I am having probs. using photo elements 10 opening i-photo files

I cannot open i-photo files with photoshop elements 10. It gives me a program fault message. Can anyone help?

The only solution we were able to come up with is mirroring screens (where everything seems to work ok) as a temporary work around - they are sending the issue to their engineers and have scheduled a followup with me for 4 days from now. The only other option seems to be to revert back to 10:10:1 if you have Time Machine set up. I'll followup when I know more.

Firstly, there's no such thing as Apache 9.3, there's Apache 1 (and subversions) and Apache 2 (and subversions). Your error message -

I do not have Apache 9.3 or higher but I think oracle should offer this in its companion CDOracle does offer the Apache server, if you're saying you didn't get it from Oracle then where did your Apache server come from?
Thirdly, I notice from your config file -
ErrorLog "|E:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Companion\Apache\Apache\bin\rotatelogs logs/error_log 43200"That you're piping the logs through rotatelogs, are you sure the logfiles haven't just been renamed?

Having trouble with character encoding when opening a .csv file either on excel or in numbers!

I oftenly use internet banking services which produce .csv reports for the transactions i make. After downloading these reports i try to open them in numbers (and excel) but the encoding for Greek is messed up. Opening the same file with excel on a windows computer everything works fine. Is there something i can do to fix this?Same thing happens to both my Macbook Pro and my iMac.

I suspect that the .csv reports are not in Unicode which is required on Mac's. You would probably have to open the files with something like TextEdit and resave as Unicode to get them to display properly.

Is anyone else having problems using the Elements 9 Organizer?

I have upgraded from Elements 6 to Elements 9 and am finding glitches in the organizer and some of its functions. For example, to share my images online through Photoshop Showcase, I need to unstack them before making an album. If I do not unstack, all the images in the stack, regardless of how I select them, are included in the album. I stack my worked and edited images together with the original photo. When I use the display in 'import batch' view, I get several copies of my images in each import date of those that are also included in my stack, very frustrating. Often the stacks just keep on multiplying in the display using this sort of view. When I delete an image from a stack, the display jumps to another time and date and image on my organiser and I need to note and remember where I was working so that I can get back to the right spot again. I am less than happy with this and other obvious bugs in this version.

I too encountered difficulties with Stacks. The advantages were few, the disadvantages many, so I unstacked everything and have never never used it again.

Well, I don't understand those directions at all, unless you're trying to something quite different than just cropping. If you just want to crop an image, you go to Image>Resize>Image Size, and first make sure the setting in pixels per inch is what you want (usually 300 ppi is considered optimum for printing, around 72 for onscreen display). If it's not what you want, turn OFF resample image in the bottom part of the window and change the number to what you want, click OK, then go to the crop tool and drag out a one inch square or enter the dimensions in the options bar before drag, move the crop frame where you want it, and click OK.
To move something from one image to another, which sounds like what your directions are for, not cropping, you must first select it with the selection tool of your choice to tell PSE what you want to copy, then use the regular copy/paste commands for your operating system (ctrl+c/cmd+c, ctrl+v/cmd+v, etc.). To select an entire image, press ctrl+a/cmd+a.
If you just want to copy part of an image rather than cropping it, use the marquee tool to select your one inch square, then copy/paste into the other document.

When installing photo elements 9(downloaded exe installation file) on my second computer the serial number I emter is rejected as invalid. I know this number is correct. Why is this happening?

Can Photoshop Elements 5 open the Raw files from my camera?

I have just began using raw instead of jpg, but cant open my images in Elements 5, even though manual says I can open the file stored on my c: drive thru editor, open. It says file is in incorrect format. Can someone please tell me how to convert the raw file in elements?

How to keep photo order when opening default photo app?

First it concerns the default photo App: I have created an Album based on recent photos imported from the cloud, there are 125 photos in them, for some reason they are in the wrong order, i.e. by date. I know how to rearrange one photo at a time, but it's painfully slow to go through all 100s of them.
Second, there is the iPhoto App: I downloaded iPhoto app from the iWork suite, that came free for me, it gave me an option to sort photos by date, hooray!
BUT!! when I close iPhoto and reopen the default photo app, the photos were no longer sorted, it was the same order before the sort!
My question is, how on earth do I sort an album in iPhoto and to keep that order when I open the album through the default photo app or indeed any other app that uses the iOS albums such as facebook etc?

As far as i know, you can't, when using iphoto, the sort is only for iphoto, apps on ios do not have access to one anothers data, ever, you can transfer a file from one app to another app that supports the file format but then you have two independent copies of that file.

I am suddenly having a problem when trying to open a .tif file in Adobe bridge. The picture opens in firefox. It never did this before. How do I get my .tif and .jpg files to open in bridge?

I open Photoshop cs5 version of bridge. Go to a folder that contains photos in .tif, ljpg, etc. file types. When I click on a .tif or .jpg file that I want to open in the raw window of bridge (which it has done for the past year) in opens instead in firefox. How do I stop this from happening????

CS6 Photoshop crashes when trying to use type tool or opening up .psd files. Any ideas on how to fix it???

I have Adobe CS6 Design Standard (MAC). I have had it about a year and a half and use it a ton! Just yesterday while I was using Photoshop, I clicked to use the type tool, the "initializing type tool" box popped up then a few seconds later the whole program crashed. I tried opening it back up and every time I did it just kept crashing. I restarted and shut down my computer, but still no solution. I even uninstalled the program then reinstalled. Same thing. All of my other tools work just fine (brush tool, eraser, crop, etc.). Also, when I try to open up a .psd file the program crashes as well.
I tried searching the internet for solutions, but couldn't find much. One suggestion was to delete the Adobe Photoshop program settings file, I did that but it still didn't work. After each crash a report would be sent to Adobe, then another window would pop up saying that Adobe has found a solution for the recent crash. There is a link that says "please CLICK HERE for further details" but the link doesn't take me anywhere. It just doesn't work!
Has anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas on how to fix it? I really need to get this up and running again!!!

This is a user to user forum and Adobe Staff does drop by.
First thing to try is Reset the Type Tool by right-clicking on its' icon in the Options bar.
If you still have problems, it could be related to fonts. Here is a step by step troubleshooting help doc for that.

What it sounds like is that one of the helper programs that reader uses, called plug-ins, isn't working. If you've recently added a plug-in, you might try removing it. Otherwise, I would be inclined to uninstall reader and reinstall the latest version.
