I am getting a grid like pattern over solid colors durring a disolve

I recently upgraded to Studio. When a sequence dissolves, especially to white, I am seeing a grid like pattern. I have also noticed this pattern in shots where there is a solid color in one location for a period of time. Any ideas?

Check your view options in the canvas or viewer pulldown menu (little radio button looks like a pill in the top center-right or either window.) Sounds like you have your background set to checkerboard 1 or 2. That grid is telling you there is nothing to be seen here. Set it to black if you want it black. This won't take away the fact that there is transparency mind you, it just shows transparency as black. You can choose white, as well.

For no apparent reason my Mac (2 GHz PowerPC G5) running 10.4.11 has put a mesh-like pattern over the folders on my desktop and also a band of the same pattern across the top of the screen and down the right-hand side over the dock. (See screen grabs below.)
It doesn't affect any operations but makes folder names and drop-down menus difficult to read through the pattern.
I'm not aware of changing any settings so suspect I must have clicked on something without noticing. How do I get rid of the overlaid pattern, please?

Greetings.
I have installed a new black cartridge (CE320A) into my LaserJet CP1525n color printer.
To test it, I printed a completely black page and this is what i got:

As you can see, first of all, there are noticeable lines throughout the sheet,
but then there is also this crack/scratch-like pattern reoccuring at even distance.
Can I do anything to fix this defect in the cartridge or will I have to buy a new one?

Why do I get a grid over my image when I first open it up? I've looked in my preferences and can't find a way to have this issue stop.

Are you saying that if you turn off the Grid, it reappears the next time you open an image? That is obviously wrong, and tjhe setting is in Preferences as you surmised, so if that is what is happening, I'd try deleteing the preferences file to reset it. (Shift Alt Ctrl while you lauch Photoshop)

You messaged me that the contact sheet look is what want but w/o spaces.
One method is to actually start with the PSE contact sheet tool. I assume your version has it (mine is PSE 2). Maybe your version has an option to remove spaces; mine doesn't. In this example I created a sheet of 4 rows and 3 columns, with the option to not flatten the layers. Each picture appears on a separate layer.
On each row I moved the left and right pics inward to remove the spaces between the pics:
Activate the Move tool. Click on the left pic and use the arrow keys to move it inward. Same with the right pic.
Now to remove the spaces between the rows. To make this easier. lock together the pics on each row. Here I locked the pics on the top row, then used the arrow keys to move the row as a unit downward. An alternative method would be to merge the 3 pics on each row and move that merged layer. Do the same for the remaining rows.
This method works of course if the pictures are all the same size and all aligned vertical or horizontal.
If you don't want to use the contact sheet tool (e.g., if the pics are different sizes or alignment) you can do this:
Create a blank canvas.
Open a picture, select it (Select > All) and copy to the clipboard (Edit > Copy).
Activate the blank canvas and Edit > Paste. The picture will be placed on its own layer.
Do the same with the remaining pics and use the Move tool with mouse and/or arrow keys to position them where you want.
The advantage of the first method is that the rows and columns are precisely aligned. Using the mouse to align the pictures could be a little tricky.

Grid like arrangements in UIScrollView(PhotoScroller)

I was using apple's scrollview sample code (PhotoScroller - https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#samplecode/PhotoScroller/Introduction/I ntro.html) for my app using numerous images (and by recycling logic) in UIScrollView. I implemented that in my app and it works fine.
Now Im working in an app similar to the above, but with the difference, loading images in grid like view. When I happen to use the same sample code, every thing works fine except the recycling logic.
I think there is some problem with my frame set which don't tell the xcode, the visible region.
Please some one temme how to set the visible set for the grid View structure for scrollview? The code I use is,

If Zach's answer doesn't correct the problem, consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the consumer affairs department of your state's attorney general's office. After I got the run around for being billed for services I cancelled before they were installed and got nowhere with Comcast Customer Service, I filed complaints with the two agencies listed above. Surprisingly, I got not one, but TWO phone calls from Comcast's Executive Management something or other in Philly within 48 hours of filing the complaints. My bill was corrected within 24 hours. The last person I spoke with told me I was owed a refund after I cancelled the remaining service I had with them over the fiasco. If I don't get that refund within 30 days, I will file another complaint. The ony way Comcast is going to change their business practices is if customers continue to file legitimate complaints with the BBB and states' attorney generals' offices over their practices. Eventually, it will be so costly to pay people to answer these complaints and Comcast will decide its better for their bottom line to simply provide better customer service. File a complaint today.

How to get a note to carry over to the next measure?

I want to know how to "slide" into the one beat from the 15/16 beat of the previous measure. In other words, how can I get a note to cross over from one measure to the next?

Thanks for bearing with me.
I created a region (up in the track timeline) which spans two measures. When I pencil in a note in the grid below (in Piano Roll) near the end of measure one, I cannot extend it or drag it into measure two (even though they both reside in the same region). Even stranger, whatever note I write into the grid in measure one gets "ghost" duplicated in measure two.

If you set PSE as external editor, be sure you pick the right file, which is not by any means the logical choice. You want this one:
You can also export the photos from iphoto, edit them and save them under new names and reimport the edited photos as new files. This is more trouble, but lets you save as many different versions of your image as you like (iphoto only remembers the last edited version + original).

You may have locked the screen. Open Control Center by sliding up with one finger from below the bottom of the home screen. The orientation lock control is at the far right of the top row in Control Center (looks like a lock surrounded by a circular arrow). If it is on, the same icon will be in the menu bar. Also note that not all screens will rotate -- the home screen for example will not.

Simple, surefire fix: restore from your back up.
Anything else will require a lot more information. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

if you hid the menu bar and the navigation bar simply press the alt button, this will bring back the menu bar and form there you can right click and select which bars you want shown

It doesn't have to be that complicated, Verizon iPhones come unlocked, just tell VZ you're going on Holiday/Traveling and suspend the service, no need to pay for service if you're not going to be using it. Pick up local SIM cards in the countries of your choosing, pop them in, re-activate iMessage and you're set!
I recommend getting a SIM card from the Three network in England, they have great EU roaming rates and free like-home roaming in Italy.
Set your phone's region to match the country you're in, it'll save from some headaches when calling local/international numbers.
To answer your questions,
1. If you choose not to have a local SIM card, it is good to keep your phone in Airplane mode to save battery.
2. Make sure the two iPhones have different names to reduce sync/restore issues.
3. If husband has an iPhone also, you can chat with iMessage/Facetime, just give him heads up about the new number you'll have. Otherwise, use Whatsapp if he's got an Android. You can activate Whatsapp with your American number or the international number if you choose to get a SIM in Europe.
Also, Get the MagicJack app and/or Google Hangouts, both of those apps provide you with free calling to the USA and Canada using any internet connection. Google Voice is another good way to SMS across the seas.
