I am having issues staying connected to wi-fi networks

This issue just started a couple weeks ago.  Whenever I connect to a wi-fi network, I am connected for less than a minute and then am kicked off the network.  This happens no matter where I am and no matter what the wi-fi network is.  It is getting rather annoying!  I reset the network settings, and that did absolutely nothing.  Why is this happening?

You can try first restoring from backup and then try restoring to factoery defaults/new iPOd.  Otherwise there is really nothing else you can do.

  • I'm having trouble staying connected to the internet

I'm having trouble "staying" connected to the internet.

    hmmmmmmm..........
How are you connected to "the internet?"  There are many ways & you provided none.
If wireless, are you using one of Apple's routers, or a 3rd part one?  If the latter post in their forums or contact their tech support department.
    Last but not least:
Please detail all you have done to resolve your issue.  Need this information so that the users can avoid the "been there, done that" scenario type responses.  This is to avoid repeating the troubleshooting you may have already tried.  Thank you.

Okay, I'm having issues with connecting my iPhone 4 to iTunes. I've connected it via U.S.B. and now everything's not working right the 10th time. Am I to redownload the iTunes software once again or will I never be able to add music anymore?

    Close any open applications.
Click the Apple icon top left of the screen.
Select the bottom option in the cascading menu: Log Out (your user name).
    Log in a Guest.
This will dertermine if there is a problem with your Admin account.

  • HT5569 on my wifi page  linksys what does the  Renew Lease  mean?   I'm having trouble staying connected to my home wifi, does this have anything to do with that?

I'm having trouble staying connected to my home Wifi, it keeps going to 3G (I have never had this problem until today) When it is connected while I'm close to the router I click on the circled i after the linksys  & it goes to the IP adress stuff, down a little waysafter the DNS & sarch domains it says Renew Lease - should I click on that?

DHCP is the system that dynamically assigns ip addresses from a pool of addresses.
You get a lease for the ip addresses. After the lease is up, the ip addresses is released and put back in the pool.
You get assigned another ip address.
Renewing the lease releases the IP address and assigns you a new one.
It will not cause any harm.

I have contacted apple via email and tried all the steps they have recommended and it is still not working.
I have tried disabling my McAfee and that does not work either.
Anyone that the phone number to apple express so I don't have to keep waiting for them to email within 48 hours?
    Thanks.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Having trouble staying connected to IEEE 802.1X with my iPhone 4s

I got my iPhone 4S pre-ordered with Verizon and I am having trouble staying connected to my college's 802.1x WiFi connection. My college has a help website with a walkthrough to connect to the network and it works and I can get WiFi on my phone but when I lock my phone for about 1 minute my phone forgets the connection and I have to go through the steps all over again to get connected.
Here are the steps my school site has me follow:
Connecting to the RPI Wireless Network Using 802.1x Authentication on the iPhone / iPod Touch
Make sure that your device has been updated to the latest software version available.
Go into Settings and select Wi-Fi.
Make sure the Wi-Fi switch is set to ON.
Under Choose a Network, select Other....
Enter rpi_802.1x for the Network Name, and press the Security option.
Select WPA2 Enterprise as the security, then press the Other Network button in the top-left corner to return to the previous screen.
Enter your RCS userID and password in the appropriate fields and press the blue Join button in the bottom-right.
Let the network access load, then press the Accept button to accept the certificate provided.
This is really annoying so any help would be appreciated.

We use 802.1x Authentication here at UCSD and it seems fine.
The only problem i see is it will disconnect when you lock the phone but it automatically reconnects when you unlock the phone.
Our setup is a lot simpler, you just select the network and enter in your AD account information.
It could be your college has not setup their wifi correctly. You should connect your network team.

  • Problem staying connected to my Wireless Network with my HPPhotosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a

I just bought a new HP wireless printer replacing my old HP wireless printer which the wireless part worked fine, but the printing died.
New printer HPPhotosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a. I have installed and re-installed the software and drivers but can't get my printer to stay connected to my laptop. I have a Linksys "WRT54GL router but have the printer set with a static IP address. When I run tests on the computer and printer everything says it is fine. But every 30 seconds or so.. my printer goes offline on my computer and is especially noticeable when I am using the HP Solution center because it will keep blinking in the windows bar. I have talked to 4 technicians but no one can figure out what the problem is. They keep saying that it is on my end, but the old printer which was also an HP (Wireless 6150) never had any problems and I have not changed anything in my routing. Is anyone else having this kind of problem and has found a successful solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My computer is running Windows XP SP3
Currently my router has WEP encryption, but I tried them all just to see if that had anything to do with it. (WEP works best for me since I have some devices which can only use WEP to communicate).
    Thanks.

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.18.1.100 to .149.  Let's use 192.168.1.200 for your printer.
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • IPods, iPads, iPhones having issues to connect to WLAN???

    Hi,
    I am using a 4402-50 WLC, AP1131 and software version 7.0.98.210.
The problem I am having is that this devices have to do many retries to connect to the WLAN but the rest of laptops and mobiles do not. I wonder if it has to do with the CCX since I had experienced that before but in stand alone mode. This problem has been experienced since a month ago and there had not been changes made in the WLC configuration.
The logs the WLC is giving are:
Note: I looked for this message at the web and it said it was a message generated by version bug.

I do not think this is related BUT it is what we are experiencing in our wireless network when we went from just 2.4 to 2.4 & 5 ghz with the same ssid's.
Apple devices when given the choice between 5 & 2.4 were getting (50% of the time) confused I believe because when we allowed the ssid only on the 2.4 the apples could connect.
Another issue we have run into which works flawlessly with NON Apple devices (smartphones and pc's) is the locally attached router handing out the dhcp.
When we try to connect the Apple devices they never receive or accept the dhcp assignment from the router.
The router shows the correct mac addy given an address AND debug shows the router sent the dhcp reply.
Since the switch is passing the information properly to NON Apple devices we know it has to be an Apple issue.
Taking the dhcp functions off the router and putting it on a windows 2003/2008 server resolves the issue...
    Go figure.
We are running wlc 5508 & 3502i Ap's in HREAP mode. (7x code)
For us, Apple devices have made wireless support more challenging.
Oh and I also read some documents online from Princeton University about Apples not following industry standard with regards to dhcp release/renewal.
