I am getting an error message if I try to sign into or authorize my iTunes account

The error message I am getting is "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later." I don't know what this means or how to fix it. It happens if I try to sync my iPod to iTunes or if I just start up iTunes and it also comes up if I try to sign into iTunes. Can anyone help me with this because I don't know what to do, thank you in advance.

I'll add what elector suggested should work but if your still having troubles you might try Doing a System Cache, followed by a power cycle.. if both suggestions fail you may have to Uninstall the app and then re-install it..  b33

I am trying to sign into the icloud on my PC since I do not have an iphone or ipad.  When I enter in my itunes info it says - "This Apple ID is valid but is not an icloud account" . Why can't I sign in using my itunes info?

Ok, back now.  Have her follow the instructions under "Share a calendar publicly" here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a9479.  (Note: the term "publicly" is a bit of a misnomer.  It won't share the calendar with the public at large, it will only give her a url link that she can share with people such as yourself who don't have an iCloud account to allow them to subscribe to her calendar with read-only access.)

  • I keep getting this error message when i try to install the latest version of itunes, the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this problem??

I am having trouble reinstalling my Itunes on my desktop which uses Windows 7 and I can download it but once it's complete i keep getting this error message...The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. Please help me.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • I keep getting the follow error messages when I try to sign into iTunes store or redeem a song code: We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection could not be established. There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again

I keep getting the following error messages on my Mac when I try to redeem a song code: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection could not be established. There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again later."  and then, "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50)."

    Hello, constance132.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I could recommend when receiving error -50.
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    Windows Vista:
  \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows 7:
  \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows XP:
  \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading Digital Copies using Windows:
Use MSCONFIG (directions for Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7) to disable conflicting software.
If using MSCONFIG steps resolves the issue, you may want to use the System Configuration Utility to turn on the third-party System Services and Startup Items one at a time (restarting your computer after turning on the item or items) to identify which System Service or Startup Item is causing the conflict.
You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict.

  • I get 'unknown error' message when I try to sign in to Air app store (I can sign in to iTunes just fine). Anyone help

When I try to sign in to the Air app store, I get an 'unknown error' message.  I can sign in to iTunes just fine.  Any suggestions?

Fixed the problem by going to settings/store and logging out with apple ID.  Then logged back in with password and updates, apps, and iTunes store seem to work ok now.

  • Getting an error message when they try to log into the Discussion Board

I know this is not MacBook related, or maybe it is, since I have a MacBook. Anyway, this is the Discussion board I visit the most, so I thought I would post here.
When I try to log in to the Discussion Board, I fill in my User Name and Password and press the Log In button and then the next screen comes up with an error message. I have successfully logged in, but I am not taken back to the Discussion Board I left. This is the message:
    "Error
An error has occurred. We apologize for the inconvenience.
    Useful links:
    * Forum Home -- browse the forums here.
    * Search Forums -- visit the search page to query all forum content."
Is anyone else seeing this? If so, how do I correct it? This is happening on Safari 3 and also with Camino. Thanks.
    Thom

    Hi all,
    just as a hint:
There is a whole Forum for things related to the Discussion Board.
    See here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1076
As for the error you get, I get it also.
According to the a.m. Forum, Apple knows about this error and is trying to fix it.

  • I get an error message 400 when trying to sign into Adobe from PE9

I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 9. I have a valid Adobe ID because I can use it to log into adobe.com successfully. However, when I try to use it to sign in from PE9 ("Sign In With Your Adobe ID" at bottom left of opening screen), it gives me: "Error: Photoshop.com services are currently unavailable. Please try again later or check your network connections. Error 400."

    FredVid
Do not "Sign In" to Premiere Elements 10 and earlier. "Sign In" is gone along with the photoshop.com and photoshop.com plus feature.
Also, be aware that you probably still see content associated with photoshop.com plus members only. Even though you see that content as
thumbnails, the content is no longer available to you. It went with photoshop.com and photoshop.com plus.
    Bottom Line:
    Don't
Please try again later or check your network connections. Error 400."
Just do not go through the "Sign In" ritual and instead (after any indicated Cancel) proceed to import, editing, and export.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thanks.
