I am having trouble getting mail from the shaw server that my new iMac is connected to. I have to reboot the system to get Outlook for Mac to access the system and obtain new messages. Any ideas? Its at the point where I have started using the PC again as its less trouble.......

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".<br />

You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection"<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy

Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

Not getting mail from pop server

If I click on "get account info" for the account the mail appears in the all messages on pop server, but when I click get mail it doesn't download them to the inbox.
If I delete the account and add it back in it seems to download the latest 100 messages, but won't get any new ones unless I delete and re add the account.
Any Ideas?

Outlook for mac on Lion the notification sounds stop working

We have a user on a MacBook Air with Lion and the notification sounds in Outlook 2011 stop working after the computer goes to sleep and only after restarting the computer do they work again. We reinstalled Office and even lengthened the time for the computer to sleep and even unchecked for the hard disk to sleep when possible. We did a time machine transfer to get his documents from the old machine to this one. Permissions have been repaired and Office and OS have the latest updates and still the sounds disappear.
Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Bah, the same crap happend again.
I installed the drivers, restarted the computer, disabled onboard sound, saved changes, started back up, and after it loads the windows screen, it goes to a black screen which hangs there for like 0 minutes (literally) so i am forced to restart, i get an error message saying windows didnt load correctly last time or whatever, do i want to load from last known good configuration? I choose yes, now im in windows. I check the device manager. "Creative SB X-FI" is there with an exclamation point beside it, i check and it says the drivers are not installed.

When I drag .ics files into Outlook for Mac 2011, only the all-day events show up. It won't show part-day events.

I'm attempting to copy events from the Calendar app on my MacBook pro to the Outlook 2011 calendar. When I drop and drag the .ics files to Outlook, it accepts the information, but only shows all day events. I've tried changing events in Calendar to all day, then create the .ics file then drop and drag to Outlook, and even that doesn't work. Is anyone else having that problem? Has anyone found a solution for this?

Is Macintosh HD2 an external or internal HD? If it is external be sure in Finder > Preferences > General External disks is checked. Similarly in Findeer > Preferences > Sidebar be sure External disks is checked. If it is a second internal HD do you see it in Disk Utlitiy or System Report?

Firefox works perfectly on my home computer except for one user's desk top where it says that Firefox is configured to a proxy server that will not establish a connection. I have tried restarting but I can not get Firefox to work on just one desk top.

I have been trying tu setup my yahoo acct buy I simply cant. .mac works fine, but i cant seem to connect to yahoo. an error message appears that says "The user name or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect." can someone translate this to english?

It means what is says. The server that you are trying to connect to - the one with your email - says that either your user name or password is incorrect.
If you have double check then it is probably a server issue. You'd need to talk to Yahoo about it.
