I am going to upgrade to new iPad. Have ipad2 with wifi

I am going to upgrade to a new iPad. When I reset my old ipad2, will all personal info go away.
Basically, will all factory settings return?  Also I visit several Safari sights  for financial investments.
Will these sights remain stored in old iPad as I plan to sell it?
Also will downloaded APPS disappear?
Any help will be appreciated

Thanks for the help. Sure we'll visit again.
Now I have to set price for old iPad.
Thanks

How can we make a call from iPad 3rd generation with wifi+4G?

You cant "Call" anyone. Its not a phone. You can facetime other IOS users. Setup facetime with your apple id in ipad settings/facetime. You can also download apps like skype in the app store.

  • I received a New Ipad Mini 32gb with WIFI Only as a gift, Is it possible to exchange it for one with 3G and WiFi

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

There is the no questioned ask 14/15 day return policy with apple stores.  Ask the person who gifted it to you.
Other than that there is MiFi.
    I recently signed up for FreedomPop.com. http://www.freedompop.com
FreedomPop provides 500meg of free 4g cellular data per month!  You do need to buy their wireless device at $39.   There are ways of getting bonus megs.  One gig of addition data costs $10 per month.  I used about 15megs per hour of lite internet surfing.
When signing up, you need to be careful with your selections.  On some screens, the free option is a small link below the large button.  FreedomPop employs a Pavlovian Dog < Operant conditioning > thing of getting you used to clicking on the large button then they change the large button to a paid add-on.
Once you setup your account, you need to go to your account options screen to turn off automatic paid data download once you exceed your quota.
The performance seems a little slower than my DSL connection.

I upgraded my new iPad (iPad 3) to IOS 6 and everything went well except Siri won’t launch apps. When asked say “launch Facebook” Siri responds with “it doesn’t look like you have an app named Facebook” and I get the same results when trying to launch any app. Siri works for everything else it just won’t launch apps. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have this same problem... Seems like nobody else does. Siri won't launch any apps for me, including native apps.

I  wonder if another provider would really be much different?  Read some of the other carrier forums - seems to be the same story everywhere.
I'm not disagreeing with you - I've found that I am usually more informed about Verizon policies and procedures than some of the reps in our local store.

  • My wife has a new Ipad and Iphone with icloud. We also have a Imac that has not been upgraded yet that is somehow syncing with her ipad and screwing up the apps. Is there anyway to prevent this. Maybe it is thru mobilme?

I think iCloud isn't coming until this fall and not until iOS 5 is publicly available. Right now there is confusion because all this stuff is still in beta and things are under NDA and may still change.
I'd just set the 3GS up the same as currently. When iOS 5 is available in the fall (and I don't think Apple has specified beyond "fall"), before you update, there should be any number of guides to setting things up and how it will all work. http://macworld.com is a good place to look for such information.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not remove any third-party apps, just the settings. If you wish to restore to "as new," then:
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
You will be prompted to Restore as New or Restore from a Backup. Choose the first option.

You mention that you have tried restarting, but did you try a reset?
Simultaneously hold down the Home and the On buttons until the iPad shuts downs. Ignore the Off slider should it appear. This will take ten seconds give or take. After the sut down is complete, press the Onn button to restart. NOTE: this is different from simply shutting down the iPad.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Is the router to small?
Not necessarily, if you are using Facetime all the data goes through your WiFi router, your cable/DSL modem, your ISP and the internet to Apple's Facetime servers and then, in reverse, down to the Facetime recipient. If your ISP connection is too slow or there is excessive traffic on the internet you can have Facetime problems.
Most WiFi routers can handle this unless others in the house are also using WiFi at the same time. The problem may be your ISP connection or congestion on the internet, etc.

Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then login with your id. Any content already on the iPad will be tied to the previous owner's id and it can't be copied or transferred to your id - so it's probably best to do restore the iPad back to factory defaults and start as from new with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents And Settings
