I am going insane,guys. Help me out please. Also, this has multiple questions.

I'll try to stay on topic.
BACKSTORY, and Q1: here we go. skip to the BOLD if you dont want to read my sob story. I think it rather helps though.
My iPod Touch(4gen, 32 gigs, etc) was previously jailbroken(by a friend, no idea how it was done), but after the screen cracked(dropped it somewhere), I decided to update and "re-jail" it. Then, my computer needed new RAM(it got too random and stored nonpaged), so I did not want to fix the screen until I got my computer fixed, I wanted to save/backup all my files, because I heard that Apple might replace the iPod itself.(I thought I could avoid voiding the warranty if I "re-jailed" it.) Don't know if it does screen replacement.Then, I got an update on my computer's status. I had no viruses but the hard drive wiped itself clean, and that of two other laptops. Weird, eh? Now that my computer is fixed, I have about 416 songs on it, the stuff I purchased is only 96 songs. The rest I ripped from cds. So there is no way for me to put my itouch's music onto my computer, without having to buy some thrid party software. I have NO money, just enough to fix my screen.
Q1: Is replacing the screen the only plausible thing for me to do? That is, I don't know if Apple would transfer ALL of my music. I wish. But I just don't think they will.
Q2: Can I update iTunes to 10.3.1 without losing my library? Most of these songs are not purchased, as mentioned above. Yes, there's only like 300, but I still worked hard to find it all, and put it onto my computer. I'd rather not lose it.(A friend of mine has recently updated iTunes and lost all of her music in her library and on her iPod)
Q3:Can I update my iTouch to 4.3.3 without it erasing all my stuff? This is my biggest worry. I'd have to write down EVERY SONG that has not been purchased through iTunes to find later if it erased it all. My iTouch still only has like 1314 songs because I'm trying not get any more until I'm sure about the updating thing.
All the music is on my iTouch, because of the computer issue.
So if any of that was coherent, please try to answer some of it.

3. Will the data on my iPod be preserved?
No. You will receive a replacement iPod that will not contain any of your data, songs, or after-market personalizations. Before you submit your iPod for service, it is your responsibility to keep a separate backup copy of the data stored on your iPod and reinstall that data.

Q2- Updating iTunes should not change/delete your library.  However, thisngs sometimes happen.  You should have the computer files backed up
Q3- When you update an iOS, the first step is making a backup of the iPod.  However, the backup does not include the apps themselves or music since those are always synced to the iPod from your iTunes library.  You need to use a third-party program to copy the non-iTunes purchased music to your computer.  That is the way it is.
