I am finding FCPX has trouble with mixed audio sample rates

I am just putting this thread out there to ask if anyone has experienced issues with mixed sample rates in the timeline? Specifically I have noticed that a timelilne with an audio rate of 48KHz with have troubles with a song at 44.1KHz - this is irrespective of what sort of video codec I am using. It happens to me a lot lot with stills actually.
If I preconvert to 48KHz, I do not have the same issue. Just asking if this has been discussed or mentioned elsewhere so I can figure out if it is just me.

You might want to duplicate the capture preset for DV/NTSC 48k and change the audio to 32k.
Then try that.
But I'd also change the JVC's audio settings to record in 48 while you're waiting. Should be able to do it... cheap or not.

You don't have to do anything special. If possible, start your project with a clip that has the desired target frame rate and audio sample rate, and your project parameters will be set automatically. Other sample rates will be converted under the covers.
For example, if your video is shot at 48khz, you can add music files at 44.1khz with no problem.
If you are recording audio that you want to synch with video (multicam), you will get best results if everything is 48khz, but you can use 44.1 if that is all you have. Once I forgot to reset my Zoom to 48,000 and it still worked.

Mixing audio sample rates

I'm making a sport video, and I'm using DV tapes from another parent. He has a different audio rate setting on his tapes. When I capture them, I get this warning message about sample rates setting. When I view the tape it seems fine.
Is there a work around this issue when using other people's tapes?

When capturing media, it's important that your capture settings match the origonal media parameters ie- if the footage/audio is at 32Khz, for example, then you should capture at 32Khz... otherwise you run the risk of video/audio sync loss.
If you have 1 tape which was recorded at 32Khz, then another at 48Khz, you should change the capture settings for each tape accordingly.
Once the media has been captured and is in your browser, you set up the timeline to the setting you desire.
So... you can have a browser bin with media of both 32 and 48Khz.... then a sequence/timeline of (for example)- 48Khz. When you place the 32Khz media on a 48Khz timeline you just have to do an audio render (sequence>render all/render only> ITEM LEVEL), then you will be ok.
You say that the footage seems fine, but the more you work with it, you will probably experience sync issues... you might not notice them at the top of the timeline, but further down, things will slip.
So... you can mix clips with different audio rates on one timeline, and just audio render to get it stable. The MOST IMPORTANT thing to do is ensure your audio rate capture settings match the audio rate on the origonal tape.

Problem with audio sample rate when exporting

I am having an issue with my audio sample rate. For some reason it is set at 8 khz by defualt when I am exporting. This was not an issue until the latest update (2 weeks ago). I'll try and give all the info I can up front. Also I tried customer support...that was a nightmare.
Ok the issue I am addressing is that the audio sample rate when exporting is at 8khz by default. Which to my knowledge has NO relevant use what so ever. Even when I set the file format to h.264 it insists on resetting to 8khz. Even if I manually set everything look at the render queue and click on output module again it changes the sample rate back to 8 khz automatically which I must adjust again. Why can it not just be set at 48000 like every other adobe product is and like it used to be two weeks ago. Does anybody have an answer?

WWith the new ios7, I became frustrated in using my iPad3..I'm using Skype as my main communications with my love ones back home,now it seems that ios7 doesn't help me a lot for I'm having trouble with my audio communication coz my family can't hear anything from me.. You can try removing app then reinstalling. If that doesn't work
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.

The sampling rate is set by the Sony DVMCDA2 you are using, when the conversion is made from the analog input to the digital (DV) output. You should be outputting standard DV which is 16bit 48khz audio.
Assuming you are in the US, your Easy Setup for FCP should be DV-NTSC, and then open the Log and Capture Pane and set the Capture Settings Device Control to Non-Controlable Device and you should be good to go.
You will have to roll the deck manually and start and end your capture manually.

Error Msg.: "Inconsistent Audio Sample Rate" with Flip4Mac

If you're using Flip4Mac to produce WMV files, the latest QT updates will create a conflict with Flip4Mac, which produces the error msg. referenced in the subj. heading above.
If you're using Flip4Mac, you may want to wait until Telestream resolves the issue before upgrading QT.

The recent release of QuickTime 7.2 created an audio compression error for Flip4Mac WMV Studio, Studio Pro and Studio Pro HD customers. Specifically, when encoding WMV files with Flip4Mac WMV v.2.1.2 using uncompressed audio sources on QuickTime 7.2 systems, customers were receiving "Inconsistent Audio Sample Rate" error and the encode will fail. This problem has been resolved with the beta release of Flip4Mac WMV v2.1.33. If you are using QuickTime 7.2, please upgrade to this release at http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_beta.htm

Is it possible to detect low frequency signals with a high sampling rate?

I'm having an issue detecting low frequency signals with a high sampling rate. Shouldn't I be able to detect the frequencies as long as the sampling rate is at least 2 times the highest frequency I will measure? The frequency range I am measuring is 5-25 Hz, and I use Extract Single Tone.vi to measure the frequency. The sampling setting I am using is 2 samples at 10 kHz. Is there a method I can use to make this work?

You are sampling at 10Ks/S, but only taking two samples. What do you expect to see? If your signals are binary (On or Off) you would only see either an on or an off, or if the rise/fall time was fast and you were Extremely lucky, one of each. If you want to see a waveform you have to sample for at least the period of a waveform. So you should take samples for at least 0.2 seconds to capture an entire waveform at 5Hz, ideally longer. Think of looking at a tide change at a dock. If you want to see the entire tide change you will probably have to measure repeatedly over 24 hours, not just run out on the dock, measure the height twice and leave. That wouldn't tell you anything other than at that precise moment the tide height was X, but not that it was at high tide, low tide, in between, etc.
I type too slowly, I see that a more technical answer has been given, so mine will be the philosophical one!

Problems with audio sample rate when capturing DV50

Hello from Spain, I have a problem when capturing DV50 source footage: I setup my sequence settings and capturing settings like always, DV50 codec and 48k sample rate for audio, then when the capturing process finish the result is a file that contains audio to a non-48k audio sample rate, then video and audio don´t match. The sample rate is 47945 and other similars, not always the same, sometimes 47214 sometimes 48000, and there is no rules...My capturing device works ok in other computers and the footage has been capture ok in other Mac...I don´t know what happens.

Yes, the camera is the same, the problem is on my computer, I have discovered a solution: first I capture the audio, only the audio, and then the video, only the video. After this I soncronize the two separate files on Final Cut timeline. It´s a slow process, but I am really desesperated. I don´t know what happens, I few minutes ago I have captured a 30 mins. video and the sample rate of the audio was 42.145k (???). It´s a crazy thing...

Mountin Lion has trouble with external monitors

Not so much a question as a shout-out. Since going to Mountain Lion, my pretty new (February this year) MacBook has been having no end of trouble with external monitors. I use it a lot with the clamshell closed with two different external monitors of two different sizes, one at home, one at work. It sometimes thinks the one is the other, or if I unplug the monitor in sleep, when I later open the clamshell, the screen stays black and I have to force a reboot with the power button. Never had these problems with exactly the same set-up in Lion. Sometimes it also refuses to find a connected monitor or projector, I have to pull the dangle and put it in again.

If memory serves, one of the 'flaws' with BM's hardware is that it will not convert on-the-fly. So if your sequence doesn't match what the TV is accepting, you get black.
For example, my TV will not accept 1080p, only 1080i, so working in a 1080p sequence would produce no image for me as the BM will only output exactly what's in the sequence, it can't convert my 1080p/24 sequence into 1080i/30 for output.
Now I'd expect your TV would have no trouble accepting a 720p signal but, maybe the above data will lead you down a path of investigation.

4s has trouble with my home network

My iPhone 4S has trouble connecting to my AirPort Extreme. The only way it connects is if I lay it directly on the extreme.

Power the extreme off and wait a few minutes, the Power ON again.
On the 4S reset networking settings. You will have to re-enter your network's password, but it should be able to connect.

Trouble with native audio player

Hi! recently I´ve been trouble with native audioplayer on my Ipod Touch 4 (64GB). When i chose the audio player from main menu screen, it changes to a blank screen (it seems as it is reading or something) but application does no starts and backs to main screen. I tried to reset de iPod many times as user guide recommends, but nothing happens: audio player does not work
I purchased some audio players from appstore; first I tought that apps were the problem, so I uninstall them, but the problem stills; 2 hours ago I restart only "settings" on Settings / General / Restart (in spanish "Ajustes / General / Restablecer") and it seems to work but I'm not confortable with that.
Is ther any I'm doing wrong? maybe I reached memory for Playlist,...

hai i have the same problem
but if i understand it right the problem is
windows 8 / 8.1 /10 the have flash but it getting crippeld by some thing (anthore program i believe it was explorere 9 if i recall correct)
didn't pay to good attention .
what we all three have to do is go to explorer and look up the previouse flash( so the wone we didn't install but was already on the os .
then you have to delete this .as well the wone you tried to install after you found out.
then it's possible to install the new one .
my os is win10 but has the same problem the solution is as found after some hours reading
i hope i didn't read for nothing.
