I am having issues with parental controls. My kids are able to access websites that are NOT on our approved list.
My children are only allowed to access certain websites, but as of late have been able to bypass the list by typing in a website.

Having issues with my MacBook. Even when the internet is disconnected, apps are still closing and opening on their own. I sometimes do not have control over my cursor.....any suggestions?
There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not be apply in your case.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
3. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
4. Reset the System Management Controller.
5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
6. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
7. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and the unit needs to be serviced or replaced.
8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested. -
Hello, Im new to this website. Im having issues with my Macbook. I have the old 2009 model Macbook and it is our schools macbook. The school just upgraded these MacBooks to OSX Mavericks and when i try to open Minecraft it won't let me. It says no jdk installed. I also try to install Java SE runtime but half way through the Software Update it says cant download software because of network problem but I'm connected to the internet and i can browse stuff just fine. Can any one help with my problems. P.S. I don't know the administrator password or stuff like that. And yes we are allowed to play games and stuff on these laptops but only at home not at school so don't tell me i need to focus on school and not games.
Since you updated the operating system, it is probably Minecraft is missing certain files that ware remove or are not longer comparable with the new version of the OSX. what I recommend, is to check is there is an update for Minecraft and install that. If there is not update available, probably the best thing will be reinstalling Minecraft. Hope this will help you.

Having an issue with Parental Controls...
Hi, I'm having an issue with Parentel Controls.
I run several student labs set with parental controls on the systems for a higher education facility. We don't have restricted access to web content (our students need to look up a lot of things, even some that would be considered racey, it's an arts school) and when I set it to "Allow Unrestricted Access" to web content, about a week or so later I'll start getting reports that content is being blocked. I go to check, and sure enough the controls are set to "restrict access to content".
I've had two interations of this issue thus far and it's a pane to go through each system (there are a lot of systems) and manually reconfigure them back to default.
Any tips?My son could not interact with sites (log in, post) but he could access them (when parental controls were turned on). I had to go under "preferences" on Firefox (under his name) First go to the drop down the menu from the word "Firefox" then "Preferences" "Privacy" (at the top) then "Exceptions" on the right..... and add each address of the sites and pages I wanted to allow. That worked like a charm!! Maybe pull up the itunes STORE address, copy and paste it in "always allow" (you can choose "block" also.....) This is in Firefox PREFERENCES, not just the parental control section.....
Let us know if that helped! Apple was NO help. (I am an Apple fan, but I am not paying 49.99 to get a question answered by someone who didn't sound like he knew anything, anyway...) I think when you pay for a computer you deserve to have ALL the features work... Is that too much to ask? -
Anyone else still having issues with Voice Control?
Mine was activated out of nowhere and of course there is no easy option to turn it off. Its in the international setting...what is that even for?? Its preventing me from organizing my apps, can anyone shed some light on this?
I've reset, double checked settings, and even restored. No change. If I hear Siri say "sorry, I am having trouble connecting to the network" one more time it's going on Craigslist, and I'm going back to Android. Siri seems to be best for the Apple Marketing Dept. In my business we go from Beta to Pilot, to GR. How does Apple give it to the masses and call it Beta. Are they so self confident that they can take the hit?
I often ask it to call xxxx, and it just times out. The other issue is that when it does work, if it works, the lag time from command to execution makes it not functional. If one of the goals is to make it safer for me while I travel, Apple has made it worse since I ultimately have to pick up the phone and dial manually. I did get a surprise answer the other day when I asked Siri a math question from my 11yr old's math homework.
1 out of 50 times it works. So far I have to give Apple a 10+ for Marketing, and a 1 for execution.
Don't even get me started on ICloud set up and support help. -
Looks like it was just released...
Yes... I'm also facing the problem...
I'm using iTunes 11 + iCloud 2.1 + Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.
It still says I need to access Notes, Calendar etc. from iCloud.com.
This *****!
It was working fine with iCloud 2.0 but I had to reinstall iCloud 2.0 and then it stopped synching. -
I am having issues with someone controlling my iPhone 5
I am constantly getting redirects I get you are not authorized to access this information please see your administrator webmaster for further details. It says that there is a bootstrap on my iTunes Store. Then the other day while at a friends house I connected it to iTunes and ran diagnostics on it,it showed intel(R) 82801FB/FBM USB universal host controller 2658 then it showed 3 more like that followed by different numbers and then 82801FB/FBM USB 2 enhanced host controller 265c.it said my network was Broadcom netXtreme 57xxgigabit controller-packet scheduler mini port. I've had this phone replaced 3 times new SIM card new number and can't get rid of it.Any help I can get would be great.I have also wiped my phone about 20x now didn't restore to a backup or anything created all new accounts
What new updates? There hasn't been an update of iOS for several months, and at least that long for iTunes.
Try unchecking Manually Manage, then check it again. The process did not change with the latest update. It has been the same for about 5 years. The only change is the ability to hide the sidebar; you can enable the sidebar in the View menu. -
I've seen the staff responses to the issues of the new Mac Pro GPU saying that 10.9.4 fixes everything. For me, it has fixed my export issues, so I'm glad. I'm no longer getting lines and artifacts on my renders.
That's great.
However, I'm still having several issues, and they seem to be linked to Adobe and Open CL.
Here's a video that shows what's going on:
mac pro issues july 7 - YouTube
Issue #1
Like most of you probably, I'm doing 1080p exports of most things I'm working on. The first project shows a 1080p timeline with a mix of 4k, 5k, and 720p footage. Because zooming in so much on a 720p file in a 4k timeline looks so crappy, I'm doing 1080p timelines and scaling everything to the size it needs to be. I started in a 4k timeline then switched to 1080p because the 720p footage looked so terrible. However, in the 4k timeline, I didn't have any of the issues I'm showing in this first part of the video.
When I switched to the 1080p timeline, I discovered a weird quirk: When I resize the 4k (or 5k) footage to the size it needs to be (which varies based on the frame I want), it goes back to the 100% view when I'm scrubbing through it. When I pause, the size of the video goes back to the way I set it. I show this in the video. Then I show what was my working solution for the time being: "scale to frame size", which brings all the videos to the size of the sequence frame size and works fine. Later, I turn off OpenCL in premiere and when I scrub through the video, it doesn't zoom back in or only stay at the size I set when stopped. For some reason all of these issues only happen at 50% scale or smaller. It doesn't happen at, say, 60%.
I've tested this with raw R3D files and other 4K (or 5K) clips (even clips exported from After Effects) and the same thing happens. It doesn't seem to happen with 2.5k footage or 1080p footage.
Issue #2
This is the second project you'll see in the video.
After grading in speedgrade (through direct link) I open my project back up in premiere and start playing it back. The video plays back with delays and frame drops. Now normally, this would be expected. But this is 1080p pro res footage, and this is just an effect added, and the yellow bar appears indicating that open CL should be accelerating the playback and it should do so smoothly.
Maybe I was just wrong in assuming that a simple grade from speedgrade would be able to playback smoothly. I turn off the grade, and it plays normally.
But then, when I turn off open cl and leave the grade on, the video plays back without ANY issues.
So to me, it seems I'm still having issues with Open CL and adobe. I've found fixes that make it work temporarily, I don't need that kind of answer. However, I would like this to work. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Something I need to do to get this to work?
Here are my specs:
Mac Pro 6,1 (Late 2013)
3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5
64 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC
AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB (x2)
OSX 10.9.4
Firmware: 2.20f18
What you're seeing is latest version of Premiere (CC 2014, v8.0.0 [169] Build)
Everything here is ProRes 422, running from a Promise Pegasus2 R4 RAID (drives: 4x Seagate Desktop HDD 4 TB SATA 6Gb/s NCQ 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive ST4000DM000) (that's thunderbolt 2).
I've done everything: I've restarted my computer hundreds of times, I've reset NVRAM and PRAM and done power cycles.
This isn't just some issue that started with 10.9.3 of OSX, the 4k issues happened when I first switched to a 1080p sequence back in February (2014) or so, which means it was an issue even with 10.9.2 and the previous firmware release.
I've reported this issue to adobe. That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account. -
Having issues with sending attachments via iMail to PC users
Having issues with sending attachments via iMail to PC users. Either they do not see all the attachments or the attachment comes across blank. Is there any suggested ways to resolve this?
You can also use Dropbox. 2GB free. Put files in the Public folder and you can send them links of the files instead.

I'm having issues with my TV programmes artwork. The artwork shows in iTunes but not on the Videos app. Is anyone else having a similar issue?
Your feed is at http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/GPKwx
The latest episode in it is 23 July: the later episodes haven't made it into the feed so either the connection to Feedburner has failed or there is something about the recent episodes which is causing them not to make it into the feed. It's not obvious from looking at the web page what this might be. -
Can't access google calendar with parental controls on
We are trying to give our daughter accesss to the family's Google calendar. In the parental controls we have "try to limit adult websites" as the selection. With this on, she is not able to log into the calendar - it gives a message that says something about not being able to establish a secure connection. She can go on the Google homepage without problem and search, etc. - but she can't access the Google sign-in or the calendar.
When we change the parental controls setting to "allow all websites" she can log onto the calendar without any problem.
We also tried adding the various google web address strings under the "customize" tab for "always allow these sites" while still leaving the "try to limit adult websites" as the overall setting. Even with the specific sites approved - she still can't access the calendar.
What's up?? Isn't there a way we can allow her to see the calendar without having to give her unecessary exposure to anything on the net?So after I made my original post above I continued searching the forums and found the answer below. It refers to Googla Mail but their solution worked just as well for Google Calendar. Who knew it would be so simple. I just went into "always allow these sites" and put in the 1e100.net and it worked like a champ! The adult sites are still screened out but she can now access Google without any issue.

Re: Why can't I access Gmail anymore when internet restrictions are in plac
Apr 10, 2010 1:52 PM (in response to atobteam)
Finally!!!!! This solution works! Yea! There are two scenarios I know of: 1. If you have users for whom under "Parental Controls/Content" you've chosen "Allow access only to these websites" (they can only get to the websites that are bookmarked by you) and if Google Mail was already a bookmark, then just do this: click the plus sign below the list in "Parental Controls/Content/Allow access only to these websites", and choose "Add Bookmark." On the pop-up, name the site "goog" or anything you want; then type in: 1e100.net in the box asking for an address. This will produce a new bookmark (named "goog" or whatever you've chosen), but will in effect just be a dummy or slave bookmark that you'll never use, but it'll allow you to get to your user's google mail sign in page by hitting the old google mail bookmark he or she used to hit. Second scenario (I have both scenarios in my home): if you have users for whom under "Parental Controls/Content" you've chosen "Try to Limit Access to Adult Websites Automatically", click the "Customize" button and then on the top of the pop-up, under "Always Allow These Websites," click the plus button and then add: 1e100.net . Then click OK. This user will now be able to get to his or her google mail sign in page. -
With Parental Controls on, Wacom Tablet pressure sensativity will not work.
I run several high-end Mac Art and Photo-based labs and have run into an issue with Leopard's Parental Controls and Wacom Tablets - when I choose to limit the programs that my users (students) can use, Wacom Tablets will lose functionality under those logins - and it seems only to be pressure-sensitive functions. I've tried several combinations of allowing all programs except utilities, with utilities, etc - no dice - I actually have to turn off "limit programs" and that is the only point that it'll actually let me use all the Wacom's functionality under those managed users - is there a way to fix this?
..."I've allowed all Utilities, Applications, etc and no matter what, as soon as I turn on the "only allowed selected programs" option, it won't work."...
I'm not sure, but it is possible that allowing / disallowing based on the pre-defined categories may not work because the software that Wacom uses on my system is in an atypical location, and has an atypical structure - it actually has one application contained inside another. It may be necessary to approve the apps explicitly.
Perhaps try either:
i) Opening "/Library" > "Application Support" > "Tablet" and explicitly dragging any apps present there into the "Parental Controls" pref pane in the panel where the programmes are listed. On my system, the app is called "PenTabletDriver.app"...
or
ii) Logging in to the managed account (with application restrictions in place), and trying to launch the "PenTabletDriver.app" programme. If this generates the "application is not allowed" message, it should be possible to "always allow" with "admin" authentication to white-list it at that stage... -

About Flashback malware
Back up all data, if you haven't already done so.
Select ▹ Software Update to install the latest Java update (if Java is already installed) or the Flashback malware removal tool (if Java is not installed under Lion), as well as any other available updates. Installing either of those items should clear the infection in most cases. You must update to the latest version of Mac OS X 10.6 or 10.7 before you can install the Java update.
The removal tool runs automatically in the background and is then deleted. Don’t look for something to click. If the malware is removed, you’ll be notified.

Issue with copy control of Delivery document to Billing document
Hi All,
I am having some issue with copy control of Delivery document to Billing document.
I am having two line items in Delivery documetn, one is for item to be delivered to customer and other which is created due to batch determination.
Now , when I create billing document (VF01) with reference to this delivery document , I want only one line item (for the one which needs to be delivered to customer).
I have used following things in copy contro from ZLF to ZF2:
Copying requirements: 004 ( Deliv-related item)
Data VBRK/VBRP: 007 "(Inv.Split (Rec/Div))
Is it correct or shall I use something else, so I have only one line item in Billing document.
Regards
NidhiPls. search the forum.
Pls. refer the below link -
