I am getting No service issue in iphone since yesterday

I am using Iphone 3GS phone. I just came to business trip to south africa and I bought one new local SIM. When I am trying to put my SIM in my Iphone I am getting an error of "No Service". Could you please help me as earliest possible as I am unable to make any calls.

Hello AshokPandey,
I understand how important it is to have cellular service on your iPhone, especially on a business trip. I found an article with steps to take if you are seeing "No Service" on your iPhone. I recommend following the steps in this article to resolve that error message:

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities and have a safe and successful business trip!

• I keep getting no service on my iphone 4s anyone kno how to fix it?

i keep getting no service on my iphone anyone know how to fix the problem?

hi guys,
i recently bought a new iphone 4s factory unlocked. in order to avoid sim failures and invalid sim errors or No service errors, Each phone has to be unlocked by connecting it to the Itunes.
Kindly follow the below steps to avoid any SIM card conflicts
iPhone FULL Unlock - How it Works:
-Connect your iphone to itunes without any network sim inside and when connected click on the iphones name.
- Click Restore install latest version of iTunes on your Pc or Mac or click check for updates
- Let itunes Backup your phone and then Flash to the Latest Version.
- Now disconnect phone and reconnect after 10 seconds.
- Now Enter another network simcard that's not the same network its locked on to
- Connect phone to iTunes with not accepted (not valid) simcard
- Wait until iTunes detects the phone
- iTunes will display (Congratulations, Your iPhone is now unlocked)
- Phone Unlocked
- just follow the instructions about activating the Iphone.
and iphone is unlocked
NOTE : This is the only FULL LIFE TIME UNLOCK solution for Apple iPhone as the IMEI is registered as UNLOCKED in Apple database.
This solution should be used ONLY THOSE WHO BOUGHT FACTORY UNLOCKED iPHONE 4S.
Your phone will always be unlocked even after each new update of your phone firmware !
All reasons given like bad IMEI series, manufacturing defects etc blah blah are not logical as everything was tested before every sale.

• Why am I getting "no service" message on iphone 4

For the past week I have received "no service" in the upper right corner of the home screen. I am using the latest IOS and latest Itunes.
When I get the message, it stays until I turn the phone off and then back on.
Based on apple care reps. I have restored the phone, first with a restore to last backup, and most recently to new. The problem happens randomly, but last time was 12 hours ago, and right after a sync with itunes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well, after restore the phone four times they told me that it was an antenna issue so they gave me a new iPhone since mine was still under the warranty.
call apple care< they may tell u if urs still under the warranty

• I barely get any service on my iphone 5 and I have at

I've had the iphone 5 since it came out and have always had trouble with the service. i barely get ANY service in my apartment, but my roommate, who also has an iphone 5 and at&t, has full service all the time. It is starting to get really frustrating because I don't get people's calls or text messages!
I've contacted apple support but it got disconnected and can't seem to reconnect.
I have toggled with the cellular data turning it on and off, reset my network settings, turned my phone on and off, I do not know what else to do !

Get a new sim from AT&T. If no change, your next stop is an Apple store.

• No Service issue even after Iphone Restore

Hi,
I am getting No Service issue on my iPhone 4s. So I restored it in recovery mode by connecting to iTunes. However, there was no luck, the problem persist. Now, I am suspecting that this could be the hardware issue.
My main concern is, 3 years earlier, I bought this device in US and I am in India now. Also the device is out for warranty. I am not sure how do I connect to US support and get this thing repaired or replaced.
Anybody who had done this before?
Regards,
jay

Thanks for reply Lyssa,
Yes, the phone unlocked by the carrier before you relocated to India. And I contacted the carrier in India, they replaced my SIM and its working fine with other phone. However with same SIM I am getting No Service on my iPhone.

• HT5163 I keep getting No Service when trying to connect my unlocked phone to a new carrier. I know the SIM card works so it is an iPhone or AT&T issue.

I keep getting No Service when trying to connect my unlocked phone to a new carrier. I know the SIM card works so it is an iPhone or AT&T issue. Can anyone help me with this please?

You must complete the unlock process with the ATT SIM in the phone. Follow the directions you received with the email saying that your unlock was approved.
At the end of the process you should have gotten an message saying that your phone was succesfully unlocked.

• Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message: "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". What does this mean? I have had this phone for over a year..

Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message: "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". What is the issue, had this phone over a year??

I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!

• IPhone 4s and Sim failure and No service issue

Ok,
Few days back I asekd questions regarding few other issues with iPhone 4s. here is it, https://discussions.apple.com/message/17068754#17068754
Few gentlemen told me, to replace sim card. Here is what I did,
1) I am from India. I was using Vodafone 3g micro sim. Everyday, 4-5 times in the ideal mode I got messages like Sim failure and invalid sim. I have to restart my iPhone everytime. Then only it was working.
2) I posted the question, people said its my card problem
3) I bought new BSNL 3G micro sim card for iPhone. I inserted the card and got 3G working.
4) After 3 hours, I saw No service message. I waited for some time, i went to outside to see if it was a network issue. Nothing changed.
5) I rebooted my iPhone, it immediaetly picked the network.
6) After few hours, again it lost and said no service.
7) I then didn't rebooted it.
8) In the morning, I saw Sim Failure and invalid sim message. Useless
9) I now rebooted and Sim is working with 3G network.
Now please ,
is this iPhone issue? It is for sure. I am tired now. Battery is dying and with this Sim Failure and No service, I am totally disappointed.

Hi Ahelpyguy...
I read all your messages above , I am facing the same problem as u faced.
My Iphone 4S and it was working fine (5.0) until i upgrade to 5.0.1(9A406).
Now I am facing alot of network issues. I get messages liek NO Sim , SIM FAILURE.
I even restored the sowftware from ITUNES but i am still facing the same problem.
I was using Vodafone first but I heard that due to problem in micro sim reader of Iphone 4s i shd use a 128 K or 64 K sim.. Since only Airtel provided 64K sim ...I installed that in my phone. But still i am facing the same issue.
I would appreciate if you can tell me whats Tweaked version of 5.0.1.
the current software installed on my phone is 5.0.1 (9A406).
Thanks
Prateek

• No service issue and poor battary life on iphone 5?!?!?!?!?1

cmon Apple./I have had my iphone 5 for over a month and keep getting this no service issue,..,the battary is terrible,.wont even last 8 hours with light browsing and I ahve used all the battary saving tricks,.I dont ask for much from this expensive gadget,.I just use it to text call and look at the net,.all three of which I have had problems with from day one!!!!! My iphone 3gs which I had for 3 years never gave me one problem?I have read countless threads on this issue,.please can you sort it out of help or offer a refund,.I am actually wanting to go back to my 3gs its got so bad and I am tired of reading all day to find a solution,.Apple used to just work!!what happened?

Went to apple again. Same problem. Drains 5% an hour on standby with everything shut and airplane mode. They said this is "normal" and REFUSED to replace my phone as the battery health was normal. They say, "The hardware is ok, so we cannot replace the phone". I had them do a full restore from recovery mode. DId not help.
Just to reiterate. I have done EVERYTHING- restore, full restore, shut apps, turned of location services, wifi, network, push mail, BG app refresh and reduced motion and set auto-lock to 1 min. Even auto-brightness is off and screen is at 30% brightness.
Now I am stuck. Poor battery and uncompramising apple. This is perhaps making me anti-apple from an apple fan.
Just wanted to ask, are such usage times and standby times normal? They are much less than what apple claims.

• IPhone 5 No Service Issue

I posted this in the ATT forums but haven’t heard back. Thought I would give it a shot here.
Short story – has anyone with an iPhone 5 had “No Service” issues with ATT and been able to fix it?
Long story – A couple of months ago they upgraded the towers to LTE and now the service is horrible. Whenever my phone switches between LTE, 4G, and E it goes No Service first. It is constantly switching so I cannot complete a phone call lasting longer than a minute. It will also sit in No Service for extended periods since the tower upgrade. I am the only one in the house with an iPhone 5. The other phones are not experiencing this issue.
Has anyone had a similar problem? How did you fix it?
I have called multiple times. I have emailed. I have chatted. I have received no help on this issue. A member of my family plan called them yesterday about this issue. They said they would call me back on her phone at 7 to troubleshoot my phone. They never did call.
Additionally, I have other problems since the “upgrades.” The data usage is way off. I have used a data counter and ATT is claiming I’m using considerably more than my counter shows. I have tried to get credits for this but they say we will give you credits after we fix the phone. They never fix the phone though so I never get the credits. It’s like some weird Kafkaesque Catch-22.
I am really so sick of the whole situation that I just want to switch to a different carrier. I don’t want the cancellation fees though and I want to port my numbers. I would think I wouldn’t be subjected to the fees because the service doesn’t work, but I’m sure there is some weird catch to that as well.
Thanks for any help

Since you didn't tell what troubleshooting steps you took, if any, do the followning steps:
1. Reset phone (no data loss): press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
3. Replace SIM card from AT&T
4. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup.
6. Warranty service from Apple.

• Constantly getting "No Service"iPhone 3

G'day people
My iPhone 3G is starting to really annoy me.
Every day, at some point, the phone says "No Service" and I can't make or receive calls. Yet, if I do a reboot I get 5 bars!
It's got to the point where I have to reboot the phone twice a day. Is anybody else having this issue?
I've got firmware 2.0.1 and I think it's worse than when I had 2.0
Thanks
Al

I keep getting these same issues, granted I don't get the best signal where I live but, I thought the iPhone 3G was meant to fall back to EDGE > GPRS > GSM? I didn't have any problems with my 2G iPhone at home so it's absolutely puzzling!
I also keep getting 'NO SIM' and 'SIM NOT VALID' type messages in between and making calls has become really hit and miss. Has anyone else had these problems?
I've been reading up on trying to resolve this problem myself, so i've tried every trick in the book! including reseating the SIM. I'm just about to try the SIM in my 2G model to see if it's a SIM issue but I don't see why it should be, there can't be that much to SIM card so much that it could develop a fault.
At this stage I'm just a bit disappointed, Apple products are usually really good and well built, but it seems to me that the iPhone 3G was a bit of a rush-job...
Thankfully the staff at the store are the most helpful people ever, so I've got no doubt if it turns out to be a hardware issue, then they will replace it.

Hi KL04!
Let's see what's causing the problem! Current zip code? When did the issue begin? Are you experiencing the issue in or outdoors?
