I am downloading Firefox but it does not engage. i had a prior version which worked fine but the new version is not even showing a home page.

I downloaded Firefox but it will not start. It has not opened. I do not get a home page from Firefox. I do have an icon from a prior version of Firefox but when I click it, the system takes me to MSN.com home page.

Sounds like there might be an issue with an application that might be causing these issues. The reason I say that is, when the phone is in Safe Mode you are able to access the Settings screens with no issues. While in Safe Mode that does block all 3rd party applications from running on the phone. I would suggest on trying to back up the device and perform a factory reset: http://spr.ly/6-182Vuo (you would want to make sure to uncheck Automatic Restore in step 3). Once the reset is complete try to see if you can get into Settings. Then, I would recommend on adding 3rd party applications back on to the device one by one to see if we can find what app might be causing this issue. Update your iOS.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
There will be no audio output in safe mode. The question to be answered by the test is whether any devices are listed in the Sound preference pane. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

It's a third-party application, ask Infragistics support board. Maybe they have a fix or a dev version to fix your issue.

Passwords cannot be saved in version 22. worked fine before the upgrade. I am NOT in the "Private Viewing" setting. It just will NOT save passwords.

The "dropdown for "Save passwords is NOT grayed out. Clicking the "save password box does NOTHING. I am running Windows XP SP3. The previous version (21) worked fine. Version 223 does not allow for passwords to be saved. I am NOT in the Private viewing mode. The ""Remember Passwords for sites" box under Tools/ Options/ Security is checked. "remember History" shows on Tools/ Options/ Privacy. As I said: Save passwords is no longer working with version 22. It worked on version 21. No settings were made with this upgrade. I am on another computer that does NOT have version 22 on it. I refuse to upgrade this computer.

But I preformed a remodel and before the printer was connected to a windows desktop, and now it is not. I don't know if this could the be the cause of the problem. But I tried to print something and it showed me the printer as offline, but it wasn't. Thus to try to fix this, as I have done before I deleted the printer and tried to add it again. Because you had the printer connected to Windows, the print queue on your Mac was for this connection. With you moving the printer away from the Windows computer, the print queue on the Mac will no longer work and will show offline. So for the new connection of the printer you have to create a new print queue.
Now the question is; how is the printer connected to the Mac. If it is connected by USB to the Mac then it should appear in the Default Add Printer view. If it is connected to the Mac via some other method, then could you reply with how it is connected.
If it is connected to the Mac by USB then the most likely cause for the printer not appearing in the Default Add Printer view is thenUSB printer cable. So try disconnecting it and reconnecting it or even try another USB printer cable.

Firefox 18.0.1 crashes every time I close a tab. How can I revert to the prior version which worked fine?

I upgraded to 18.0.1 on Jan 18th and now Firefox crashes every time I close a tab. I use Norton Internet Security, and had no problems prior to updating Firefox. How can I revert to the prior version of Firefox which worked well.

Why is this Norton's problem when it was caused by Firefox's upgrade???
An easier solution is to use a different browser. Norton works fine.

I have a similar problem. Prior to the 7.0.3 update my iPod touch worked properly and I could see the music folders, playlists and music lists. However, after the update it no longer works - I cannot see the playlists, the names are blank.
I do not believe your response properly answers the issue at hand. If the iPod worked properly before the update then it should work properly afterward. With the response and link above it appears it is Apple's stance that it is the radio manufacturer to make the radio work with every update. That is backwards and, in my opinion, irresponsible.
It should be Apples responsibility to make sure that the functionality of the device is the same both before and after an update. If they cannot do that then they should make it easy for the user to downgrade or uninstall the update to regain the previous functionality, at least until Apple can resolve the issue their update created.

I tentatively think I have the solution; this is for when the session id value 'thing', in about:config, referred to in other answers is already on the default/rest state.
I am assuming, I don't what to imply certainty in-case there is a value wrong in our browsers, that the problem stems from the fact that our homepage is no longer the default for Firefox.
So, go to 'Options'>'General' and delete the homepage. This will reset it to the new address, which is 'about:home'.
I hope this helps some people.
