I Get No Sound Out of My iPad - How Can I Get Sound?

I can't get any sound out of my iPad.The lock sounds switch on the side of the iPad is set to provide sounds. The volume switch next to the lock sounds switch is set to full volume. I have a number of apps that are much better if sound is enabled. There is no sound for these apps. The Options in the apps are all set to "sound." I have re-booted my iPad. Still no sound. I have gone into Settings/Sounds. I don't see anything in there that involves the master sound system for the entire iPad - only sound setting for individual apps.
I have several manuals. I have combed through them - nothing. It's like how to turn the master sound on or off for the iPad is some kind of huge secret that no one wants me to find out about.
Let's fool 'em, hey? Tell me how to get sound out of my iPad. I will be forever grateful.

Never mind - I got it. It has to do with the Rotation Lock and Mute switches in Settings/General.
How did I figure it out? Google.

I'm not sure I follow your words Fuzzynormal. You've helped by offering the insight that my issue in Logic Pro 9 is not a bug but a feature. But fell short of enlightenment by being a judge of character and of how one should interact in this forum. You insinuate that I haven't tried to solve the issue on my own when in fact I have. These forums are always my last resort. You further suggest that I am complaining. This is not a complaint. It is a genuine issue that I cannot figure out. Then you think that Brazeca is holding my hand and being a nice guy. Brazeca is helping people like me who might not be as adept at using Logic Pro as probably you are.This community forum was established to raise questions, answers and dicussion to help Apple's customers better undertand their operating systems and related issues. You are doing a disservice by not contributing positively and by trying to make this forum what you want it to be. You may have all the time in the world to try figuring out stuff but we are not all like you. We all have different schedules and different levels of understanding. And that is what this forum is for - to help people move forward. If you can't contribute positively then keep silent. And by the way, you say to "read the words that are printed down to explain to you how that works" what words are you talking about? I have a similar problem with a 160 gb Classic, about 5 years old - if I move the plug one channel may be heard and tehn the other. The interface works but not the sound. Different ipods eg nano work perfectly.

- Try insering and removing the headphone plug a dozen times or so.
- Try cleaning out the headphone jack in the iPod.
- Resett he iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restoe to factory defaults/new iPod
If yu still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem, likely a bad headphone jack. Yu can make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to confirm.
If not underwarranty Apple will only exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for:

Ever since i upgraded iTunes i can't get any sound out of it. The player shows the bar moving through the song but nothing is heard.

Trouble getting any sound out of new Mac Pro

I recently bought a new Mac Pro and I've been having trouble getting any sound out of the internal speaker. I believe it thinks that there are always headphones plugged in even when there aren't. I don't get a startup sound and it doesn't make the "volume change quack" when I change the volume. The choices under the Sound panel for Output are: "Headphones", "Line Out", and "Digital Out" even if no headphones are plugged in. Sometimes I can get sound out of the computer if I jiggle around a headphone plug in the jack but as soon as I reboot or the machine wakes up from sleep the sound goes away.
I'm guessing that it's probably a bad headphone jack but before I inevitably have to lug the 60 pound machine to the Genius Bar I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else has had similar issues and if there might be a quick fix to do myself.

I am having the same issue with the sound echo on my iPhone 4S. It seems OK when I talk on the phone, but all the alert sounds do it.
