Christiano1989 the response which included this information was in a completely different message thread within the Photoshop General Discussion forum.
If you are not able to apply the update directly then you will want to look at your installation log to determine the point of failure. You can find information on how to locate and interpret your installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

If you need assistance with reviewing your log please utilize the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/ and choose the package for support option. If you can then respond to this thread with the operating system you are using and your token number a Adobe employee can then assist with reviewing your installation logs.Good morning,
I have trouble installing the 16.2.0 update as well. I ran Adobe Support Advisor and here is the token returned by the application:
40-23495-024416122012
Other applications have been updated without problems. ASA tells me that there's a problem with validation of the pre-chrome licence (translated from French, I hope you see what it means). It seems to have a link with Creative Suite 5. I'm a bit surprised as I uninstalled CS5 as cleanly as possible (using the maccs5clean script).
I'm working on a 17" MacBook Pro (Early 2011) with Mac OS X 10.8.2.
Regards,
Damien

Is anyone having problems with the stock widget not updating?
Is anyone having problems with the stock widget not updating?
Widgets unfortunately have gone by the wayside since Apple introduced the App Store a couple years ago. No widget has received any official recognition in the Apple listing of Widgets since that time. So it is entirely possible the widget has gotten redirected. There are many other Apps for stocks. I personally like the Nasdaq Quote website since it knows mutual funds and other markets as well.

I'm a Creative Cloud user. I have been using the 64-bit version of Photoshop 13.0.x on my system successfully for several months now. I have Windows 7, 3rd gen (Ivy Bridge) core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB Hard Drive, and am using an NVIDIA GeForce 670 video card.... so my system has plenty of processing power. Several nights ago, my Adobe application manager pops up on start up (as normal whenever there's app updates to be done) and says there's an update available for Photoshop (version 13.1.2, I think.. or something close to it, anyway) and Bridge. So, as normal, I apply the updates... Everything completely successfully according to the Applicatino Manager. However, when I try to start photoshop after the update, I get this window that pops up immediately upon double-clicking the Photoshop 64-bit icon on my desktop: "Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer because this version of Photoshop requires Windows 7 or later." All I can do is "X" out the box to make it go away, so I did. Weird because obviously I have Windows 7 and all of my other software works great on my system, and I have Lightroom 4.3, other Adobe stuff, Serif software, ACDSee, etc... and I get no problems out of ANY of them running on my officially licensed version of Windows 7. So just for the heck of it, I uninstalled Photoshop completely and then reinstalled it using the Adobe Application Manager. It installs version 13.0, which then allows me to open and use Photoshop as normal. I proceed to "check for updates" from within the program, and it takes me to 13.0.2 I believe. I can use Photoshop as normal after that. Here's what I think is funny... I can check for updates to my heart's content after updating to 13.0.x. The program thinks there's no updates available after 13.0.x. The only way my system knows there's a later version out there is if I power down my system and restart it. Then and only then will Adobe Application Manager come up and tell me there's an update available (13.1.2) which, if I chooose to install (and I did), takes me back to the error that I mentioned earlier: "Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer becuse this version of Photoshop requires Windows 7 or later". Soooo with all of this said... DOES ANYONE know how the updated version of Photoshop (13.1.2) for Creative Cloud Subscribers checks to see if it's running on a Windows 7 system? For whatever reason, it doesn't think I have Windows 7 after updating to it, and I'm stuck! I know if I contact Adobe Support, they're going to want to uninstall ALL of my Adobe software of which I have alot, and then reinstall everything... and quite frankly, I think all that is a bunch of crap! It's plain and simple... Photoshop works BEFORE the update, and will not open due to this error AFTER the update, so there's some issue with the updating procedure that causes Photoshop to not recognize my Windows 7 system, and I just pray that SOMEBODY out there might be able to help me change some setting on my system that will cause Photoshop 13.1.2 to actually work!
UPDATE: I decided to check the 32-bit version of 13.1.2, and it works! So it looks like this error is limited to the 64-bit version. That just makes no sense at all to me. -
Anyone not having problems with the QT 7.1 update?
Do I dare update? I've read where many are having problems. Should I wait for a 7.2?
GeoffGeoff,
MacFixit is an excellent trouble shooting sit. However, do not forget what their business model is: trouble with Macs. If anyONE post a problem, they post a fix. The point is: ONE.
Please search the Apple discussions and you will find very few reports about problems with QuickTime 7.1. In fact, it's one of the updates with the lowest number of problems in a long time.
But if you want to watch the grass growing, you better wait untill Apple releases QuickTime 11.8 in April 2024 - and hope it does not cause ANY problems to ANY user in the several million installations worldwide. -
Having problems installing the 10.4.4 update
Hello There,
I just recently purchased a second hand Mac Mini from someone, and have both Mac OS 10.3 Panther and Mac OS 10.4 Tiger installation DVDs.
Upon recieveing the Mac Mini, I formatted and installed 10.3 using the Panther DVD (Was the DVD that origionally came with the Mac, Panther). Once Panther was installed, I went ahead and booted off the Tiger DVD to update the Panther installation to Jaguar (the version, as of now, is 10.4.3).
I have downloaded the OS X Tiger 10.4.4 updater (Delta, since i am only going from 10.4.3) and I am getting the following message when i try to run the updater:
http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/4999/picture23bs.jpg
I just took a screenshot so you folks could see what I am getting. The Mac Mini is just over a Year old, Has 1GB RAM, 1.2Ghz G4 Processor and a DVD/CD-RW Combo drive in it. I should be able to upgrade this little guy to at least 10.4.4 right? I've heard of other Mac Mini owners upgrading to it...
Any idea what's going on and how I can get 10.4.4 installed? I'm a newbie OS X user (my first mac) so my experience is very limited at this point - but I am willing to try anything to get this installed!
Thanks for the help in advance!!
- EvanAlso,
I am not seeing this 10.4.4 update in Software Updater. It's as if my OS is "not aloud" to upgrade to the latest version... -
Is there a problem with the OS 5.1 update for first generation iPads?
Double clicking my home button sends my first generation iPad into a black loading screen. The four finger swipe does the same thing. I haven't found a way to access the open programs without this happening.
zphelj,
it reads as though you have a corrupted Mavericks installation at the moment. You can try this: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Are you able to run the 10.9.3 update now? -
Having problem loading the gif from a jar for the frame.
I got the gif showing up for the Toolbar fine but now trying to get the Frame icon from the same jar and having the problem.
I have the following method in the MainFrame.
* Load an ImageIcon, either from inside the jar file (during the normal execution)
* or from the source path (during the development without jar file).
public static synchronized ImageIcon LoadImageIcon(String name) {
try {
URL url = ClassLoader.getSystemResource(name);
if(url!=null) {
return new ImageIcon(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(url));
} else {
return new ImageIcon(name);
} catch(Exception e) {
return null;
I gave the following in the constructor of the same class i.e the MainFrame which is extending the JFrame
this.setIconImage(LoadImageIcon("frameicon.gif").getImage());
I am not getting the Icon. I did check the name of icon and I don't know what else to check.
Any suggesions or what am I missing here? Thanks.I have these 2 statements one below the other and
JButton btnNew = new JButton(MainFrame.LoadImageIcon("new.gif"));
JButton btnOpenProject = new JButton(MainFrame.LoadImageIcon("open.gif"));
for the above it gets the icon and for the below it doesn't from the jar. Why is it so? I don't understand. help me thru this. I am not getting any icon except for the new.gif. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks. -
Macbook 2009 does static sound on google chrome and so does my mac desktop. This is all started under Mavericks 10.9.2 for me.
Nevermind I fixed it. Atleast I think I did, I just set my audio to 24-bit and 9600khz or whatever its called and it sounds clear now. At least I hope that fixed the problem.

Ive used compressor and then tried to put it in dvdsp put its not working. I am having problems with the audio or when i burn it , i cant play the dvd? any help would be appreciated
I suspect you are attempting to burn an HD DVD, which will not play on a DVD player...
But if you provide more details such as the settings you are applying in Compressor, then we would be able to provide you more accurate information.
How are you adding the files to Compressor?

Is anyone having problems with the battery heating up and draining the power? Mine has been doing this for about 2 months now.
This is a major problem with Lollipop, but yo said it started 2 months ago. Several people have fixed problem by removing FaceBook And Face book messenger and then re loading the apps again. You might want to clear your cache before reloading. Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try. Good Luck

I am having problems with the Preview application. When I try to use it to open a pdf document it gets hung-up and I have to select force quit to close it. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem? Thanks for any help
Can you open the Preview program without loading a file, like by itself?
If it doesn't load then I suspect a corrupt Preview preference file.
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file
Can you open other files with Preview, like jpg's and images?
How about other PDFs? or is it just that one you have downloaded?
Run through this list of fixes

Is anyone having problems loading the newest version of iTunes (10.6.3) using Windows Vista? My current iTunes program version 10.6.1 keeps telling me there is an update but when I try to load it the information box goes away and nothing happens. I have tried downloading the new version from Apple web site but it brings up a warning screen of " iTunes setup.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer." I select the action of run anyway and get the next error "iTunes Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application." What Gives?

In the course of your troubleshooting to date have you worked through the following document?

Is anyone else having problems with the Canon Online Store?
In the last month or so, I've had one problem after another with the Canon Online Store; from being unable to delete items from the shopping cart; to not being able to add "in stock" items; disappearing Wish Lists; and just now, I tried to add one lens cap to the 6 or 7 items I already had in the Shopping Cart, and they disappeared.
I've called, more than once, and I've written, also more than once, to Canon Support about this, but they ignore what I tell them, and tell me there are no problems with the Online Store. They don't even seem to report to anyone that anyone has complained, because each time is "the first time", even though I've called (more than once) and written (more than once) to them about continuing Online Stores problems.
Is anyone else having problems with the Canon Online Store?
Why does Canon not care to track reported problems with the storefront part of their web-site?
I'm not trying to insult Canon, it's just that I've been a Canon customer for less than 3 months, and the're only batting .333, so far. Canon Support was very quick to respond about a concern I had that a 50mm f/1.4 I had just purchased was authentic or not. In trying to register that lens, I looked up on the Canon web site where to find the serial number. Since my new lens did not have any numbers there, I was concerned I had been sold a fake. But, then Canon Support sent me link to a different online document that showed a few different places where it might be, and there it was.
Is Canon like that with other problems, as well? Or is their "batting" average better than my very limited experience?
I just love my Rebel T5i, and my Canon lenses (from "the Kit brothers of the Cropped Frame coral": EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, and EF-S 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM; to the "Truly Nifty Fifty", the 50mm f/1.4 USM, [the f/1.8 is just a "thrifty fifty"], and finally, the "Super-Macro" MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1x-5x Macro)!
Regards and Thanks,
Calen

CalenHi Danny. Thanks for replying.
I only use my desktop PC to access Canon's web site, and I've been using Mozilla Firefox for years. And, yes, it is the latest version. Since Canon REFUSES to support the use of Firefox on it's web site, WHAT BROWSER DOES CANON SUPPORT? WHEN did Canon STOP SUPPORTING Firefox?
I've been told that there are 2 pending orders in my account. Yet, I NEVER placed those orders! WHY CAN'T CANON SEE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM???
Instead of off-target suggestions, and pasted boilerplate REFUSALS TO EVEN LOOK at this issue, I would prefer it if Canon went "old school", and FIXED THE PROBLEM, in the first place! But, maybe that's a bit too grown up of an answer for you!
"Award-winning" support??? And, just exactly WHAT AWARD did Canon "support" WIN for CONSISTANTLY IGNORING REPORTED PROBLEMS??? The OSTRICH?
Please pull your head out, and FIX this problem, OR YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!!
Thank you for your "prompt" attention to this matter!
