I am flustered that I cannot reply to Roger Willmut

The Apple Support Community site should return to what it used to be 10 years ago.
Then, poor folks like me, needing help, could contact the professionals directly, but more importantly could express their gratitude for being helped or tought new skills.  I am unable to reply to Roger Willmut or Peggy for their helpful advices.
I consider this as a major step back.
Please send my thanks to Roger Willmut and Peggy.

Professor Doctor,
Our two friends answers are well crafted, so I think you get their messages. Let me expand on one your comments and suggest some things about the other.
[1] The Apple Support Communities has adopted a  strategy (in widespread use by many Enterprise level communities) for encouraging interaction in the forums called
Gamification
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not to be confused with Game theory.  Gamification is the use of game thinking and game mechanics[1] in non-game contexts to engage users in solving problems[2] and increase users' self contributions.[3][4] Gamification has been studied and applied in several domains, with some of the main purposes being to engage (improve user engagement,[5] physical exercise,[6] return on investment, flow,[7][8] data quality, timeliness), teach (in classrooms, the public or at work[9]), entertain (enjoyment,[8] fan loyalty), measure[10] (for recruiting and employee evaluation), and to improve the perceived ease of use of information systems.[8][11] A review of research on gamification shows that a majority of studies on gamification find positive effects from gamification.[12] However, individual and contextual differences exist.

[2] I can understand how a professional like yourself would be interested in being contacted freely (with the requisite "personal" safeguards, of course). Your Bio Page is an example of a kimono open wide. However, there is one error that should be corrected, in my humble opinion.
You seem to have 'intended' to publish a "WORK" email address, but somehow used the "Website" field to do so. This usually is not a 'great big deal', because as it gets published, it would simply fail. But yours is quite another matter. I will illustrate, as pictures speak a thousand words.
When one clicks the 'Website' (live) link, this is what I get... "This may be an attempt to trick you."
Upon [Yes] click, one gets...
This appears to be a Legitimate Google Page, as it recognizes me from a Google+ cookie on my computer. It does not, however, accomplish your goal = me sending you an email !!
You can fix this easily. Go to your Bio page and use these tools
to EDIT the website or remove it, choose to show your  email (I personally would not do this as this email is half of your AppleID login credentials) - or best would be to "trick" the SiteWare and simply put your "WORK" email address in the company field

I can open my hotmail email but cannot reply or send new messages. this just started last week. Don't know why not. Is this a Firefox issue or a Microsoft issue? 'Cause it's near impossible to get Microsoft to get back to me. Hope you can help me.

I resolved both my problems.  The problems with Walgreens is that my own Frontier internet connection is very slow and will allow only minimal  downloads.  When I used a Verizon Hot Spot to download pictures they downloaded without any problem.  So I am working iwth Frontier to resolve my slow internet speed.  The problem with pictures be syncronized to a gallery was resolved by using the Help column and the pictures were easily deleted by following their instructions.

Restart your iPhone. If that's not work repeat the Reset (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.)

  • Cannot Reply to Email

I have a user with an iPhone who cannot reply to messages from her company account. She can send messages fine, but when she replies to anyone from her work address, she gets the message: "Cannot Send Mail. A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient *****@company.com was rejected by the server because the server does not allow relaying." It only happens when she replies. She can send new messages without a problem. And it's only people from the same mail domain. She can go into the account settings, outbound server, and turn it off as the primary server and turn it back on and the message will have sent. She also has a gmail account set up on the phone.
She is the only with the issue so I don't think it's anything to do with the server.

I forgot to mention that I verified her settings were correct and had her type password in to confirm it was correct.

  • HELP! cannot reply to email

For some reason i cannot reply to e-mails. If i click reply, it brings up the e-mail i'm replying to, however, there is no send button. It just starts with the recipient box. It's like there's no header with the send - attach - address book - etc... buttons. It appears to be the same thing if i try to reply all.
I can create a new message, and the buttons are there. Just reply and reply all seem to be missing the send buttons.

In firefox in the url bar, type in about:config click to confirm that you'll "be careful." In the bar that says "filter" type dom and press enter.
Look for dom.storage and it probably says false. Right click and click "toggle" to change it to true. This should fix the problem.

    Hi,
I have two email accounts set up on my BlackBerry. A gmail account and a college email account. Since my college email account is forwarded to my Gmail, I activated the option on my BlackBerry that says "If no filters apply, don't forward to device" but didn't add any filters. This way, I don't get email duplicates on my BlackBerry but I can still send emails through my college account from my BlackBerry.
I tested this and it worked, however, when someone replies to an email sent from my college email account (which I receive on my BlackBerry through the Gmail account) it will only let me reply using the Gmail account. I cannot reply using the second email account.
    Any help?

Hi Domino, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I'm only quarter Irish, so may not be all that much help!
What kind of account is it on both ends... POP, IMAP, WebMail?
Have you checked it with the Webmail?

  • Sent list displays only few recipients even when sent to many. So I cannot "reply to all" on my iPad or iPhone both of them IOS5

When receiving mails on the iPhone or iPad, the recipient list appears to be only 4-5 people altough i am sure that the list contains many people. Really frustrating, I cannot reply to all of the recipients; only some random few which my iPad chose! Those recipients are not necessarily from my address book. On the Macbookpro, there is no such problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

Tapping on details only opens the to and cc lines. The problem is that those lines include only some of the many recipients.
I send a test mail to 20 people, one of them being my second mail adress call it B. When i receive this mail from my IMAP mail B on iPad, only 3-4 of those 20 appear on the "to" list. So as B, i cannot send my reply to those 20.

  • Can receive, send new and forward but cannot reply or reply all in mail all

I'm using Tiger 10.4.11 and am suddenly experiencing a problem with Mail. I can receive emails and send new but cannot reply or reply all. When I click either the reply or reply all button, nothing happens, not even the spinning ball of death. Have tried the dropdown menu and the keyboard shortcut but same issue.
Anyone else experienced the same problem or know how to fix this please?

Ms. Gibbs, welcome to the discussion groups!
Mail accesses Address Book to make sense of addresses, etc., whether or not you have anything in Address Book. When you start Address Book, are there any problems?
Another thing to try after that, is kind of a "standard Mail fix to try": rebuild the Envelope Index.
To do this, quit Mail. Then in Finder, find ~/Library/Mail/Envelope Index and move it to Trash. (~ is your Home Directory.) Then start up Mail. It will say something about importing mail... it is just rebuilding the Envelope Index file.

  • Cannot reply to emails but can send or forward

I usually work from home but am in my office 2d a week. I just took my new mac to the office, and for whatever reason, emails I received at home, when I reply, it tries to send them via my home SMTP server (comcast) rather than the work server. I even went in on my account info under Preferences and DELETED my comcast info, so the only SMTP server showing is my office server. No dice.
I can send new email, and I can forward, but I cannot reply. It seems that there is something "hidden" in these emails that it wants to use my home SMTP server? Ideas?

    Hi,
I have more or less the same problem.
When I try to reply to an email, mail shows me a message to tell me that it can't send out the mail message via the server. This can take up 5 to 10 minutes before I know it can't be send out.
Did you find a solution for you mail problem?

  • Cannot Reply E-Mail on Comcast

    Hi,
I was using Comcast Web-Mail in Safari Beta 3 on XP and I cannot reply my E-Mail in Comcast Webmail. Anyone any ideas? I have Java, Real, Flash, and all that jazz so it should work.

I FINALLY got it to work on BOTH iPhone 4 and iPpad 3.  Here is what I had to do:
Had to DELETE all e-mail accounts including icloud.
Did a hard reset (hold down button on top right corner and round button on bottom center)
Then once it came back on, the iPhone had ALL of the accounts still on it and it was receivng e-mail.
The iPad receive e-mail until I did the steps above 5 times.  Plus, I had to add back all of the e-mail accounts vs. on the iPhone 4 they were there when my phone came on.
Now I am receiving e-mail on both devices normally.
No clue why this happened, but Apple needs to find a fix ASAP.

  • I have no SEND button when I write an e-mail. I am receiving e-mails but cannot reply

Everything was fine this morning. I received and replied to e-mails. Then all of a sudden I went to write an e-mail. Wrote the e-mail but did not have a Send button, nor the toolbar that it was on. In fact the whole layout of "Write" looked different. I am still receiving e-mails but cannot reply to them. Why?

Many thanks - I now have a Send button and used it to send a reply to you.

  • I cannot reply to emails on my iphone5 I could previously. How can I rectify this?

I cannot reply to emails on my iphone5. I could do so until a few days ago. How can I rectify this problem?

    Hello there Mahasweta,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I found this article for you when researching why you may not be able to reply or send emails.
iOS: Unable to send or receive email
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3899
    Restart the iOS device.
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.
    Try an alternative Internet connection.
If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi:  Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Cannot reply to or forward mail message

For the last three days I cannot delete/ reply/ forward or move messages in my Yahoo account once I open them. This only happens when i access the account on my macbook (safari or mozilla firefox) - the account works fine on my dell desktop so the problem is not with Yahoo. Any suggestions?
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

After opening an email message in Yahoo, when I click on the "delete/reply/forward/move" buttons at the top of the message, nothing happens - no drop down menu for inline text/attachment, etc. Normally, I just need one click to execute any of these functions. I can compose and send new messages but I cannot reply to or forward an email that I have received.

Hello, Cannot reply to my e-mails and cannot send pictures to e-mail?

It's not an SMS, but if you select Multimedia Message rather than text message when you are creating a new text to send to an email address, it will send---at least it works that way on my phone.  Good luck!
