I am having problems closing Photoshop Editor?

I cannot close this program on my iMac. Anyone else have this problem/ I can't even open it to view. It is open in the background somehow and cannot be accessed. I can't even uninstall because it tells me to close it and I can't? I can'y even put it in the trash. Anyone els have this problem. I am stuck I have tried everything.

NEVER try to put PSE in the trash unless you really like doing meticulous bit by bit manual cleanup.
Are you a new mac user? Any program that is running will appear in the dock. On a mac closing a program window doesn't usually quit the program; it just closes the window. Go to the dock and click hold on the PSE icon (it will have a little mark next to the icon showing that it's running, like all active programs). Choose quit from the contextual menu or just click the icon to bring it back to the fore and press cmd+Q to quit it.
You MUST use the uninstaller in the PSE folder in applications to uninstall PSE or you will make a big mess. PSE is not a tidy package like most mac apps and the installer strews stuff all over your hard drive. You need the uninstaller or many pieces will be left behind.

I am having problem with Photoshop CS3 hanging

I am having a lot of problems with Photoshop CS3 hanging and crashing. Particularly when I open hi-res photos and click on tools, like the type tool. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

Buy more RAM, plain and simple. Sounds the program is severely suffocating. for on-screen display fonts need also be rasterized, which also costs RAM, even if they otherwise remain native vectors. How much memory do you have? as a short term solution, you may wish to increase the program's RAM usage in the prefs, but it may not resolve the issues entirely.

Having problems updating Photoshop CS6 to version 13.0.5?

What is causing problem updating Photoshop CS6 13.0 x64 Extended to version 13.0.5 (Error Code U44M2P7) on Mac running OS X 10.8,4? What is the solution?

USE THIS PROCEDURE:
FIRST BE CERTAIN THAT YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL, PRE CLOUD, INSTALL DMG OR CD in case something goes badly.
THEN, DEACTIVATE YOUR RUNNING COPY OF PS6.
UNINSTALL THAT VERSION.
LOG ON TO CREATIVE CLOUD AND CLICK ON "APPS" DOWNLOAD PHOTOSHOP.
ONCE INSTALLED, OPEN IT AND GO TO HELP>update.WHEN THIS IS DONE YOU WILL HAVE VERSION 13.1.2

Having problems with Photoshop CS5 running on 34 bit Vista

I recently downloaded CS5 Design premium, and I seem to be having trouble running bridge. I'm using MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2 on an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz. 3gb of RAM and 256MB GeForce 8500 GT graphics card (if that matters). I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, or maybe a 32-bit version of Photoshop CS5.
And if there isn't, is there a way to remove the bridge access buttons from photoshop? Seeing something useless in a five hundred dollar program bothers me quite a bit. Thanks in advance.

Apparently, something went wrong with your Photoshop installation. I would try fully uninstalling Photoshop and then run the "CS5 cleaner tool" (see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html). Then try reinstalling making sure you turn off all anti-virus software and UAC (User Account Control) and run as an Administrator equivalent.
If you still have problems, please contact Adobe Technical support directly.
To answer you question about the buttons, no, there is no way of disabling that functionality.

Anyone having problems getting Photoshop CC14 to work with Lightroom 5.5?

I installed Photoshop CC 2014, but Lightroom wouldn't export photos to it. Spent 3hours on the phone with Adobe support, they wiped all my Adobe apps without warning me and I lost all my presets. Was told higher level support would contact me - didn't happen. System still not fixed, even after an hour trying to get to the right person today. I've never had a problem installing before - anyone else having a similar issue? Who do I contact for better "customer service" (or does it exist)?

Thanks for your reply! I've installed PS many times (since version 3, I think), and nothing like this has ever happened. I use and teach PS and LR for a living. The tech person I spoke with told me it is not unusual to have this happen when upgrading to CC 2014.
What happened is that PS CC2014 would not open the image in PS if I used the Photo>Edit In>PS 2014 command unless I used Photo>Edit In>Open as Smart Object. Once opened as a smart object, PS would not save the file. I think it said Error 2.
The tech took control of my computer, removed PS and LR and all the associated files a few times. He told me I'd have to have a high level person help me, but they didn't call me, so I phoned in. After waiting an hour to get to the correct person (not a high level tech) he said he'd have to uninstall everything again and start over and that it would take over an hour. I don't have the time right now to fix it as I'm headed out of town until the end of the month to teach LR.
In the meantime, LR works, but I'm using a trial version that expires in 30 days. It exports to PS ok, but I had to reload all my plug-ins, and apparently LR can't find Photomatix. LR is not installed in my usual applications folder - the tech put it on my system backup drive.

I've already installed the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. I open the program, than I open the "Editor menu" and the the program ask me to sign in. I've already an Adobe Account, but the program tells me that I'm not connected to the internet, but I am. I'm using the browser and all works.

Having problems opening photoshop 7.0 in windows 7

I installed photoshop 7.0 on Windows 7 (64 bit). When I try to open it I get the following prompt:" Could not initialize Photoshop, Scratch disks are full". I contacted Microsoft, they were not able to resolve the issue, they suggest I contact Adobe and get back to them, if problem is not resolved. Is there a fix for this problem?

try resetting your preferences by holding down shift-ctrl-alt while starting ps. you'll see a confirmation dialog if done correctly.
if that fails, use a hd less than 1 tb
if that fails, uninstall and reinstall using compatibility mode (with a compatibile os).

I am having problems install Photoshop elements 8.0 and premiere elements 8.0

I have recently received both photoshop elements 8.0 and premiere elements 8.0 and neither will install.
I have gone through (at length!) all the support suggestions e.g. adusting accelaration etc. Absolutley nothing works! I have spent over 4 hours trying to sort this problem which as it is a new product is extemely disappointing. I look for any helpful advice or should I just claim my money back?

I tried downloading the trial version which seems to have gone through. However although i can see lots of new files in a "Premier elements" folder in programs, I cannot see any way to open it. It has not appeared on the programs list and there is no shortcut on the desktop. How am I supposed to access this software?
If this is a trial, you really should make it more user friendly as I am not impressed at all so far.
I have spent over 6 housr now trying to get this sofware to work. If you cannot nwo get this to work, i will return to store and get refund (and use a version of Pinnacle recommended by a friend who has had no problems!

IT CRASHES FOR NO REASON, i can open the programme up and not use it still crashes, I have never had a problem with Windows.

Anyone having problems using Photoshop CS2 in emulator mode?

I am about to purchase a new iMAC 20 and I'm concerned about being able to use Photoshop on this machine.
Anyone having a good experience with that setup?

Thanks really appreciate the response. I will be getting mine with an additional 2GB so I'm hoping it runs as fast as possible given that RAM limitation. I'm disappointed that there is a 2GB limit since I was hoping to buy a machine with at least 4GB. But my only other option was a G5 and I couldn't see spending the money for a fully blown G5 when the newer iMAC may serve me just fine. The higher end PCs are just as expensive anyway and I don't want to stay with PCs - need a change!
Most of what I do is photo editing and presentation. I'm a photographer so I need to have lots of good processing software for working on photos and creating slideshows, albums, etc. I have been a little concerned as to the ability of the iMAC for this kind of work. But, so far the people I know who have them really like them.

Having problems downloading Photoshop/Lightroom to Windows Vista.

I purchased a monthly subscription to Photoshop/Lightroom. When I clicked on the blue Download box it gave me an error message stating "Running an operating system that photoshop no longer supports. Refer to the system requirements below for a full list of supported platforms".
It lists only Windows 7 and 8 as supported operating systems.
I am running Windows Vista. Is there a way to download the apps to Windows Vista? My system has all the other requirements; AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor and 320 GB hard drive.

Vstar4me2 I am very sorry but you will need to upgrade to Windows 7 or later to use Photoshop CC and Photoshop Lightroom 5.

Having Problem Reinstalling Photoshop Elements 6.0.

When I was upgrading my computer to Windows 8, my friend recommended that I copy over all my files to a backup USB memory stick. When I did upgrade my computer to Windows 8, most of my files ended up being wiped off for some reason. I've managed to reinstall most of my files. However, I have no idea how to reinstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 from the files that are saved on my USB. Is there anyway that I can do this? I don't really want to have to buy a new version of Adobe Photoshop Elements as I only ever really use it for editing.

Unfortunately you need to have installation files to install the software on a different machine. There is no download available for Elements 6, so if you do not have a disc version then you won't have much choice but to upgrade to a new version.

Is anyone else having problems with Photoshop CS6 after upgrading to 10.9.3?

Hi all. I've noticed that ever since I upgraded my rMBP 15" to 10.9.3, Photoshop thinks it's in dual screen mode all the times and I can't do anything (unless I actually connect a second screen and move the application frame to it, then I can work normally).

Because that doesn't work. As I said, if I move Photoshop to the primary screen, I can't select tools (other than with the keyboard), the image looks chopped up, and the panels just don't work. Here's a screenshot to clarify.
This is what I get upon starting Photoshop and loading an image. There's currently no external screen attached.
Here's another screenshot with the external screen attached. Note how the workspace seems to mimick the position of the two screens somehow.
