I am having a hard time connecting to the Internet with my iPad

All of a sudden my iPad no longer connects to my network on wifi. It has worked just fine for a long time and a second iPad works just fine. Need some help trouble shooting.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

how do i connect to the internet with my ipad?

Did you turn WiFi on in the Settings App? If WiFi is turned on, your iPad should be able to see any WiFi networks that you can connect to and you should be able to tap on one of those, enter a password if needed and then tap the join button.
I get the feeling that you know this and the problem needs further explanation so ... Can you explain in more detail?

  • Can I connect to the internet with an Ipad in Santo Domingo, DR while I'm on vacation?

Can I connect to the internet with an Ipad in Santo Domingo, DR while I'm on vacation?

Lots of hotels in the DR have WiFi. And there is plenty of cellular coverage in Santo Domingo (and elsewhere).
One thing to be careful of, the WiFi networks are usually not secured and are very vulnerable to people "listening" for passwords and user names, so don't do any financial transactions online and perhaps consider setting up some temporary passwords for the trip and changing them when you get home.

  • HT1695 Why can't i connect to the internet with my iPad?

My ipads been working just fine ever since i got (a little less than a month ago) and today the wifi connection went off for less than a minute ( i was using my macbook pro at the moment) and came back. The computer continued using the internet just fine but not my ipad. I choose my network in the wifi settings and the circle thing is spinning right next to its name and is not responding, it just spins perpetually. Ive tried everything i could from turning the ipad on/off, to resetting the network settings and unrecognizing my network and connecting again. I thought it maybe was the wifi network itself but then why is my computer and ipod connected just fine (i've also tried unconnecting/connecting to my wifi in them and it works??)?? I am practically right next to the router and i gave up trying new solutions so if someone could please help me out with this!

    Hi,
Try resetting your iPad - hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears. See if that clears it up.

    1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
    2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    3. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings

I have a PC DVR Net  card and having a hard time connecting to the media server from my friends computer.I have read everything I can about port forwarding and I believe everything is right but I can't connect to my Web Cam server from another location. I do have it working on my Lan but when I go to a friends computer I can download the Web Cam fine but when I try to start the server it say's can't connect. My router is a WRT54G Version 3. I forward the Ports to the ports I was suppose to and I even made the computer a static Ip on it and everything seem's to work but I can't get into the server from another PC outside of my connection. My windows XP firewall is turned off and I even turned off the firewall on the router but still no luck. I hooked my connection up right to the computer bypassing the router and I was able to connect to my camera server from my friends computer with no problem so I know it's the router itself causing the problem..I used this one program to check and see if the ports were open and it said they were so I'm lost at this point. Any suggestions I would appreciate it very much.
    Thank's

Reset the router for few seconds ...
Disable all the firewall on the computer ...
Check the IOp ... if getting Ip - 192.168.1.X .... try to ping the Ip .... If getting replies ... try going online
If not gettting Ip -- assign static Ip ... repeat the step ...
Still no luck ..possible the router is gone bad ....

  • Having a hard time lining up the audio to the video with FCPX.

    Hi there
I'm having a hard time lining up the audio to the video with FCPX.
I'll just advise what I am doing.
I have recorded video of me playing bass guitar along to a song.
I have recorded the video in 720p with a DSLR.
I have recorded the bass guitar audio directly into Garageband (Using a USB interface) on a separate track to the song that I am playing along to. (It is played very well and is not out of time to the original)
I then mix the original song and the new bass guitar audio played by myself and export as an AIF in Garageband.
I import the video from the DSLR and AIF audio into Final Cut Pro X (10.0.5)
I can get the audio and video NEARLY bang on to timing, but its still ever so slightly off. As its ever so ever so slightly off it looks like I'm not really playing the bass guitar myself.
I'm moving the audio intricately but I just cant seem to get it lined up EXACTLY.
My camera picked up a tiny bit of audio so I can hear and see the audio wav on the video track to try and line it up with the audio wav of the AIF, but no matter what I just cant get it to line up and look exactly right.
Can anyone offer any advise or tips?
    Thanks

Make sure you have Snapping switched off.
Expand the timeline to see the detail.
Rather than lining it up manually you could try the Automatic Audio Synch if there is any audio on the original video.

  • WRT 120N- Cannot connect to the internet with more than one PC at a time.

Before I went on a three month vacation,I could connect 3 or 4 PC's either wireless or wired to my router with no problems at all.I have a desk top and a laptop computer which I use at home. After I returned,I found that I could connect to the internet with only one PC at a time.
If I was say, connected via my laptop,my desk top would continuously keep getting disconnected and vice versa.I have been reading the suggestions from experts here and have done a few checks based on them.I also cannot get to my router page which is 192.168.1.1 I keep getting a message that says "Problem Loading Page" and this happens with both,Firefox and Internet Explorer.I am running Windows 7 - 32 bit on my desk top and Vista Home Premium on my laptop.
I have opened the "Command Prompt" dialogue and pinged 192.168.1.1 and thereafter I typed in "ipconfig".These are the results:

I presume that this model is a modem **bleep** router as I do not have a separate modem with my system.I have a DSL connection and the firmware version of my router is ver.1.0.If I recall,I did upgrade to the next firmware upgrade a few months after I purchased the router but I am not sure.
I use both my PC's to run a small business venture and I am worried that resetting the router may cause some other problems and will stop me from using the internet.
The Command Prompt information above was taken from my laptop.
Any help will be really appreciated.

I do not know if the above result is what it is supposed to be but I still cannot access my router's home page. How do I verify if there is a proxy server and if there is one,how do I disable it in my browsers? This problem occured suddenly as a few months earlier all was well. It's getting rather frustrating.
I suggest resetting the router. Make sure firmware is updated. You can download it here - http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT120N. After firmware upgrade, reset and reconfigure. Just access the link below to guide you setting up the router.

This is my first mac, so I’m still new to how it works, which is not helping either so a detailed help would be great.  Please help before my wife losses it
    thanks

There is a 2701HG-B, and a 2701HG-D.  If not labelled on the modem, ask Windstream which one they presently supply or how to tell the difference.
By the way tell your wife it isn't that bad.  At least you have an ethernet DSL modem.  There were times where DSL modems had RJ-11, USB, and Ethernet, and all three were used to provide access.  At least now only the craziest DSL providers still use those modems.
