I am denied permission to download videos

I'm having difficulty downloading videos from 1 website . When I attempt to save the video I get a message "you do not have permission to access the requested resource". I have used the proper password for the website and am able to watch the video online. I can easily download videos from other websites. I have not changed any settings on my iMac. I tried repairing permissions with disk utility but that did not help.

You need to contact the website owner.

  • ITunes v7.3.1 freezes, crashes to blue screen when downloading video pcasts

iTunes 7.3.1 in Windows Vista is uploading audio only podcasts fine, but is choking on all video podcasts.
The software freezes up when it tries to file away the completely downloaded video podcast, then crashes to the Blue Screen of Death and memory dump.
    The error message is:
    KERNALDATA_INPAGEERROR
    STOP OxOOOOOO7A (OxC0600140, 0xC000000E, 0x14F9A834, OxC00283F8)
Can anyone help me out here? Someone suggested that I look into deactivating Vista's user permission system, but that's already turned off.
    I'm so confused. Help!

    KERNALDATA_INPAGEERROR
Hmmmm. is your download location for those podcast files a SATA drive or a RAID array?
If it's a RAID, what RAID controller are you using? an Intel Matrix Storage Manager, or something else?

  • Server Software - No more Deny Permission Feature!!??

So unfortunately the new Server software for Mountain Lion no longer offers the "Deny" permission option. I'm currently using my Mac tower to host specific folders and sharing them via FTP. You used to be able to "Deny" others from seeing folders you didn't want them to see. Now when people log in via FTP, they can see all the other folders that are currently in my share point. Granted I haven't given them read and write permissions to the other folders so all they can do is "see" them, and can't actually open and access them.
Has anyone found a workaround for this? Apple care said I can do a "chmod" function in Terminal but I'm not really code savvy and don't feel like going this route if I don't have to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Rick,
Well, there is one way to get your hands on the "delta" installer packages. Normally, the packages are downloaded, installed, then deleted. However, you can select "Download updates automatically" in the Software Updates preferences. With this option selected, updates will be downloaded in the background whenever new updates are available. When the download is complete, you will be prompted to install them.
Instead of installing right away, you can then find the packages and copy them to some other location.
A better solution might be to download updates manually. They can be found here.

  • I can't download videos to realplayer; they always read "unable to download"

Whenever I try to download a video from youtube, the downloader always reads "unable to download." Does Firefox depend on internet explorer, because my internet explorer hasn't been working the past couple days. I hope that downloading videos doesn't depend on internet explorer.
Please help, youtube is the only place I can download music!

What likely happened is the site initially allowed you to download the file from their servers, but switched to sending you the torrent file which you have to use Transmission to set up a Peer to Peer file sharing and download a little piece from many people, which in turn you run the software for awhile and it uploads to many other people.
So the little kb file is a location file to start the torrent, open it in Transmission.
There is a problem with this, a lot of P2P content is copy righted and not allowed to be transmitted in this fashion, if your transmitting or receiving copyrighted content without permission of the copyright owner, you can be sued, your ISP may even block your access to the Internet or throttle your access as being a "excessive user".
There is nothing wrong with P2P file sharing, a lot of good legal content is shared this way as it takes a huge bandwidth expense to host and allow millions of people to download.
Trouble is a lot of malware, illegal files, copyrighted content and so forth can be shared this way.
Some of these "sites" that allow free TV downloads may have been doing it without permission of the copyright owner and were caught, so they instead switched to just providing directions to the torrents instead as they are harder to catch being in so many different countries with different rules, laws and enforcement.
If you respect all the hard work that goes into making a 1 hour TV show (about a 60-80 hour week depending upon the weather) then you should at least rent or watch the TV show with commercials to help pay for it's expanse and for more shows to be generated.
There is Netflix, which only costs $8 a month for unlimited streaming to your computer or Xbox, PS3, Roku to your HDTV, it's the best deal around and they got tens of thousands of TV shows etc.
Support the system and it will support you with new content.

  • Can I use the new Apple Thunderbolt  to Firewire adapter to download video from a video camera by firewire to my Macbook Air ?

Can I use the new Apple Thunderbolt  to Firewire adapter to download video from a video camera by firewire to my Macbook Air ?

Yes, you can use the 85 watt adaptor. You cannot use the new adaptors because your computer is not equipped with the proper MagSafe connector. But you can use the older MBP adaptors as well as a 60 watt replacement adaptor. All can be found at Apple's Online Store.

how can I get my IPad to download videos that run on flash

    You don't.
Adobe does not make a flash player for ipad.
Do a forum search as this is discussed over and over and over and over and over again on these forums.

Whatever you read about iTunes is wrong unless you're actually referring to feature movies, not videos. Videos, apps, music and iBooks you can re-download:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Download to your computer and then sync to your iPod touch whatever will fit.
And no, I can't say with certainty that they won't give you a refund, but it's unlikely. The most probable outcome, if you do indeed mean movies, not TV shows or other videos, is that they would set up an additional download. For other content they'll probably just direct you to the same instructions on re-downloading I just posted.

  • Can no longer download videos from my digital camera to iPhoto.

OK people, please help me! I've been a Mac user for a couple of years now but still have no idea how to use it properly!! (having been a PC user all my life). Today I changed the quality on my digital camera (Panasonic Lumix TZ7) to be the lowest quality so I could fit more on my SD card, not feeling the need to read the instructions first. When I came to download to iPhoto, it wouldn't. So resorting to reading my camera instruction book, I needed to download some software that came with the camera which I did. But when I still couldn't download the videos using this software, I read the instruction book more thoroughly and discovered that the software I needed (PhotofunStudio) wasn't compatible with a Mac (PC only) and the software I had downloaded (Arcsoft Panorama maker and Arcsoft MediaImpression) obviously wasn't what I needed. When neither of these would download the video, I deleted the software from my iMac but when I opened iPhoto, it gave me some error messages about files not able to be read (or something similar, I can't quite remember) and a list of file names to which I clicked OK not even thinking about it. What that did was delete all videos from iPhoto I had downloaded from this camera! And now I can't download any videos from my camera to iPhoto!!! The only thing I can think is that it has changed the default download/view to be Arcsoft (even though I've deleted all the files - I think!!) So please, how do I get iPhoto to again download my videos? Sorry for the long winded post but because I am a hopeless Mac user, thought I would give as much info as possible!
I'm computer literate with PC but definitely not Mac - it scares me as I don't know what I am doing plus it is my OWN machine so don't want to stuff it up (which is exactly what I seem to have done!). I had no trouble previously downloading videos on the higher quality setting to iPhoto. Please can someone help?!

OK thanks I will try that. I just don't understand why I still can't download new videos as I've deleted the software I installed and I've changed my camera settings back to what they were before when I could download into iPhoto. I perhaps should have mentioned it's iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5. Is there any way of putting iPhoto back as the "default download and view" programme?
It could be as simple as longer (larger) videos - iPhoto does not always handle larger video files well
Is there any way of putting iPhoto back as the "default download and view" programme?
iPhoto is not a download and view program - it is a photo management database program that imports photos - Image Capture is a download program - Preview is a view program
The default program to download your photos is set in the preference panel of either iPhoto or image capture

  • Downloading videos from IPHOTO to IPAD

How do I download videos from IPHOTO that I took with my camera to my IPAD? I'm not having any issues with photos just the videos. They show up in IPHOTO. Thanks for your help
    Doug

To import the videos have to be in a format supported by the iPad. In iTunes under the Advanced menu at the time there is an item for creating iPad and Apple TV version of videos. That works for some but not a formats. Also, just be aware that the extension on the file like mp4 is not definitive enough to tell if a video format is supported by the iPad. Thee ae many variations in .mp4 format and the iPad does not support all of them.

  • My RealPlayer is not downloading videos anymore on Firefox 28. My Realplayer plug in is no longer seen in my extensions section either. How can I fix this ?

My RealPlayer download feature (the button that appears on top of a video to allow a download) was working fine until a few days ago, when I installed the latest Flash player update (12 something). Now, my Real Player does not work, at all. In fact, when I looked for the Real Player plug in in my 'Extensions' folder, it was not there (though it is listed in my 'Plug In' section). How can I get my Real Player download to work again, as well as have it return to my 'Extensions' section ?
    Thanks,
    Gary

Thank you for your question, and apologies for the delay. I have found some more information that may help answer your question. Below is the current knowledge base article that has what we know about the RealPlayer extension and add on:

  • Hi! With version 36 I can no longer download videos; I can watch them, but download does not work. I use Win 8.1 and download helper. I returned to 35.1

    Hello Community of Users
I actually want help from the experts; and with my question everything is said. As I wrote: I returned to version 35.01 (US - before I had a German version - both worked or work) for the time being; with 36.0 almost everything is fine except that I cannot download videos any more.
The " educated guesses" seem to be correct except for the Shockwave; at least I couldn´t find it in the list.
Oh, I forgot: I got a message from my firewall when I had downloaded version 36, stating that it had blocked some features of this app, then listing those features, but giving the possibility to grant access to them ("Zugriff zulassen") on which I clicked. - See uploaded screenshot.
Any idea where the problem could be?

    Hi edmeister
thanks for dealing with my Problem. I´m using the latest Version of downloadhelper; I mentioned that I downloaded the US-Version of 35.01, but the screenshot came from my German Windows 8.1.
I just downloaded 36 again & separately, got the same warning from Windows, clicked again on "grant Access" (Zugriff zulassen), tried out parallel 35.01 - Video download o.k. and 36 - Video download did not function. So I did not get further. The Firewall lets me - so it seems - download with one Version of Firefox and without any changes executed does not let me download with the new one.

  • How do I download video from a camcorder to an imac?

I have a Canon Elura 65 camcorder that takes digital video and an imac OS X 10.6.7, and I want to download video that I've taken into imovie (not HD). However, I've connected the camcorder to the imac via usb cord, and the imac didn't register the camcorder. Then, I took out the memory card from the camcorder and inserted it into the imac slot; this one did register, but when I went into the card, it didn't have any of my video, only transitions and such, and one random video clip that I don't recognize. i really want portable versions of these videos; what now?

You could try Image Capture to find your device without removing the card:
With Image Capture you can set the default app to download; select the destination; choose to delete after import; import some or all and so on.
