I am getting numerous 404 Safari errors on iPad/iOS 8.1

Only occurs in Safari. Chrome retrieves the same pages without any problems.

My iPad had the same problem and the screen problems got so bad it's stopped displaying at all. Now it will not even restore. OS 8 is the worst

  • I have a Windows 7 64bit PC and get a Code 52 error when iPad is connected

Initially my iPad 2 sucessfully loaded a Driver when connected but was not visible in iTunes.  I then followed technical support instructions and loaded the Apple Driver (64bit) and now get the following error message and a failure of the device to successfully load:-
"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"
    Any suggestions?

if itunes will not run, you probably have mangled windows badly
one feature of windows 8 is the refresh that saves libraries,
because you are using windows 7, you will need to backup all files to another storage device

  • Changed my exchange email on work computer (req. every 3 months), now I can't get past incorrect password error on iPad.

I'm required to change my exchange email password every 3 months on my work computer.  Now I can't get past the incorrect email error on my iPad.  It won't accept my new or old exchange password and won't let me get past the error to do anything else on my iPad.  Hitting cancel doesn't help, the error just comes back a second later, so my iPad is useless for anything else and I can't get to Settings to either enter the new password for the account or delete and re-enter the account. Is there some kind of soft reset I can do? Any other suggestions?

I saw some other posts on the web and completely powered off of the iPad.  Then turned it on again and was able to quickly go to Settings and update the password.  So this is no longer an issue for me.  Just a pain that this is what I'll have to do every three months when I have to change my exchange password again.

  • FlashHelp deployed in RH7 displays 404 page error instead of topic

I upgraded some help projects from RHX5 to RH7.
In MAC (OS 10.5.x) Safari (3.2.1), when the application calls the FlashHelp authored in RH7, the Help opens, but the Help topic does not display. Instead, a 404 Page not found error is displayed. If you click a topic in the TOC the HTML content is displayed - so the Help does work after you select a topic.
From the same application, if you call a Help project that was not upgraded to RH7 (but was still authored in RHX5) the topic content opens as expected (you do not get the 404 Page error).
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

The only resolutions I found so far are:
    - replace RH js call to direct call to topic URL
    - switch to WebHelp
When I submitted this issue to Adobe support I received a call stating that they do not support JS application calls to Help systems generated in RH. If you can open the topic (that is an individual html topic file) independently using the browser, apparently they consider that generation successul and the browser to be supported.
Just musing over the reply here. It's odd that they would say that, giiven the fact the WebHelp API *IS* a JavaScript application call, is it not?

    Hi,
Wheneve you have a problem, prlease post a complete test script that people can run to re-create the problem and test their ideas. Include CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for any tables used, abnd the results you want it to produce.

  • Unexpected "numeric or value error" when using CAST COLLECT

I am having trouble with string aggregation using CAST / COLLECT and the to_string function described on various sites around the net including AskTom and http://www.oracle-developer.net/display.php?id=306.
I am getting "numeric or value error: character string buffer too small" but cannot see which limit I am exceeding.
I have put together a simple test case to highlight this problem which I have pasted below.
The error does not seem to be coming from the to_string function itself (else I expect we would see "TO_STRING raised an exception" in the returned error message).
    Any thoughts much appreciated,
    Thanks, Andy

    Aha, of course.
I was aware of the 4000 character SQL VARCHAR2 limit but didn't think it would apply here since we are calling a PLSQL function and trying to assign the value it returns into a PLSQL varchar2(32000) variable. BUT... we are of course doing this via a SELECT statement and hence via SQL. Therefore the SQL 4000 limit applies.
With this in mind, I changed the RETURN type of the to_string function to be CLOB. This solved the problem.
    Thank you,
    Andy

  • Numeric or value error when doing to_number

I have a source file where I have field1 character field with value say -5757.31. I need to map this feild to target table which is numeric field.
When I do the to_number of field1, do I need to specify the format?
When I am just doing to_number without any format, iam getting numeric or value error.
    Thanks

    Hi,
the implicit conversion depends on the nls parameters of your session. To be on the save side, define them explicitly: to_number('-5757.31', '9999999D99', 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = ''.,''')

  • 404 Connection Error

We've installed the client onto the user machines and are getting a 404 Connection Error when the users log into BPC for Excel.  Anyone have any ideas on where to start in diagnosing this error?
    Thanks,
    Mike

When the installation of BPC was done did you use any special port for Webserver or application server?
I think when you try to login with webexcel you didn't specify the port.
when is asking about application server you have to input nameofserver:port
Usually 404 error is related to "Web site not accessible on the requested port".
Or the firewall from that client is preventing to connect using specific port.

  • 404.3 error CFMX7 and Win 7

Surprised I cannot find any discussions about this other than an unanswered one from 2007 and no replies.
I have just installed CF7 on a Boot Camp MacBookPro.  Running SQL 2000.
Yesterday I had CF working fine using the Admin console to set up SQL 2000 connections ... but when I tried a local dev web site, I got the 404.3.  Unable to determine how to add MIME for cfm in IIS 7, decided to reinstall CF7.Thinking that CFM would talk natively to IIS and configure itself.
    Wrong.
After reinstalling, I go to the CF Admin panel and get the 404.3 eror.
Can someone tell me how to add this MIME type, if that is a real error message?
    Many thanks.
    Robert

Thank you for your reply ...
    1. Is IIS Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility feature installed?
Absolutely no idea.  How would I know?
    2. Did you configure CF to use IIS instead of the built in web server?
When installing we told it to configure for all IIS web site.
    3. Try installing the CF9.0.1 update, improved support for IIS 7 is advertised as feature of this update.
May have lied ... We're using IIS 6.1 build 7600.
    This DID work yesterday ...
We were running CFMX7.  SQL 2000.  Brand new install.  We could bring up the Admin panel but could NOT connect to any db's.  After working on it for a day we finally for the db connections going - no idea how - after a reboot.  All was ok .. but when we tried to load an application of ours as a sub site, we got this error.  We got nowhere so we decided to reinstall MX7.  Which is when we got this error on even the Admin screen.  So we decided to clean up ... Uninstall MX7.  And instead download CF9 eval and install that after reading notes that said it had a cleaner install on Windows 7 and IIS 6.  But still get the 404.3 error.
Going to lunch; will read your URL pointers and resume later ... thank you for your ear!

  • When I use the shortcut to open a new window in safari (command N), I get a 404 error message from Google. How do I change where 'Command N' routes to?

When I use the shortcut to open a new window in safari (command N) on my Macbook Pro, I get a 404 error message from Google. How do I change where 'Command N' routes to?

It's not necessary to change the Command N keystroke..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

Right. If you are using delegated privs and sudo, make sure that sudo is configured to pass on the PERL5LIB and ORACLE_HOME environment variables at least.
