When posting in Apple Communties/Forums/Message Boards.......It would help us to know which iMac model you have, which OS & version you're using, how much RAM, etc. You can have this info displayed on the bottom of every post by completing your system profile and filling in the information asked for.
***This will help in providing you with the proper and/or correct solutions.***
Can you post a picture of your problem? Sometimes, that helps. You did not mention where this ghosting effect takes place? Startup? Finder? Browser?

Invisible Shield + Colour Screen- Does Anyone Have a Blurred Picture
I was looking to buy an invisible shield for my ipod video and noticed that in my local online store there was a note that said:
"due to a problem with the included screen protector blurring the the screen on colour iPod's and iPod Photo's we do not recommend purchasing the Podshield for use with any iPod's with a colour screen"
Does anyone have this problem or a way to get passed it? The Shield sounds great so I would really like to know any way I can get passed this.
Thanx
Ipod Video (30gb)I bought an invisible shield by direct mail from the manufacturer in the USA and it arrived within 4-5 days. $25 sounds a lot for 2 bits of plastic but from what I've heard about how easy it is for Ipod to scratch up (I wouldn't know myself!), it is worth every penny. As long as you take your time to install it and follow the instructions properly, it provides superb protection and you can bearly notice it once its on. It is a FANTASTIC product and I would recommend it to anyone. In fact, it's the finish that Apple should have had on the Ipod from the start !

I am having a problem sending/receiving e mail messages on my iPhone 5 and cannot access my account. The message I am receiving is: The user name or password for "imap.gmail" is incorrect.
I do not know what imap.gmail is. I have also lost data which was contained on my diary which I believe is linked to the problem. Does anyone recognise this problem?
Cheers,

imap.gmail is the Google mail server. It doesn't recognize the password that is stored in the iPhone. The problem is that the password or email address you have in Settings for the gmail account is wrong. If you changed the password somewhere else that is the reason. You need to go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, tap on the gmail account and enter the correct password. You also need to change it for outgoing mail in Settings. -
It's currently taking me ages to send multiple emails as I'm having to copy and paste the email each time. Does anyone know if there is a way that I can send the same email several times but that can be addressed (Dear....) to different people?
Oh at least just duplicate the same email several times so all I will be maunally inserting each time will be the address/name??? Please help!!!

My iPhone5 says it's eligible for the lock button replacement but I would like to know if having water damage means they won't repair it. Does anyone know?
Probably not covered but only Apple can tell you after they look at it.

I saw a ghost reflected in my iMac screen?
Do you think it was really a ghost or is it just because the screen is so glossy? I did just move into a new apartment and I have this feeling something is behind me often when I'm at the computer.

Lasey ~ If your new apartment is on a +dead end+ street, I think it really was a ghost.

If you run _Photo Booth_ continually, you'll be able to see what you're feeling without having to turn around. But if it looks like this, it's just someone in a costume:
< Click to view full size
...unless it's a ghost in a costume trying to deceive you — but that would be unlikely. -
I have an Intel based iMac that has just developed two small spots on the screen - they look light brighter spots on the screen. One 1/8" circle at bottom right and a tiny circle at top right. The fading on and off light on area surrounding the screen isn't working anymore either. Has anyone else had similar problems? Any solutions? Thanks!
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

MacBook Pro having weird black noise on the screen. Anyone seen this befor
So I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro 2.2 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs of ram. Recently the DVD drive has died on it but more importantly it has started having weird black things on the screen and it will freeze right up. It has been doing this more and more. It will do it when I have had it running for a long time and everything is hot, it will do it when It has just been sitting there in a screen saver doing nothing, and it will do it when I have just had it on for a few min right out of my bag. I am running Snow leopard on it. I have never seen a machine do this before in my 10 years of having Apple Laptops. Anyone have a similar experience? I have a little video of what it's doing on youtube.

I have PS CS5 extended. I am trying to create a blurred lighting vignette on a photo. I am having a great deal of trouble!
Please elaborate and post screenshots to illustrate your issues.

Do you have any ideas why Motion 5 would run slow on a computer? I have an Imac with 8Gigs of ram, and plenty of hard drive space, but it still gives me the beach ball when I add a few lights and effects. I'm at the end of my rope.
You probably don't really need 1080 at 60 for your finished projects but since you're just starting out with Motion, you need to lower your expectations. A long way. 1080 is about 2 million pixels per frame, DV is only about 400,000. That's not just five times as many pixels for the Mac to track; everything in video is exponential.
Explore the training tutorials available by Mark Spencer. You will get an idea of how his super powerful machine reacts with the software.
Adding a light roughly doubles the processing time over flat scenes. Two lights increases processing again. Reflections require processing the lights and then calculating the reflections so add another quarter of the time required for flat scenes. Add camera movement, motion blur, and depth of field and you need exponentially more processing time for every frame. The preload of renders into RAM is one of the cooler features of Motion, as comapred to After Effects, but that takes tons of time, to.
Try working in ye olde DV resolution for a few days. Get to know the software's limitations and what gets imposed by your Macintosh. Step up to 720p/30 and see how things slow down. -
CS4 - Unwanted ghosting effect showing up in all videos - Similiar to an onion skin
I'm having some sort of weird ghosting effect on all my videos in Premiere Pro CS4. It's similiar to an onion skin that shows the previous frame. It shows in the timeline preview and when I render out the video. I've never had this problem before until just a few days ago. It even shows up in old premiere files that I made weeks ago that didn't have this problem at the time. I've even tried working on a different computer using a different Premier CS4 and had the same problem.
Is anyone else experiencing this or have I gone crazy? The videos are 30fps and so is the project.
Are you sure of that? That's definitely frame blending, which occurs in two instances: when a clip has been explicitly time-altered (e.g. from 100% to 33.33%), or when a clip's frame rate does not match your sequence frame rate. For instance, your clips might actually be 30fps, but your sequence is probably 29.97fps--a minor difference, but enough to cause the problem you're seeing.
Confirm the true frame rate of each of these, and if they're different, you can put the clips in the correct sequence, or you can interpret your clips to match the sequence--a change of 30 to 29.97fps is not going to cause any weird slow downs. -
CS3 Premiere Still Image Ghost Effect Before Transition
I have a timeline with photos that I have automated to the timeline using the default transition between photos. When I render out the video and burn it to disc (the images with dark or black backgrounds are the most noticable) you can see the next image in line that is to be shown briefly through the image that is currently on screen. It's almost like a ghosting effect of the next image like it is in a holding pattern waiting to dissolve into the image. This seems to occur throughout the timeline but as I said, it is much more obvious on images with dark or black backgrounds.
I'm pretty sure I've had this problem in the past and don't remember how I resolved it. In rendering, I render out to an NTSC DV AVI file and import into Encore 2 and let Encore 2 handle the file rendering.
If someone could enlighten me on what the issue may be that I could quickly resolve, I would appreciate it. In the meantime, I will try other ways of kicking the file out to see if I get any better desired results.
Thanks in advance.can you put a screenshot of your timeline with the still images on it here ???? that might help us see what your transistions
are doing etc...tell us more about what transition you're using ( cross dissolve ? ..) stuff like that... -
37" 1080p Insignia TV going dark to light while watching
I am having problems with the picture of my new insignia tv. While watching either cable or dvd the picture will go from dark to light while playing. Not sure if adjusting the setting will do anything for this. Anyone that has experienced this problem and knows what needed to do will be greatly appreciated.
When you say dark to light, do you mean that the back light of the t.v. gets brighter and then not as bright? If that is the case, check and see if you have a setting option for auto back light on your menu, and turn it off. My t.v. used to do that too, but I'm not 100 percent sure that is what you are referring too.
