I am getting soooooo screwed and about to get a lawyer!!!

I am completely at the end of my rope with this company and my phone bill! I had unlimited data for years, took full advantage of it by using it as a mobile hotspot and for streaming Netflix into my home. I def got my money's worth over the years, but when it was time for an upgrade on my phone, I was told that I had to give up my unlimited data, that it was no longer available. (Which I have found it since is not true) so I switched to 4GB, (which now is showing up on my phone bill as 2GB, screwed again)
BUT HERE"S THE KICKER!
I bought my phone back in August. I was told that my data that was used previous to switching phone plans, would not reflect on my next billing cycle.
Wrong! Within two weeks, I had a phone bill showing a balance of $1000+!!!
So I called immediately. I was told that it was not something they could take care of, because I bought my phone from an independent Verizon dealer, I had to take it up with them. So I did. Was told it was taken care of, don't worry. That was in August. THis is now December and NOBODY has taken it off my bill! And I am now in collections! I've had my phone shut off several times. I call, they turn it back on, but only temporarily, telling me that I must get this independent dealer to have this taken off my bill. I go to them, they tell me that it has to go thru 5 levels for the highest guy on the totem pole to okay it and take it off. All these months later, this ******* apparently hasn't gotten the memo. I ask to call him myself. I am told that even they do not have this number, that it has to go thru 5 people to get to him. ***!!!????  NOBODY CAN TAKE THIS OFF MY BILL?  In the mean time, since this has all started, my phone has been shut off several times, and this time after reconnecting it, i can no longer be heard when i call someone. THey told me that that has nothing to do with it. That now i must buy another phone. This is all such ******* ********! My phone worked perfectly fine until the last time they reconnected it! VERIZON! I AM CONTACTING A LAWYER THIS WEEK!  My hands are tied, nobody can help me, all i get is the runaround and my phone shut off and reconnected. But no credit to my bill. THis is a nightmare! I have always paid my bills with you. I never had these problems when i was dealing with Alltell. I am contacting a lawyer, and then I a mmoving on to another provider once I am out from under this mess! And tho your customer service reps are always very friendly and have done everything in their power to help me, they too are completely helpless to my situation. I know they feel bad and I have been impatient with them even tho this is not their fault. You have quite the monopoly going on. **** a person on their phone bill and then make it utterly impossible to undo the damage by putting helpless mouths on the phone. Meanwhile, nobody can get in contact with the people really in charge!!  THis is absolutely ridiculous and I've had it!

Yes, I understand what you are saying. The day I purchased my new phone, as well as changed my plan, I was told that all data used previously would be rolled back into the last billing cycle and would NOT reflect onto the next billing cycle. But they did mess it up, that's not what they did and it was up to them to correct. The retailer that I bought the phone from. And then was told on numerous occasions, that it was being taken care of, do not worry. That this would be off my bill within a week. In the meantime, it never leaves my bill. I call and  talk with Verizon themselves and to the independent retailer that caused this mess in the first place. Neither can seem to solve anything for me. Who am I supposed to even write to? They won't even give me a contact to anyone that could ever expedite this process. I have never gone over my 2 GB's that I currently have on the new plan. I removed mobile hotspot immediately and purchased internet at home and now use Wifi, both here and at work. So that was never the problem. They are charging me for data that I used when I was still under an unlimited plan.
Thank you for your advice, I will be filing a claim with small claims, as well as sending something in writing to whoever. Though, I highly doubt it gets anyone's attention or this problem solved. Hopefully a lawsuit will. At this point, I am not really concerned of the cost or time, it's now about the principle of the matter! I've already wasted HOURS on the phone and at the local retail store.

    Find the app that is continuously trying to send data and failing.
    Have you rebooted (reset) the phone? If that does not resolve the problem there are a number of diagnostics that you can try. A search of the forum for "battery problem" should be rewarding. You don't need to include the version in the search, as this can happen with any version.

    I had been following the posts in the forums and watching for about 2.5 years.. (forever and I bit the bullet and bought last night).. I feel like I've been participating the the forums already LOL.
    I purchased a brand new computer back in late December just to buy VC then I waited and it was gone... Had to wait a while to get it ... SO I am the MORE excited to get started.
    I am going to go back a re-read everything about lighting from the old forum. Gonna get my green screen too ... I feel like its Christmas LOL
    Anyway just happy to get started.
    By the way is there going to be another essentials dvd. Do you think I could use the one for 2??

  • Connecting my iPod gets my iTunes and Finder to get stuck! Any suggestions?

    Hi, ya all... I saw there are some similar threads but with no useful answers, so I'll start a new one.
    A while ago, after several weeks of flawless performance, my iPod classic (120 GB) has begun giving me problems. Although I'm not sure it's it... it may be iTunes, I dunno...
    You see, as soon as I connect it to my Powerbook to sync it, iTunes does start, but quickly gets to the "coloured spinning wheel", as does the Finder!
    Needless to say I can't do anything about it. I can't wipe my iPod clean and start all over (since it's not recognized at all) and I can't update its software whatsoever (even if there's no need to do it, since my last update was roughly a month ago).
    The iPod itself displays the "connected" screen, as everything was OK, but on the computer it's not connected at all (since both iTunes and the Finder are stuck).
    Then, when I forcefully unplug the device, the computer says that I should have done it in the proper way! *IS IT KIDDING?!?!? IF IT ONLY LET ME DO THAT, I WOULD!!!! (THAT F£#%ING PIECE OF JUNK!)*
    Anyway... I seem to be stuck in a rut, since the very act of connecting my iPod to the Mac seems to make it go nuts.
    I already re-downloaded iTunes to the last available version, and I already did the "press 'menu' and the center button" trick on the iPod.
    Now what?

    Well... go figure... I tried to connect it once more, just for the sake of trying once more... and after a loooooong while the problem seemed to fix itself.

  • I need to upgrade from version 2 to use certain websites. I can download version 3.6 or but once opened I dont know what to do next, I just seem to geta big list and can't get the programme to run?? Can anyone help????

    My netbook is about 2 years old and came with firefox and linux. It has only been used for internet browsing and has been great......but now firefox version2 is out of date and sites such as facebook are not useable. It suggests i update to a newer version of firefox. I can find version 3.6 or 4 easily, download it but when I go to open it theres no run or prompts of how to install. I am not very computer literate to cant understand things that come of when I google for an answer!! Can anyone help me in easy to understand terms please??? thank you in advance

    I did that :
    Open Terminal
    1 - wget http://rpms.famillecollet.com/remi-release-8.rpm
    2 - sudo rpm -Uvh remi-release-8.rpm
    3 - sudo mousepad /etc/yum.repos.d/remi.repo
    Make sur that in remi section enabled value = 1 and in test section enabled value= 0
    4 - sudo rpm -e --nodeps firefox
    5 - sudo yum install firefox
    It was successful for me after many hours to look for the right answer

    Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.
    You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
    Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

    You should not be sharing your iTunes account with others. Until you stop you will continue to have this issue. Have the others get their own accounts on their own computers for their own devices, then no one will have this issue.

    I've followed the instructions on the flash website, but i can't even get the flash file to download. the file that i get is supposed to be asociated with FF, that's why im contacting you guys. is there other way i can manually allow adobe to install flash without using their website directly?

    I had that problem myself and was forced to download the installer for "other browsers" using Internet Explorer at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ . After I did that it installed correctly. You can also try downloading the FULL installers for flash at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html . Just make sure that all browser windows are closed before you run either of these.

    I have two problems that may be related. I am using a PowerBook G4 (Tiger 10.4.5). Sometimes when I turn it on I get a blue screen and that's it. Nothing else will come up. I have to do a forced shut down and then restart it with the shift key depressed and run repair disk permissions and then it works okay till the next time it decides to return to the blue screen (once a day approx.).
    Also, sometimes it goes to sleep and will not wake up. I have to shut it down and then restart it (sometimes getting the dreaded blue screen).
    This just started happening after I installed Tiger.

  • $186 for One Blackberry . . . I just don't get the pricing and can't get a good explanation

    I've had two phones, a Blackberry (1400 mins, 250 mess., 2GB data) and a cheap Samsung (1400 mins, 250 messages). Last month I paid $130 for both of them, $115 for the Blackberry and $15 for the Samsung.
    This month, I asked Verizon to drop the Samsung because it's just not used. My new bill amount is $185.82!!! Wow. I thought I was a reasonably capable person, but I don't get this math by Verizon. I paid $115 for the Blackberry last month and this month I'll pay $186. Was there a penalty for dropping the Samsung add-on phone?
    This is way too pricey for me. As mentioned, maybe AT&T looks a ton more attractive now.

The reason Verizon changed it is because 900 minutes is not available for a Family Plan. You have 700, 1400, 2000 and unlimited minutes available for Family Plans.
    Verizon increased it to 1400. That is part of the difference. However, that's not a change I would have made. This is a change that HAD to be made when you switched to a Family Plan. When you dropped the Family Plan and changed to an Individual Plan, you would have had to choose  from 450, 900 and unlimited minutes.
    I'm still one person who doesn't use the phone much. I'm not going to up my minutes - I'll use the phone the same amount this month as last. After 50+ years, my phone usage has become fairly stable.
    Anyway, thanks for the help people, but it doesn't seem Verizon CS can do much more than read "accurate" charges to me
    The guy got pretty snotty when I mentioned AT&T - lost his composure completely.
    It seems that you are leaving out parts of the story, which makes it even harder to help you. What you need to do is sign into My Verizon, print out your itemized bill, and it will tell you EXACTLY what the additional charges are. It sounds as if you, CS and your 10 year-old son are NOT reading the itemized bill. Otherwise, you would know WHAT the additional charges were.

    I just had my macbook pro checked out and all of it's systems restarted to solve its beeping and freezing problem. However, it is still shutting itself down when I close the lid and becoming very hot.  When I open the lid again the screen is black and I have to continually hold down the power button in order to turn it back on.
