I am getting an error message "memory could not be written" after automatic download 1 hr ago.

I received an error message after opening Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 that the memory could not be written.  Previously, an automatic update had downloaded and restarted my computer.  Now I cannot use Adobe reader or Acrobat at all.  It opens up a page then after about 15 seconds the error messsage comes up then the page closes.

Yes,
I believe it is working now.  I appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Harriet Orr
