I am having a problem getting my iphone4 to hold onto a wi-fi connection.

This has become a real problem because i love audio books and have ordered them on my phone up until recently....
you cannot download something that large without a wi-fi connection that last longer than 30 seconds. I dont know if this has anything to do with recent updates and i really dont care. i have tried every fix that i can find on this web site and none of them have solved my problem and i have even gotten my phone company to replace the phone itself to no avail. because when i restore it with my info from itunes..... the same thing happened.... no Wi-Fi. now i loved my apple products and have raved about them to my friends but i cannot rave about this phone and cannot get the new iphone 5 because my lovely phone co. will decrease my data service which at the moment really doesnt seem to matter because .....my phone cant keep a Wi-fi signal for more than 30 seconds.
fix this before i have to get a droid.....

You are having problems because iTunes is not designed to work that way. Syncing is one way, computer to device. Copy the whole iTunes folder from your old laptop or your backup (you do have one, don't you?) to the same location on the new one. If you no longer have the old laptop you will have to use third party software to copy just media files, then rebuild all yoru playlists, ratings, playcounts, etc. by hand.
Any items you purchased from Apple can be downloaded to iTunes from the iTunes store again, if that feature is available in your ocuntry.

I really wish I had started counting, you must be post #100 or something. I suggest you browse this forum. This issue has been going on for at least 3 days now. It happens to some part of the time, some for all the time, not at all to others.
It's not clear what the issue is, or where it lies. If it's something to do with Apple's servers they are not likely to discuss it. There was an issue like this a few months ago with the weather widgets and people kept on posting with no news until one day it suddenly started working, again with no news. If you wish to, you can report to Apple.

Having a problem getting the 4 digit SMS access code. Even when I click on the get code tab, It says an error has occurred during the Viber activation process.

Is Viber an app? have you tried contacting the developer?

Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.

I'm having a problem with getting a custom persona to be able to be used, I followed all the size rules, and the instructions for getting it to be used, but it won't stay up. I have FF 4 and windows 7. It will display while I'm in edit, but will not stay up. I do not intend to upload to sight, it's for my own use.

I went and shut all addons down except for personas and it still persisted not to have my custom one stay "up". but would switch to a gallery one I had on previously. I tried an old custom one I had success with before I updated to FF 4, and it would not let it stay up. Thanks though for the suggestion.

6. Reinstall the affected application
Remove the application from your device and reinstall it.
1. Touch and hold any application icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle.
2. Tap the "x" in the corner of the application you want to delete.
3. Tap Delete to remove the application and all of its data from your device.
4. Press the Home button.
5. Go to the App Store.
6. Search for the application and then download it again.

Is anyone else having a problem getting windows 7 to load on bootcamp after installing on an apple mac pro? Mac is running Snow Leopard

Vista and XP load and boot up to desktop, no problems. Custom install of 7 goes right through the install and says it's completed, windows boots up (not showing desktop or the option to type in the product key) but then shuts down repeatedly and wont even let me start up in any safe mode.
I have also tried upgrading from vista with SP1 but gets to the end saying it was not successful and restored back to Vista - very frustrating!
Another thing i've tried (amongst others!) is having no hardware plugged in (just monitor, keyboard and mouse), even taking out any other hard drives than the one the OS is installed on.
I have a feeling it may be a display problem as when windows reboots it goes (very quickly) through a blue screen saying reset the display driver, driver timeout failed, collecting data for crash dump before getting to 100% very quickly before i can read it all and rebooting with the options to start up in safe mode of which it it says it cannot do and to allow a restart to finish installation which of course doesn't happen!
Back in the mac this is what i get when accessing 'about this mac' Where it says Display Connector Status: No Display Connected is this normal as i do have a monitor plugged in and working! All software (inc display driver) on osx is up to date

Same issue - however firefox will open but I can not click on only of my tool bar shortcuts - the writing on the google age is greyed out so I can not click on anything. Still no resolution? I have deleted the folders and re-installed - it will open and then locks and it will not work????

I'm having trouble getting onto certain webpages that I was able to get onto a few weeks ago. My safari browser on my iphone 3G is telling me that it doesn't accept cookies, however, when I go into my setting and then to my safari preferences, my phone is set to accept cookies.

Sorry, Ed, but this one seems to be unique to you. The site has experienced no problems, and we've received no other reports of people having trouble loading it.
Don't know which browser you're using, but that could be an issue. (You can also try dumping the browser's cache. Sometimes that gets fixes things.) Or you can try a different browser.
But, for better or worse, there doesn't seem to be any problems at the Muvipix.com end.

Having a problem getting an internet connection through WRT54G at school

I recently purchased a WRT54G router to try and set up a wireless network within my dorm. The internet connection is already being provided by the school itself and comes to me through a box that provides the internet/phone line/and cable. The problem I am having is getting the connection to go through my router. When I plug the router into the unit that is giving my computer the connection currently the router recognizes some sort of connection because the "Internet" light is on. I can't follow the directions of installation exactly because I don't have the actual modem in my room. Any suggestions on how to remedy this problem are welcome.

if your computer is connected to linksys router through the wire in that case what u can do is ..
you can swich off your modem and linksys router ...after that swich on only your mode and than wait for the lights to get stable once the lights are stable than swich on the linksys router ..and this should fix your issue
or
if you are connecting to the linksys router wirelessly than connect any of your computer to the linksys router through wire and than on your computer open a internet page and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 you will get the linksys setup page make the wireless settings and than seacrch for the wireless network on the othe wireless laptop you should find your network than try connecting to that network once u r connected to that network u will be able to go online ..
if still the issue remains same let me know u r network setup

I'm having a problem getting iweb to open,can someone help me?

When i try and open iweb i get the message "the application could not find the movie "movie" used in this document. do you want to choose another movie?" i hit cancel and the message disappears for a few seconds and then pops back up with a #1 behind the movie that it can't find that created this document, then i hit cancel and the message goes away and the pops up again with a #2 behind the movie it can't find and so on, i have to hit cancel 2 to 4 times then iweb opens. just wondering if anybody can help ?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Evidently the movies that were used in your site have been moved or deleted. If just moved then select choose another and find the correct file and select it. Otherwise once you've gotten iWeb open, locate the movies in your site and delete those that are giving the problem.
