I am going to switch carriers in August if you do not roll back my phone software (KitKat issues)
I just spent 6 hours trying to find a solution online to a plethora of problems I and my wife are experiencing since we updated our Droid Razr Maxx HD phones to 4.4.2 (Kit Kat). I learned:
1. We are not alone.
2. Because we did not "root"our phones before the update, we are not able to roll back the OS ourselves.
3. We are stuck with what are now two phones that do not perform to our expectations.
I have a total of 5 devices on my account and I pay you $370 per month for service. I WILL change carriers when our contract is up on August 8th if you do not restore our phones to the previous software. Spare me the excuses, promises of a future fix, etc. I am done.

I have read other post about this and one of them said to uncheck "enable auto channel scan" in my router settings and chang from chanel 6 to 5. I was able to change the channel to 5 but i can't find anywhere on their page where it has the option to uncheck "enable auto channel scan". I have a Netgear router WGT624 v3. I've had this problem for months and finally called Apple support and paid the one time support fee to get a solution. I purchased a 21.5" iMac in the summer of 2011 and am currently running OS X 10.7.3. After confirming all my wifi settings were correct (already suspected this, since every other wireless device in the house works great), the Apple support tech recommended changing channels on my router from "Enable Auto Channel Scan" to one channel out of the 11 available. I currently have a D-Link DIR-655 router, but the tech said the same structure exists on all wireless routers. In other words, my situation would not improve if I bought an Apple router (Airport Extreme, Time Capsule, etc). I logged into my router (here are common IP addresses for routers... http://compnetworking.about.com/od/workingwithipaddresses/f/getrouteripaddr.htm , and made the channel preference change (in my case, unchecked "enable auto channel scan" and changed from channel 6 to channel 5). It's been a few days since applying this change and so far, I haven't lost my connectivity. Even though I live in a residential subdivision (not an apartment / condo), my iMac is detecting up to 21 other local networks and this was causing interference (some of my neighbors using the same channel). Sure enough, when I check the channels of nearby networks, I find many are using channel 6 and no one is using channel 5. To find out what nearby network channels are being used, go to Apple icon in top left, "about this Mac", "more info", "system report", under network choose "wifi", scroll down and see other wifi network info. Changing the router channel from auto enable to a specific channel has improved both my internet connectivity and speed (not sharing same channel with neighbors). Hope this helps!

I recently did a backup and restore on my Iphone4 because iI was going to switch carriers. When I switched carriers I went back to I tunes to restore my backup and nothing was there .Some how I lost all of my data, is there a way I can retrive my data or not? I had all of my pics and contacts on the backup. please help..
When you say nothing was there, do you mean the backup wasn't there?

How to pay my final bill after switching carriers???
I switched to a different carrier at the end of June. I was on auto pay and as usual I received an email from Verizon Wireless regarding my final bill. The email said that the automatic payment would be made on August 7th. However, it is now the 15th and the payment has not been deducted from my checking account. So, I am wondering if there is something different that I have to do to pay this since I am no longer a customer? If so, why does Verizon Wireless not inform you of this?
I understand that Verizon probably makes this difficult to punish people for switching carriers, but you lose customers who might consider coming back in the future by giving them a bad final experience. It would seem to me that a customer's online My Verizon account should be kept active until their final payment is made or alternately, Verizon Wireless should send a paper final bill. I have a stellar credit rating and the last thing I want is for this to go into collections for a lousy 70 cents... especially since I WANT to pay it.. HELP!A paper copy should have already been sent to the address of record on your account.

I recently replaced my lost iPhone but in the process, had to switch carriers and activate a new phone number. I backed the new phone up from iCloud which was still attached to the old number (for example, when I attempt to sync Keychains, the security code continues to be sent to the old number). My wife and I both have 64GB iphone 5. I am military and we had to move to a new town. Our service is with AT&T. They called us to tell us we were off network, and we could not use any of the data we pay for every month. And they have the option to terminate our contract at any time. So my question is, if this happens does anyone know if carriers, or apple will switch out your phone, or do we have to buy new ones.
Afraid you will have to buy new phones. Neither Apple nor any carrier I've ever had has considered that sort of thing a condition to replace your devices (AT&T and others have let people out of their contracts without penalty because of moving though).
Before you leave AT&T, ask them to unlock your phones. Then, you may be able to use them with T-Mobile - although T-Mobile is not fully compatable with all iPhone features yet, their service may be an option until you are ready to buy new devices. Also, your iPhone 5's would likely still get you a decent return if you sold them, or just used something like Gazelle (Gazelle's web site just came up with an offer of $380 for 32GB iPhone 5, factory unlocked in flawless condition - $400 for your 64GB devices with the same conditions).
So, you should be able to get enough for your iPhone 5's to pay the subsidized new contract cost of new iPhones with Verizon or Sprint. -
recently transfered from AT&T to Verizon iphone 4s and when I did the syn everything came over to new device except exchange calendar items. Any idea how to get them synced. I 've lost them from the computer as well.
This has nothing to do with switching carriers and the syncing of calendar events over the air with an Exchange server has nothing to do with the iTunes sync process.
On the iPhone go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Select the Exchange account.
Is Calendars turned on for over the air syncing? -

Carriers lock phones. Only Carriers can unlock them. Contact the carrier to whom your phone is locked. See if they allow unlocking, and if they do, what the qualifications are.

My iPhone (iPhone 5S) getting green display after one second going to switch off then automatically ON during FaceTime call. My OS version now 7.0.4. I think recent update actually to fix the above issue but still continues.
Similar issue Andrew. After installing 8.0, the IOS deleted 225 songs from one of my playlists, and I'm still "recalling" songs that are no longer in my Music Library. Fortunately, although the playlist of 235 had only 6 songs left on it ( on my Mac), the Playlist was not erased from my I -Phone. I was able to recreate the Playlist on my Mac, using the intact playlist on my phone. When I synched however, I was back to square one. I went to the Apple store, and I had to reset the phone . We also downloaded IOS 8.02. They saved my playlist in the Cloud, deleted it from my Mac, then synched it. Lo and behold, the playlist I recreated on my Mac, synched to my I Phone. After the reset, I had like 11GB of free space. (Its been 5 days since the "reset" and the number of GBs fluctuates from day to day !!)
When I got home from the Apple store I spent after hours reinstalling all the apps, synchng the phone to the Bluetooth in my car ( you know the rest of the saga) , I purchased a song from I Tunes. I "drag and dropped" it into a Playlist, and synched. Didn't work. Song shows in "Recently Added", but the drag and drop feature doesn't work. Bottom line, I'm not willing to "reset" my phone every time I add a song ! I've tried any number of fixes posted to this support community, but none have worked for me.
Furthermore, it took me 3 hours to get the phone re-synched to the Bluetooth system in my car. However every time I connect to "Bluetooth Audio", the system needs to "find" and "reconnect to" my phone. If you ( or anyone else ) finds something that might work for both the music synch and /or the Bluetooth, I'd appreciate your input.

My network goes off and does not come back unless I switch off and switch on

I have started getting spammed on multiple Apple products (iPhone and iPad) with FaceTime calls since the recent IOS update. Is there any feature or setting I can use locally to restrict incoming calls to a FaceTime account without going to the carrier?
After calling AT&T tech support one more time, and explaining to them that the glitch was on their network, they admitted that the problem was at their tower...
I continued to use the phone on EDGE mode for two more days until the problem was fixed.
I even got a call back from a tech support guy asking me if my phone was working properly....
I wish they would have admitted to the problem before I sat at the apple store for 2 hours. -
I recently bought an iPhone 5s from boost mobile I thought service would be decent but it really *****. I'm wondering if there is any way I can switch carriers maybe to us cellular seeing that they recently added new prepaid plans and have good service in my area. I do know boost operates with sprint but not sure what I can do because having an expensive phone with crappy service really *****
Sorry, but Boost reportedly does not offer unlocking for iPhones, so you're stuck with them unless you can return the iPhone for a refund and cancel the service, or can sell the iPhone to someone who could use it with Boost.

My husband purchased my phone at Apple Store, we then assigned At&t as our carrier. I am no longer under contract and want to switch carriers. I am told I must unlock my phone, but I am not sure if I have to since we bought the phone at full price from Apple. If I do have to unlock my phone first how would I do that?
