I am editing a video using CS6.  I'm wanting to add a time lapse section of about 10 seconds or so.

When I bring the photos in, they are cropped.  For example, the photos are of a building and sky.  CS6 brings the photos in and has zoomed way in and cropped the building out to show only sky and clouds, so this is not as simple as using the zoom in/out function.  The reverse is also true.  My goal is to start the video with a time-lapse of 10 seconds but when I import the rest of the video clips, they shrink and assume the size of the photos.  How do I change the photos and leave the rest of the video clips alone?  Any help would be awesome.  I am relatively new to CS6 and Adobe so I don't know if this is something that can even be done without upgrading to other programs.

No need for any magic or upgrades. You just need to read the help or watch some tutorials. To be candid, you pretty obviously haven't done that. Would take too long to tippi-toe you through everything, so by all means do a bit of reading up. E.g. images need to be prepared and resized suitably in Photoshop or you do your zoom pan and timelapse in After Effects...

Premiere Elements 7, on what computer operating system?
In Premiere Elements 7, there are various effects for lightening a dark video. After applying one of these lighting effects, have you been editing these applied effects in Edit Effects/Properties Palette after you apply them?
    Video Effects
Adjust - Brightness and Contrast, Auto Levels....
Image Control  Panel that is a default Properties Palette panel along with Motion and Opacity....for Brightness, Contrast, Hue, and Saturation.

  • I need help using Premier Pro CS5 to create a short time-lapse video . . .

Hello I am new to Prremier Pro and need help creating a short time-lapse video. I have a Sony CyberShot TSC-70 and a Canon ZR930 to capture images and video but none do time-lapse automatically (I think). I also have Premier Elements 9 and Photoshop CS5 if needed.
I am late completely this project and need help. Suggestions urgently needed.
    Thanks,
    billy

Nice to know Elements has that function! I don't have elements, and did a one hour into 15 seconds timelapse in Premiere by importing my one hour clip into the timeline, then using the time tool within the effects panel to speed the file up by 1000% (maximum allowable in a timeline, apparently...) Then I nested that sped up sequence within a new sequence, and did it again... I think I had to do it twice, but I got a nice  15 second sunset timelapse out of a one-hour shoot by using that route.

Here are some general tips to keep your Mac's hard drive trim and slim as possible
You should never, EVER let a computer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your Mac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto or Aperture, both have its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you are an iMovie/ Final Cut user, both apps have their own individual Trash location that needs to be emptied, too!
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your other Mailboxes and other Mail categories to see If there is other mail you can archive and/or delete.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
To find other large files, download an app called Omni Disk Sweeper.
    http://www.omnigroup.com/more
    Also, Find Any File
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/downloadonyx.php
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

  • Editing flip videos in QuickTime, windows xp

I am trying to edit flip videos using Quick Time Pro, running on windows xp.
    Any suggestions?

Well I tried that option but for some reason it didn't work for me. It kept giving the tns:connection closed error. Then I searched in metalink and found this note : Note:333158.1
It suggested setting tcp.validnode_checking = no
    in sqlnet.ora. in
    F:\oracle\visdb\9.2.0\network\admin\VIS_websoft-xp
And it works. Hope this helps someone facing a similar problem. Good luck.
BTW how do I run autoconfig?

  • Best notebook for editing HD videos?

I consider to buy a MacBookPro or MacBookAir. Which one is the best choice for editing HD videos?

    You don't want a MacBook Air, a 13" or a 2.0 Ghz 15" for professional work.
You need the 2.2 Ghz 15" anti-glare, high res, MacBook Pro or better. (has the 1GB Radeon 6750M)
    The 17" is prefered because it's screen is 1920 x 1200, so 1080i (1920 x 1080 pixels) is WYSIWYG.
You need the anti-glare because your going to be using it for professional work in many environments that you can't control the glare, you need to be able to see the entire screen.
If your ordering online, get the 7,200 RPM drive. Else it's not that much difference from the 5,400 RPM store sold models. Get the 8GB of RAM installed right when you purchase and also AppleCare.
    Good luck.

  • Time-lapse video from existing series of pictures...

I am new to Premiere Elements and looking for instructions on creating a time-lapse video from a folder of still pictures taken using a GoPro camera.  So far the Help has only discussed creating time-lapse from a video feed.  great thanks for any suggestions...

    Welcome to the forum.
If you are ONLY using Still Images, and no Video, then you will want to determine your delivery, say DVD-Video, or BD, or posting to YouTube in SD, or HD. That will determine the Project Preset that you will choose.
Let's say that you will wish to deliver the Project via a BD (Blu-ray Disc). If so, then you can choose a 1920 x 1080 Project, at either 30 (29.97) FPS for NTSC, or 25 FPS for PAL.
I would Scale all of my images to 1920 x 1080 in Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements. This can be easily done with an Action for an entire folder of Images. See this ARTICLE for some tips.
As for Import, there are probably two ways to handle that, but someone will have to give you exact instructions on the second, if PrE now supports Importing Numbered Stills Sequences, like PrPro does. I believe that it now does, but use PrPro for such, that I have not explored it. The other is pretty straight forward. When I Scale my Still Images, I number them sequentially, so that file ____00001 is followed by ____00002, etc. through the last Image in the sequence.
This next part might take some experimentation, depending on the intervals, that you have set your Go-Pro to shoot, and the "look," that you want. For pure Time-Lapse, a Duration of 1 Frame is probably what you want, but if you wish a bit more of a Stop-Motion look, then you might want, say 3 - 5.Frames. For most of my work, I will go with the 3 - 5 Frames, and use very short Cross-Dissolves between each Image. After you have done the experimentation, go to Edit>Preferences and set the Still Image Duration. Then, Import the Stills, or if possible in PrE, Import the Numbered Still Sequence, which, in PrPro, will allow one to add the Cross-Dissolve automatically. Remember, also in Edit>Preferences, set the Video Transition Duration too.
Good luck, and let us know what works best for you. Also, keep an eye out, because if PrE does support Numbered Still Sequences, that will save you some time. Steve, Neale, John T., or another will verify that PrE has that capability, and where to locate it.

  • Time Lapse video

I wanted to make a time lapse video and I recorded 19 hours of video but now find I import it into adobe premiere pro but cannot edit it. Is there a way around this as I want to compress the 19 hours down to 10 minutes?

Premiere Pro is too simple to make a mistake in. well you can if do not know what you are doing. But obviously I would think that I do. not so long ago I found out that the biggest file that you can edit on premiere pro on windows is 3.? gigs which relates to how much memory windows can address.
I was wondering if there was a simimlar issue here with my macbook pro or was it a design issue with premiere?
    1 I open premiere pro
    2. I create a new project
    3 bring in my footage
    4 create a new sequence
but still cannot drag and drop my footage onto the time line. this has happened on two occasions
I still after creating a new project, canceling on creating a sequence until I import my movie and then drag it to the new button to create sequence, I am unable to then drag it to the time line

  • Problem to create a time-lapse video

    Hello all,
I'm encountering a problem with my CS5.1 , let me explain . I want to create a time-lapse video from many pictures i've taken,  But when i go to File------Automate------Batch , then I'm supposed to find in Actions something called "Time-Lapse processing " or something like this, but it's not there !!
Can you help me in how i can get this work, please ? much appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.
It appears that you are looking to process your Still Images in Photoshop, with an Action, and then via Automate to Batch. Is that correct?
Premiere Pro does not use Actions, and has no Automate>Batch.
However, if one is doing Time-Lapse Video, PrPro can do that nicely.
First, will you have any Video, or only Still Images?
If ONLY Still Images, then you must address your intended delivery, say DVD-Video, or BD, or streaming media. That will determine your Project/Sequence Preset.
Let's say that you intend to create a BD (Blu-ray Disc), in full-HD, then you can choose a 1920 x 1080 Project, at a FPS for where you are, such as NTSC = 29.97 FPS.
After you have perhaps Scaled your Still Images in Photoshop, and named them in sequence, such as ____00001 through ____0000x, all in one folder, you can then Import that Numbered Still Sequence into PrPro, and even add a Transition, if needed.
For most true Time-Lapse, one would choose a Duration of 1 Frame, but for a bit of a Stop-Motion "look," then 3 - 5 Frame Duration might be better. You can always experiment with a few of your Images, to see what suits your tastes and desires. For most of what I do, the Stop-Motion look is my choice, and I will usually choose a Duration of 3 Frames, with a tiny Cross-Dissolve between those Frames. This is your artistic choice. There is no right, or wrong choice.
Hope that helps, and for the Photoshop aspect, you might want to post the question here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/general
    Good luck,

  • Having sound delay by about 5 seconds when I start any video stream, know how to fix?

From any app or mail, when I click for a video to start, it will start immediately, the sound will not start until about 5 seconds later, very annoying.  Does anyone know the fix for this?

Listen to this person, he knows exactly what he's talking about. My unit had the freezing problem, the visual artifact problem, and eventually would only show a blank white screen after I had tinkered too long. Luckily I have another computer that I hadn't yet upgraded to itunes 7 and it had the last firmware upgrade before the itunes 7 one. From disk mode I was able to restore it to the previous firmware version, and now the ipod works perfectly.
I too am almost disqusted with Apple for 1) missing this problem and 2) not letting people know!
I wonder how many more people are going to have lots of problems so apple can protect their PR.
Anyways, what would be really helpful would be if someone could upgrade the latest firmware installer before itunes 7 (it's an individual ipod updating program, not itunes 6.xx)somewhere on the internet so users could download it and do away with this evil 1.2 firmware.

  • Make a simple "cut" edit in a singular video in CS6 (one video file as opposed to multiple clips).

I want to be able to do simple editing in CS6. I just spent three hours watching tutorial videos and reading help articles and this forum. I have never used an Adobe video editing program before. I normally use Windows Movie Maker, but it's too simple for my current needs. (Eventually I will learn effects.)
My problem is that the tutorial videos show examples where there is more than one "clip" being placed on the timeline. That seems to pre-set editing points. I only need to import one longer video file and then cut out frames that I no longer want in the video.
I have figured out how to set start and end points on the clip, as in at the actual beginning and actual end. But following every single method described (JKL, etc), I still cannot seem to edit frames out of the middle of my videos. I assume this is because I'm missing some very simple method for setting edit points. This is what I need to know.
I am an extreme novice with this program though I'm somewhat computer savvy. So please no jargon. I know nothing of this program. I did all I could to find my own answers before asking here, but if this is answered somewhere else, please direct me there. Thanks.

I'm in a similar boat -- editing family video recorded on Hi8 and captured into DV with a Canopus ADVC-300. I typically have a 2 hour clip in the timeline.  I'm separating these into clips with the razor tool, but sometimes I want to remove a garbled few seconds from within a clip.
Today I discovered something nifty: in Keyboard options, there are two items that don't have a key assigned:
Application->Ripple Delete->Ripple Trim Next Edit to Playhead
Application->Ripple Delete->Ripple Trim Previous Edit to Playhead
I assigned these to the Shift+] and Shift+[ keys.   Premiere didn't warn me about these keys being assigned already, so I guess it's ok.  At first, I used '}' and '{' but I'm afraid that it is too easy to accidently hit them.
When I play back in the timeline, at the start of the garbled area I want to remove, I hit Ctrl+K to add an edit point (the "out point", I suppose). Then I continue playing.   When I reach where I want the video to resume, I just press Shift+[ and Premiere ripple-deletes to the edit point.
This does leave me with an edit point, though.  I have yet to figure out how to splice the two clips together again.
I'm sure the pros won't like this, but I find it makes things easier.
