currently linked to one apple ID.  I have now set up an apple id for each phone/iPod.  How do I go about re-directing the two accounts to the relevant one that has now been set up please?  I could do with a step by step guide to follow as am worried about loosing aps, music, photo's etc which are on the individual phones.
    Thanks
    Mandi

On each of the phones you're gonna use a new Apple ID for iCloud: turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.

  • My father has itunes account for ipad and my mother for an iphone my father has taken over iphone and needs to link it to his account

my father has itunes account for ipad and my mother for an iphone my father has taken over iphone and needs to link it to his account

iTunes will need to be set up on your computer however you can set up a new Apple ID to use for your iPhone. Really all you need to do is Assign a new Apple ID to your iCloud account.
Follow the link to create a new Apple ID: https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
After you do that, on the device you want to assign a new iCloud account go: Settings > iCloud > Delete Account and then sign in with the new Apple ID.
NOTE: This does not effect iTunes, all of your devices can continue to use one shared iTunes account under your original Apple ID for downloading apps and backups. This simply gives iCloud a place to sync the individual devices information and will stop iCloud form merging all the information, such as contacts, with all of your devices.

Are you the original owner of this phone? If so sign in with the Apple ID and password you used when you first set it up.
Or did you buy is phone used? Contact the person you bought it from and have him/her correct the problem or refund your money.
You have encountered activation Lock that prevents stolen or lost phones from being activated. As stated the only way around this problem is to have the original owner clear the phone for your use.

  • HT201441 my friend found this ipod touch 5g and its in find my ipod mode it say the ipod is currently linked up to other apple id so i want to find the owner or learn how to take that off

The Apple ID is an email address. Simply email the person at that email address.
If not successful, turn the iPod in to the police.

Unfortunately, unless you know the Apple ID, there is absolutely nothing that can be done, you cannot use or even sell your mobile device.
    You might try...
Look up your old and forgotten Apple ID

Use that iD to sign and use the iPod.
You can go to Settings>iTunes and App stores and change the ID for purchases. The ID is also used in Settings>FaceTime, Setting>iCloud, Settings>Messages>Send abd receive and Settings>Game Center and can ne changed in those locations.

  • How to activate ipad 2 forgotten apple id currently link

how to activate ipad 2 forgotten apple id currently link?

There is no way around Activation Lock, a security feature designed to prevent activating lost or stolen iDevices. If you don't  remember your own Apple ID, you will need to recover your Apple ID password, you can recover it here.

    Hello,
I had an iPhone 5 apparently the iPhone was linked to my Apple ID through "Find my iPhone".
A few days ago my friend upgraded to iOS7.04 and when the phone booted we see on the screen the following message:
"This iPhone is currently linked to an Apple ID (s*****@icloud.com).
    Activate iphone
this iphone is currently linked to an apple id
Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPhone"
Unfortunately this is a very old account which I don't use anymore and don't know the password for that account, but when I signed in to
http://www.icloud.com/find with my new Apple ID. I saw the iphone 5 white 16GB under that accout and followed the manual to remove it so it
won't be linked to my account.
I have been waiting and also tried to restore the iPhone, still it asks for the old Apple ID...
What I can do to remove it and restore the iPhone?
    Thank you in advanced.

so sign in with it, if you dont know it contact the owner
    Peace, Clyde

i bought an iphone4s on a pawnshop but it wont let me use it it says This phone is currently linked to an apple id sign in with the apple

If it has iOS 7 installed Activation lock will prevent using until it is unlocked by the Apple ID of the previous user
or that ID is removed by the previous owner from the iPhone

my phone is locked and show (this iphone is currently linked to an apple ID sign in with the appleID that was used to set up this iPhone.
i put my Apple ID and password but dosnt work what shoul i do help please

Find My iPhone Activation Lock- Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
You will have to find the person whose Apple ID is currently tied to the phone. Only they can remove the activation lock. If you are unable to find them or they won't remove the lock, then your phone is useless. Take it back to the vendor and get your money back if you can.

  • Fix this problem please fix this iphone is currently linked to an apple id need to know the way to fix it

    Hello ,
Need to know the best way to fix this problem this iphone is currently linked to an apple id need to know the way to fix it
    Best Regards

The ONLY fix is to know the Apple ID/Password that was originally used to activate the phone. If you don't know this info, then the phone will be useless to you. Apple can't/won't help you.
    There is no other fix.
