I am having a printing problem with reader xi when i try to print a pdf file?

i am having a problem printing on either of my printers with pdf e-mail attachments.
the printer hangs up until i go to device manager to stop it and then it ptints.
sometimes i get an error message "an internal error occured".
i have reinstalled the software and also tried to repair in control panel with no luck.
can anyone point me in the right dirrection to fix this?
thanks...

After a great deal of confusion,  I got to the right page in the help files. What I have to do to print PDF's, for I have no clue what reason, is on this page, under the "windows only" section.
http://helpx.adobe.com/reader/using/print-pdfs.html#why_can_t_i_print_my_document
The basic is:  right click on the non-printing document, select document properties, then advanced;  if "protected mode" is "on", then..... click "edit" on the document, "preferences", and turn off the "enable protected mode" icon at the top of the mega-list that appears,  click ok, close Reader, then reopen Reader and the pdf document, and miraculously, the "Print" icon at the top of the page will allow printing!

  • Deskjet 3055A shows "problem with tricolour cartridge" when I try to print.

I am relatively new to the world of wireless printing. The printer is not quite a year old and I've never had problems printing from my iPad before. I have removed and replaced the cartridge but still the same message!

I should have asked this from start,  Does The Black Ink Work?...... Not true, its an "estimated ink level" So it may be empty. BUT Now i know your not dealing with a NEW one. There is a few thing you can try. go to you "toolbox" command under your printer icon and run a cleaner for cartridge's (or similar command), also take it back out and (with again a soft thing) clean off the silver rectagle slot on the bottom (it will leave color on the soft thing you using to clean it with) just in case it has dryed up ink stuck on it from sitting. If that one is also used do the same... or spend the 20 some bucks for a new one just to see what happens. Hope this helps you out.

Something is definitely wrong with your install of Reader.
A PDF consists of only the number of pages it was created with.  Reader can and will only open those pages... IF it's installed and working properly.
Opening multiple blank pages from a document which contains none is a clear sign that the software isn't functioning. It's like putting a movie into a DVD player, and your TV starts a picture slide show of your last Summer's vacation. Not possible unless there's something seriously wrong.
    Uninstall Reader 9.
Use either Adobe's clean uninstaller or Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2. exe) to remove all Reader installer files from your system.
Reinstall Reader 9 from a new download (do not use the old one if you still have it on your system)

  • When I try to open a PDF file the reader flashes on the screen then closes

When I try to open a PDF file the reader flashes on the screen then closes. I have to open the reader, then search for the pdf file through the reader. I'm using Adobe Reader 11.0.5 with windows 7 service pack 1 home premium. Is there any way I can just click on a PDF file and the reader automaticaly opens? I purchased the upgrade so I can convert PDF to Word but it didnt make any difference.

    Some things to try...
    Update Reader to version 11.0.06
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

As has been mentioned Adobe Reader cannot export PDF page content. Nor can it create PDF or manipulate PDF page content.
What you can do is use one of Adobe's online subscription services. Two provide for PDF  to Word export.
    There's ExportPDF and PDF Pack.

  • Printing problem with Reader 11.0.03

I have updated to Adobe Reader 11.0.03 but now cannot print any PDF files. When I try to print, I get an error message "The document could not be printed". When I click "OK", I get a second error message that "There were no pages selected to print". Of course, I have tried selecting "All" pages as well as individual pages but nothing works. I have verified that my printer drivers are current and it will print other types of documents (Word, etc). This problem was not present with the previous Reader version. I am running Windows 7 and IE10 with everything updated. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions (setting the security level, making sure scripting is activated, etc) but no success. Please advise.

    Hi John,
Please try printing some other PDF with the same printer and then check.
In Reader, go to File> Print> Page Size & Handling (Multiple) and uncheck 'Print on both sides' option.
Let me know if this sorts your problem.

My Wells Fargo account requires Adobe Reader for PDFs, so I downloaded Reader 11.0.10 to my Mac. Now when I try to print files that Preview printed flawlessly on a HP LaserJet 2200dn, all I get is two blank pages. What needs fixing—Adobe Reader, Mac OS X, the LaserJet driver?

  • Printing Problems with Reader XI

Everything was fine until today. Yesterday, I installed the trial version of InDesign. Now, when I try to print any PDF that is in portrait mode, it prints them all in landscape and cuts them off. The preview still shows the page in landscape even though Portrait mode is selected. The page does not rotate when you alternate between Portrait and Landscape modes.
Please help, as my bank statements CANNOT be downloaded to files, so I can't DL them and print from an alternate PDF application like Preview.
Happens whether I'm in Safari or Firefox. Changing default app to Preview also did not work. It's gotta be a problem with the plug-in.

  • Something called Data Execution Prevention shuts Reader down when I try to print.

I've had this problem with Reader X & Reader 9. I'm running Vista oc and whenever I try print a pdf a message comes up that says Adobe Reader has stoped working correctly and is being shut down by windows. Then another message appears saying that Adobe Reader was shut down by Data Execution Prevention in order to protect the computer from damage. I tried to remove Adobe Reader from the list of programs turned on for DEP and got a message stating that Adobe Reader has to run with DEP and DEP cannot be turned off for it. Anyone know how to work around this?

I have the same issue with Adobe Reader X and Windows Vista Home Premium.
Could someone please post information on this issue??

  • The printer prints the fonts too small when I try to print a page off the Internet.

My new printer is the Photosmart D110a. It is printing documents from Microsoft word but when I try to print a document from an Internet site, the font is so small I cannot read it. How can I adjust the printer settings so the font size is a 12? I  do not think I have the wireless stuff set up correctly but I don't need to do any cloud printing or things like that. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

OK, well, when you print, use File > Print or Control-P on the resulting window click on Preferences, then on the Effects tab.  See if you are printing in Acutal Size, like this:

  • Booklet printing problems with Reader XI (version 11.0.06)

I created an 80 page 5.5" x 8.5" booklet using Word 2011 running under OSX 10.9.2 on a new 27" iMac.  I then "printed" it to a PDF file.  I then opened the PDF file in Reader XI and attempted to print it out using the "booklet" option as described at
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/print-booklets-acrobat-reader.html#main1_Reader_and_Acro bat_X .
I planned to manually duplex the booklet booklet since my HP Color Laserjet CP1518ni printer does not have automatic duplexing.  The first sign that something was wrong came when I selected "Back side only" from the Booklet Subset pop-up menu.  The numbers in the Sheets from boxes showed "Sheets from 1 to 10" when I obviously needed 20 sheets to print the booklet.  Repeated attempts to manually change it to "Sheets from 1 to 20" failed.  Each time I changed "10" to "20", it would flip back to "10" when I clicked the "Print" button.
I set the Booklet Subset to print only the even pages and checked the "Reverse" box as I have done to successfuly print thousands of manually duplexed pages before.
The printer only printed ten sheets.  The first sheet (what should be the booklet's centerfold) had page 40 on the left side as it should, but 42 on the right (it should have been 41).  The last of the ten sheets printed had page 4 on the left side (instead of the expected  2) and 78 on the right side (instead of the expected  79).  Even though these were obviously messed up, I went on to print the front side of these sheets, selecting "normal".  It printed Page 1 on the right side as expected, but printed page 79 (instead of the correct page 80) on the left.
Folding the ten sheets into a booklet revealed the really bizarre nature of the printing snafu. Page 1 was, as expected, on the front.  Turning the first page open revealed pages 4 and 5.  Turning the second page revealed Pabes 8 (left) and 9 (right).  This pattern continued, printing two pages, then skipping two pages, right into the centerfold pages 40 (left) and 42 (right).  The first page turn after the centerfold revealed pages 43 (left) and 46 (right).  The next revealed 47 (left) and 50 (right).
I am at a complete loss of how to determine where the printing process went afoul.  Printing the PDF file normally (one page per sheet one-sided) resulted in all pages being printed normally.
The really frustrating part of this entire experience is that I could find no place to report this "bug" to Adobe.  If anyone can help me solve this printing dilemma, or put me in touch with someone at Adobe who could help, it would be greatly appreciated.
The booklet is due at the printer's tomorrow and the inability to print a proof is a real pain.  Hope the printer can print this file as a booklet.  I would be happy to send this file (125 Mb) to anyone who might help.

I arrived here looking for a solution!  And while reading your post the penny dropped that I didn't have a serious problem.  I have a booklet of 112 pages and all I needed to do was re-order the pages as printed so that 1 is followed by a sheet with 2 on the under-face but same side and so on.  The pages had printed back to front and needed flipping.  But then I have a duplex printer and maybe that makes a difference.  Is it to do with your manual duplexing and the order that the second pass is presented to the printer.  As my duplex sheets effectively needed flipping over each one I'm wondering if you can solve your problem with a little experimentation and re-ordering before your second pass.
